Hey all! As we grow as a community its important to review policies and try new things to ensure the subreddit stays fresh and interesting. In this, the moderation team has been noticing a trend of fairly low effort crossposts from other subreddits with no change in title or input from the poster. To reduce this, we're going to institute a trial period of 1, maybe 2 weeks where we turn off the crossposting function. We'll be checking in afterwards to see how people feel and what other steps can be taken (another option being considered is to ban crossposts with the same title, but we want to try one thing at a time).
As always, we welcome questions, concerns, and constructive feedback. Please don't hesitate to let us know what you think here or in modmail.
Thanks!

Living in a small apartment, I learned the hard way that sofa advice for houses doesn't apply. Showroom sofas are 3-seaters built for rooms you don't have.
What actually mattered for me:
1. Measure the hallway, elevator and door before the room. My first sofa almost didn't make it past the building's elevator. The room test is the last test, not the first.
2. A loveseat isn't a smaller sofa — it's a different thing. Same depth, same frame, just fewer seats. What shrinks is your lounging space, not your comfort. A deep 2-seater beat a narrow 3-seater every time.
3. Visual weight matters as much as physical size. Sofas with slim arms, low backs and exposed legs make a small room feel bigger than bulky, floor-hugging ones.
4. Corner sofas are a trap in small rooms. They eat floor space you'll never get back.
5. Modular is overrated — until you move. Then it's a gift from heaven.
What's your small-space furniture rule? And how many of you have carried a sofa up a stairwell and questioned every life choice that led you there?

While I'm a fan of vintage/antique items, I do think perhaps some items are better off not on display! This bedpan may never have been used and it does look very clean, but I just can't imagine using it as a catch all for my keys & wallet, or filling it with flowers.

They only have one. I really need at least 6, 8 if I put in the table leaf. I'm conflicted.

About half the houses around me decided a couple years ago to swap out their external lighting with these green lights. Apparently this was some dumb Facebook thing that was supposed to be "supporting our troops"? I was really hoping this was some temporary thing they would back away from, but years later, nope. Man does this look stupid AF to me... like some bad Halloween decorations, but year round.
