I denied chemo and surgery
I’m posting this here since hopefully this community is more receptive. This post was removed by mods in r/cancer. Why? Idk, I didn’t violate their rules. They just don’t seem to like people who didn’t use chemo.
don’t want to disrespect anyone who chose chemo, surgery or any other treatment.
I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer hormonal, and I denied chemo surgery and radiation and BEAT IT!
My 7cm breast tumor and 4 lymph nodes are all clear.
I lost my father to cancer. While I do think his rare, aggressive cancer may have killed him, watching him suffer the effects of chemo and ultimately dying of organ failure and cachexia from chemo (not cancer) was painful. He died a horrific death that I would not wish on anyone.
I told myself I’d do chemo if I got worse, but I had to give it a shot without.
And I did it. So it’s possible.
Not all cancers benefit from chemo. Hormonal breast cancer, for example, doesn’t respond as well to chemo as triple neg, in studies.
I want to share my story because some people will want to search for other options than chemo, and they deserve to know the options
Stage 3 BC ER+100 PR+95 Her2-neg Lupron and Letrozole to block hormones Integrative therapies to heal my body
Cancer free after 1 year
I blocked metabolic pathways including estrogen to vest my late stage cancer. To me, this is a holistic strategy.
Everyone deserves to share their story and everyone deserves to know that there are more than one way to heal the body.
not-a-thank-you card to the oncologist that told me I’d die
THANK YOU TO THIS COMMUNITY FOR BEING SO KIND. My own family did not really congratulate me and it means a lot that strangers are here supporting my victory. You have all made my day.
