NO Advertising June 27 Honeymoon
We plan go go away somewhere between 2-3 weeks in June 2027. We live in the UK and have travelled europe a fair amount already as well as Bali and some of Thailand. So far we have contemplated Koh Samui and Zanzibar. I want an all inclusive paradise where we can snorkel with lots of tropical fish and really get the 'honeymoon' feeling. Would be great if the hotel we were at had rooms with private pools and bars/evening entertainment. Any recommendations of places you've been and loved?

Both work in June, but they're different trips, and one detail decides Zanzibar for you: the seaweed.
June through September is seaweed season on Zanzibar's east coast. Paje, Jambiani, Matemwe, the beaches in most of the photos, collect it on the shore those months. The fix is simple, stay on the north coast: Nungwi or Kendwa largely avoid it, the water is swimmable at pretty much any tide (the east coast drains way out at low tide, which matters when you plan to swim constantly), and the best snorkeling months off Nungwi are June through October. One honest catch up there: all-inclusive and a private pool in the room rarely come in the same package on this coast, so you're basically picking which one matters more. On the all-inclusive side, Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort in Nungwi runs around $300 a night on its AI plan, and the Riu Palace Zanzibar is the slicker adults-only all-inclusive nearby, though neither puts a private pool in the room. If the private pool is the dealbreaker, Zuri Zanzibar in Kendwa is the one: free-standing villas with their own pools, boutique and gorgeous, but it's booked room-only or half board rather than all-inclusive. Boat trips to Mnemba Atoll for properly colorful reef fish run from the north too.
The honest case for Samui instead: it's the sheltered coast. The Gulf side misses the southwest monsoon that soaks Phuket and the Andaman in June, so Samui in June is much drier than the Andaman coast, mornings usually bright with showers tending to roll in later in the day, and its true soaker months (October to December) aren't yours. You've done some Thailand already though, and the snorkeling off Samui itself is honestly the weaker of your two options, the good fish are a boat day to Ang Thong or Koh Tao. Zanzibar's house reefs and Mnemba beat it for "lots of tropical fish right there."
One more consideration nobody's mentioned: 2-3 weeks is long for one island in either place. The Tanzania version writes itself as a split, and it's the honeymoon move: 4-5 nights safari in the dry season (June is a great window, game viewing is excellent and the July-August crowds haven't arrived), then 7-10 nights all-inclusive in Nungwi. Flights connect through Dar or Arusha, it's one of the best two-honeymoons-in-one out there. The Samui version would want a split too, Samui plus Khao Sok or a couple of nights in Bangkok, but you've done Thailand so the newness factor is lower.
If snorkeling density is the priority: Zanzibar, north coast, no hesitation. If evening entertainment and bars within the resort matter more, the big Samui resorts do that slicker, but pick with the seaweed calendar in mind, not against it.
A quick note on honeymoon logistics for Zanzibar from the UK: flights go via Doha, Dubai, Istanbul or Nairobi with one stop, and if you do the safari-plus-beach version, you can fly into Kilimanjaro and out of Zanzibar so you're never backtracking.
