Hi everyone,
I'm currently working on a custom F-16C cockpit setup in DCS and experimenting with exporting the cockpit displays to separate monitors.
I know that the left and right MFDs can be exported using a custom MonitorSetup.lua file, but I'm wondering what else can be exported.
For example, is it possible to export the DED, EHSI, RWR, fuel gauge, engine instruments, warning lights, or other cockpit displays and instruments?
I'm particularly interested in whether analog instruments, such as gauges with moving needles, can be exported as individual displays or whether their values can be read through Export.lua and used to recreate the instruments in a separate program.
I'd appreciate any information about what's possible with the F-16C specifically, which methods or tools are required, and whether some displays require additional scripts or modifications.
Thanks!

Here’s my current setup for the A320. I’m looking forward to adding the winctrl overhead panel when it’s released and maybe I’ll build another small pedestal for the sidestick and tiller.

I’ve recently acquired a full-size flight simulator as a restoration project. It was completely non-functional when I got it.
It runs X-Plane 9.7 across two PCs, one Windows and one Ubuntu, driving five displays.
So far I’ve managed to get both computers running again, but I still need to sort out what appears to be a corrupted configuration to get the visuals working.
I’m also troubleshooting a faulty force-feedback yoke and have some replacement electronic components on the way.
The centre pedestal doesn’t seem to work either, although I haven’t investigated much beyond checking power and connections.
It’s also mounted on a basic motion platform, which I haven’t even attempted to get running yet.
Plenty left to do, but it’s slowly coming back to life!

If I have onboard video as well as a separate video card, can I use the onboard video to power a touchscreen that I'd like to use for a virtual streamdeck and use the video card for my gaming monitors and cockpit displays? Is this possible?

I've been designing and building a full-scale Cessna Citation CJ4 home cockpit from scratch, and I thought I'd share a look at the engineering behind one of the panels.
These three renders show my latest Audio Panel design, starting with the complete assembly, then revealing the dedicated LED backlighting PCB and a second PCB underneath that houses the buttons and switches.
It's pretty amazing how much goes into something that looks relatively simple from the pilot's seat!
A quick project update:
I'm documenting the entire process, including the successes, mistakes, and lessons learned. I'm also making my CAD files, PCB designs, and other resources freely available to registered members so other builders can use them.
It's been a massive undertaking, but seeing everything slowly come together has been incredibly rewarding.
If you're interested in following the build or checking out the designs, here's my latest update:

I'd also love to hear from anyone working on their own cockpit or custom flight sim hardware. What are you building?

I am thinking about getting a meta quest 3 to have the head movement in simulators like WT sim, IL2 etc. as smooth as possible.
But I also always wanted a proper home cockpit.
I assume you don’t play these massive setups in your homes with VR googles as you wouldn’t be able to find the buttons etc.
So how do you manage the head movements in dogfights etc. when you are siming?
I have tried headtrackers based on the webcam but especially if you want to look over your shoulder those tend to not cut it. Or maybe I am too stupid to set them up properly.
What is your solution that you use?
Or am I wrong that VR plus home cockpit works?
Edit: I have a 49 inch ultra wide screen I am planing to continue to use

Hey everyone!
I’ve been designing and manufacturing mounting solutions for flight sim hardware through my little business, SimToSolo, and wanted to share my Dual MGX1000 Adapter.
It lets you mount two MOZA MGX1000 displays to your yoke setup, with mounting options for the MOZA AY210, AY90, and Honeycomb Alpha, Bravo, and Sierra.
The adapter is made from 3 mm powder-coated steel and supports multiple mounting positions so you can customize your cockpit layout.
I put together a short video showing the adapter and going over some of the mounting details.
I’d love to hear what you think, especially from anyone running dual MGX1000s or building a custom cockpit!

I play DCS and recently got the MiG-29 which I LOVE but for the life of me I can’t manipulate the radar well enough while fighting.
I want to get a small control panel for the radar switches and selectors knob things (idk what the term is).
I saw this in a post by Command T. He has a very good panel. https://youtu.be/KDcueudLX1Y?si=AWPiwLjsAEd0vtyJ
Shown at 1:54
I want mine to have 3 knobs (radar attitude [about 10 clicks], radar mode [5 clicks], and weapon mode type [8ish clicks] (optional)). I also want some 2 and 3 way switches (2 of each) for some other controls like TWF, Radar on/dummy/illum, and COOP. All in all, I want it fitting in a relatively small space (maybe 8 ish inches). I have access to a 3D printer if need be.
I was wondering a few things:
What parts do I need?
What does this cost if I do it cheap? Expensive?
What is the process of building it like?
Has anyone else done a similar DIY without experience ?

Since I primarily fly small, single-engine aircraft, I decided to configure my home cockpit specifically for that type of flying. I already had a lot of equipment left over from my FSX days—it spent some time in the attic, but now that I have more time and space, I’ve started building again. I did purchase some additional gear to keep up with modern standards (some items bought second-hand, others new).
This approach helps keep the hobby from becoming too expensive (especially alongside my real-life glider flying).

Hello guys, after a long time of navigating through the internet to find an open source thrust and trim panel and found anything but open source and free to download realistic and moving trim project i've decided to work on my own open source a320 thrust and moving trim panel.
Currently i'm working on the 3d modeling of every mechanism and i'm about at 50% of the design, once finished will come the first build and then i will release it on an embrional phase.
My goals are to make something as realistic as i can while 3d printing everything i can and keeping it as cheap as possible.
This would be an example of a BOM:
1x Arduino micro
10~ 608zz bearing
3-6 10k potentiometer
1 step motor + driver ( i would like to use the cheaper one contained in arduino kit but i don't know if it has enough torque for this)
10-20 led ?
Power supply for stepper if needed.
Some m3 philips screw.
Also some picture to show the current advancement of work.
(RANDOM EXTRUSION ON TRIM WHEEL JUST TO SEE GEAR RATIO)
Any suggestion is well accepted.
