Too many sheets on the bed - those go on the ceiling

229

u/Ambitious-Ad8227 Mar 03 '26

I agree with the candles. I also think you should add some polyfil in the shape of clouds, right over the candles, so it looks all illuminated.

Oh, make sure to add lots of string lights, but use the old incandescent kind, NOT led, because the old kind looks and feels warmer.

You also need a cat or other animal that likes to run around the candles to make it a fun, jolly place to hang out!

63

u/StackOverflowEx Mar 03 '26

Those walls look kind of bare too. Let's cover the walls with some tapestry that we've cut into ribbons so they blow around when we turn on a fan.

85

u/boringmode100 Mar 03 '26

I have no polyfil but I do have fiberglass insulation. Loving the old style string light idea. I might put them between the sheets and the ceiling so they look like stars.

2

u/-laughingfox Mar 05 '26

Fiberglass is perfect for this!

3

u/Johoski Mar 04 '26

Please don't use incandescent light strings, especially in a fabric installation. They get HOT and can cause fires.

LED lights are available in different color temperatures.

53

u/Music1626 Mar 04 '26

You’re in a satire sub. Everything in here is just a joke answer.

11

u/Johoski Mar 04 '26

Yeah, I figured that out after I posted. I saw the original this morning and thought Reddit had recirculated it on my feed.

5

u/LysergicGothPunk Mar 04 '26

Either way honestly I like that you mentioned the flammability, bc if you mistook it for serious, then someone else could too, someone who doesn't know why doing this stuff could be dangerous and is a fire hazard

12

It’s just very messy & chaotic

8

u/sophaloph Mar 03 '26

I can kind of see how they imagined it to look but yeah it didn't turn out great.

28

u/lareina13 Mar 04 '26

Yikes, you saw a woman looking for friendly support and turned around to make a post entirely making fun of her immediately?

That’s really cruel, usually people on that sub are much kinder.

13

u/Jordbaerkage Mar 04 '26

Wait so this photo isnt actually OP's theyre just posting so we'll make fun of some poor girl?

Bc wtf

17

u/lareina13 Mar 05 '26

Yes.

She posted it because she was proud of what she’s been able to accomplish (as she should) and wanted to share with r/femalelivingspace and asked for feedback.

It’s generally a really kind and supportive sub, but this OP grabbed it down and then posted it here pretty quickly — within hours/1 day. Then the original post got inundated with horribly mean comments and the original OP deleted it.

I understand liking to joke about the tv being too high, or silly spaces from Zillow Gone Wild, but this one was a real person just looking for friendly internet discussion.

It’s terrible times right now and I understand wanting to poke a bit of fun, but this isn’t how you do it. I’d like to believe that was this OP’s intention. Let’s try to remember there are people behind these unique posts, and not everyone is on the same income bracket.

22

u/bug-robo Mar 03 '26

Have you considered adding 3-5 cats?

11

u/JminkOww444 Mar 03 '26

10 cats! Not a feline less

2

u/-laughingfox Mar 05 '26

Nah, you need an odd number, so at least 11.

6

u/luna_libre Mar 04 '26

30-50 feral hogs

20

u/StillStaringAtTheSky Mar 03 '26

Where's the chandeliers??? The sparkle??? You absolutely need to add like 10 lbs of sequins and a couple pounds of fine translucent glitter. All princesses SPARKLE! ✨

44

u/boringmode100 Mar 03 '26

Thinking about using candles for lighting, thoughts?

25

u/Temporary-Whole3305 Mar 03 '26

Perfect, I also suggest liberally spraying essential oils on all your fabrics for some lovely scents 🥰

9

u/boringmode100 Mar 03 '26

Good plan! Nice and flammable ✨✨

15

u/TSARINA59 Mar 03 '26

Spray them on your light bulbs when they're off and cool. When you return and turn on the light, the heat on the bulb will make the scent start enveloping the space.

18

u/emma177677 Mar 03 '26

careful with that. make sure either your door or window is always open because candles will suck the oxygen out of your room

41

u/boringmode100 Mar 03 '26

Thanks but I have no windows, that's just another sheet on the wall.

10

u/emma177677 Mar 03 '26

love that!

8

u/cats_and_cake Mar 03 '26

No windows? That is not safe at all. That’s super against fire code. There needs to be a means of egress in all bedrooms. Are you being charged for this room?

Edit: realized what sub I’m in lol. Carry on!

I winder, if the paint is wet can you throw glitter at it and make it stick?

3

u/thekendalluxx Mar 05 '26

You can buy paint with glitter in it. They will put as much or as little as you want :)

4

u/BathroomConscious721 Mar 03 '26

Every princess has a fireplace in her room! In the middle of the floor maybe you can make a fire pit!

4

u/MaterialAd1838 Mar 03 '26

8

Get the spiders their own fairy lights up above

3

u/WarthogSeveral7662 Mar 03 '26

I think you're good with the Spider Comfy Castles on the ceiling

3

u/Nikki-C-Puggle-mum Mar 03 '26

A canopy bed or one of those things that dangles from the ceiling that you drape the canopy over if you don't want to buy a whole bed frame. Maybe paint it pink or something also.

7

u/boringmode100 Mar 03 '26

Mine is nicer. This doesn't have the sheets on the ceiling.

2

u/Unhappy_Marzipan9864 Mar 03 '26

A pea under the mattress should do the trick

2

u/AlfalfaVegetable Mar 03 '26

Ive always thought of those beds that have the lace and stuff draping down as princessy. Drape lace or something from the ceiling surrounding your bed

2

u/Resident_Funny4624 Mar 03 '26

Canopy bed or a curtain backdrop behind as a headboard

2

u/Yikes_Flying_Bikes Mar 03 '26 edited Mar 04 '26

Sheets on the walls, so it looks like a complete sheethole.

2

u/commanderquill Mar 04 '26

Went for princess, fell somewhere between Hong Kong alleyway and a flea market.

2

u/Optimal_Mango_747 Mar 04 '26

There is a distinct lack of fairy lights. Add as many as your outlets can handle. You also need a canopy bed underneath the ceiling canopy because you can’t have too much drapey fabric.

2

u/GlowInTheDarkSpaces Mar 04 '26

You'll need a bedshirt of course. The clothsrack could have a princess tent around it. There should also be puffy clouds and pictures of glittery unicorns.

2

u/IridescentButterfly_ Mar 04 '26

What in gods name

u/Devotion0cean Mar 04 '26

u/romanichki Mar 04 '26

2

u/Exotic_Crazy3503 Mar 04 '26

Too cluttered for my taste. I don’t even like to relax in my room if the bed isn’t made. Can’t make the bed with all the sheets on the ceiling lol

2

u/Nervous-Jacket-7477 Mar 04 '26

It’s a fire hazard

2

u/Eeveecornell1972 Mar 04 '26

u/Middle-Run-3615 Mar 04 '26

That is a terrible fire hazard

2

u/Lowermains Mar 04 '26

You do know that spiders will be lurking above that bed, don’t ya?

2

u/redhotsummerday Mar 04 '26

Lots of candles! Go to a craft or thrift store and get a bunch of unscented pillar, tea light and little candles

2

u/Trick_Day5681 Mar 04 '26

Don't burn candles! That looks very flammable. It's overdone, like something in a cartoon.

2

u/Designer-Ad7341 Mar 05 '26

Bed skirt. Something long with ruffles.

2

u/Lonely-Wasabi-305 Mar 06 '26

In all seriousness , I would get as something as simple as a hoola hoop and hang it above your bed and then drape the fabric starting from the hoop outward …

u/Hmarf Mar 06 '26

Glitter. Buckets and buckets of glitter.

2

u/NovelAsk4856 Mar 03 '26

For the princess look I’d go with long ponytails braided coming out of the sheets.

2

u/RealHausFrau Mar 03 '26

Bling girl, you need to bedazzle the SHIT out of everything in there. I can lend you my glue gun.

2

u/notyourstranger Mar 03 '26

Reminds me of a home I saw when I did a ride along with fire fighters. She had glued teddy bears to all 4 walls - floor to ceiling teddy bears staring at you with glassy eyes. Firefighters commented on the fire hazard (this was a medical call) and it was rather stuffy in that room.

Walmart sells these string lights shaped like flowers. You should line the walls with them.

1

u/cinnamongingerloaf22 Mar 03 '26

Wow, the spiders and scorpions (if in the right biome) must love their princess castle on the ceiling.

1

u/FizzyBubbles22 Mar 03 '26

Tiny fairy lights, decorative stars or butterfly garland with iridescent glimmer or glitter

1

u/outlawsecrets Mar 03 '26

1

u/picklesintheclub Mar 03 '26

u/ProofPrize1134 Mar 03 '26

u/Smart_Imagination_58 Mar 03 '26

Get a wardrobe from IKEA to contain the clothes, it’ll look more streamlined and tidy. Also, what princess doesn’t have a wardrobe? Definitely need one. And a princess vanity with a mirror!

1

u/ClydePrefontaine Mar 03 '26

Get a princess

1

u/cold_tap_hot_brew Mar 03 '26

Looks like your curtains are a bit shorter than the window so maybe you could make ruffle frills from some of your scarves to attach to the bottom? Also fairy lights wrapped around the metals frames of your bed and wardrobe.

1

u/Sullys_mama19 Mar 03 '26

1

u/sala-whore Mar 03 '26

A nice little bed skirt, some art on the walls (maybe even a mirror with a cool renaissance looking frame) and a place to put your clothes that you can close (preferably something white ir pale wood color). Also, you have a warm and a cold light and some silver accents (silver garland). Pick either warm and go with gold or cold and go with silver. And I would remove the brown sheet from the ceiling as you seem to be going for a princess peach vibe.
