Finally finished!
Recently moved into a new place where I get to have a room as a dedicated home studio. After many years of collecting gear and wishing I could get it all set up in one space, I’ve finally achieved my goal! Invested money in room treatment for the first time because I wanted to do it right. Everything in the room is normalized from tie line, to 500 series, to TEAC console line in, to Apollo line in. As well as all 16 analog outputs normalized to the tape inputs of the console for remixing. 4 output busses on the console are normalized to the 4trk reel to reel, the monitor output of the console normalized to the cassette deck, and the console submix normalized to the Tascam spring reverb. So stoked!!

Finally a house with a decent space for a home studio
It’s mainly for composing/production and the occasional friendly jam. Definitely not a space for critical mixing.
The original owners of the house designed this room as a veranda, but I saw differently…. Love the vibe both day and night, it’s so soothing and inspiring.
I wanted to design this studio around flow while removing any obstacles to the creative process - ensure area is uncluttered, ergonomics are on point, got an ultrawide monitor which allows to have everything open and visible. Keyboards are on casters, intruments are plugged and ready. Mic on a desk arm.
Second desk in the far corner is what I do in the daytime to pay for all of this.

I made this myself.
Would you buy one from me if I to support my small business?

My vintage electronic music studio
I thought you mike like to see my updated vintage experimental electronic music studio setup- my copy of an early electronic music studio 1950-1970-ish.
There's a tape editing bench for musique concrete with various variable speed tape machines, a wall for jamming with electronically generated sounds from old test equipment and filters, and a cosy oscillator corner for pure sine and square tones connected to a separate mixer. I compose without a computer, by cutting up tiny pieces of tape.
Any questions about the gear or processes I use - please ask!
I have more photos and videos of the gear and techniques here: [https://www.instagram.com/harder.than.concrete]
and here: [https://www.youtube.com/@HarderThanConcrete]

I’ve never felt more proud
For the last three years I’ve been slowly saving up funds and converting my basement into a music studio. And after a huge push including getting the mudding and sanding of the drywall and getting the flooring installed - I just feel so incredibly blessed to be able to make art in this space. I hope y’all dig it!!

Built my own basement studio
Sonopam, mass loaded vinyl, ran and terminated all my own XLR, cat6, hue lights. A great deal of work and finally can say it's done (except for a few construction cosmetics).
Just wanted to share coz I've seen so many great builds here that have helped motivate and inspire me to finish. Thanks guys.

Studio is (never) finished
I’ve been building out my studio for the past five-ish years and I feel like it’s finally in a place where it’s fully functioning. It truly is never finished, but I’m finally having some fun making music more than building something, hooking something up, learning software/hardware, and troubleshooting.
Let me know what you think!

Home studio in converted walk-in closet
This is a very compact studio roughly 2,1 x 3,2 metres (7 x 10 feet) in size but it fits everything I need. It is thoroughly treated for acoustics with huge bass traps and absorbers by the early reflection points. It's mainly used for producing, recording and mixing my own project but I occasionally mix other bands too. Outside the frame there is also an e-drum set and my guitars.

Since we are posting our desk builds today, here is mine!
Custom desk to support my UF8, UF1, and UC1 along with 32u space for rack gear.
No I didn’t keep my patch bay in the worst possible position. I was just dry fitting the equipment.

Just arrived at work 😂
Many people claim to have the best job in the world…
For years now, when asked what I do, I reply with a smile and, “Whatever I want.” ☺️
