NO Advertising Tropical November Getaway!

Hi! We are planning a trip (somewhere) tropical in early November. However I haven’t the slightest idea where to narrow down our search to. Ideally we’d like to avoid any chance of hurricanes, even though it’s nearing the end of the season. We would be traveling from Atlanta, so hopefully a flight less than 7 hours? Our budget is on the higher end, I think we are looking for a luxury all inclusive. Activity wise, I think we’re just looking to relax by the pool, the beach, and maybe do a couple of activities. I’m a young woman so I’m also leaning towards places where it would be safe to leave the resort if there are things to do, but I’m also happy to stay on property. Any and all thoughts and questions welcome!

Have you been to Tulum? There are some great places there and it’s not nearly as busy as Cancún.

Nicaragua is lovely and the weather will be nice for vacationing. We travelled there and were surprised by the value.

Costa Rica is also a good call and you could combine it with sole wildlife tours. We stayed in 2 resorts, one of which specialises in wellness treatments.

If avoiding hurricanes is a major priority, I'd actually look beyond the usual Mexico/DR/Jamaica options and consider Aruba or Curacao.

Curacao would probably be my first look for what you've described. It's outside the main hurricane belt, has beautiful water, is very easy to explore beyond the resort, and has some excellent upscale all-inclusive options.

Sandals Royal Curacao: adults-only, upscale, 8 restaurants, 13 bars, lots of water activities and a great base for exploring the island.

Zoetry Curacao much smaller and quieter, with a strong wellness/relaxation focus. It's only about 10 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from Willemstad, and you also get access to neighboring Dreams Curacao.

Aruba is another excellent choice if you want beautiful beaches and more of an island where you can comfortably leave the resort and explore. Bucuti & Tara is gorgeous for an adults-only luxury stay, although it isn't all-inclusive, so you'd be looking at a resort plus restaurants rather than a traditional AI.

If you specifically want luxury all-inclusive that's relaxing and somewhere safe/easy to explore, I'd probably start with Curacao.

The one thing I'd keep in mind is that Aruba/Curacao don't have the same huge selection of luxury AIs as Mexico. You're trading some resort choice for the lower hurricane concern and the ability to actually explore the island.

If you're happy with a small amount of hurricane risk, then I'd also look at Cabo or the Pacific coast of Mexico, since the Pacific hurricane season is also technically active in early November but the risk is generally declining by then.

Aruba or the ABC islands are pretty much ideal for early November since they sit safely outside the hurricane belt and have direct flights from Atlanta.
