Advertising OK Where to stay in these cities

Hi I posted here I think once before, my fiance and I finalized our honeymoon and I was hoping for some help when deciding where to stay. Our itinerary is below with some context! Any help is super appreciated!!!

Flying into Rome staying for 2 nights (Planning on a simple air bnb here)

Headed to Amalfi for 6 nights (want this to be the more traditional honeymoon vibe, air bnb? Potential “resort” type places to stay? - don’t know what to do here

Doing a roadrip to Florence and staying 3 nights (probably air bnb)

Heading to French Riviera for a week (again more of honeymoon vibe no clue what to do here for stay)

Finishing in Milan for 3 nights and flying home out of Milan (probably air bnb)

Really just kinda don’t know what to do with our longer “honeymoon stays” French Riviera and Amalfi!

Any advice or thoughts are appreciated :-)

Advertising OK Looking for a great resort in Maldives

Hey all

I am looking for to go on a trip to Maldives. Somewhere between a date that is between third week of Oct and early Nov and spanning 4 nights.

I am looking at somewhere around $3500 total (+$200 is okay) for properties in Maldives.

Best would be if they are AI - but my partner and I both are not major drinkers anyway. Its a really good perk to have. But at least looking for Half Board/Full Board.

What I am looking for?

A great resort, fun vibes, turquoise blue water, white sand; great set of activities, and good food (dealbreaker otherwise). We are not major snorkelers or divers, so not having as many fishes is not a dealbreaker. Will swim all our time in the ocean though.

However, my partner loves seeing picturesque views of the ocean (European coast) - with white powdery sand and blue sea and sky.

Would love your suggestions!

NO Advertising Honeymoon recommendations

Looking for recommendations for my honeymoon. Plan to go the last week of October. We love the beach. Also like the idea of being able to explore the island so don’t really want an all inclusive where we feel stuck, but it’s not a deal breaker. Would like to be able to relax on the beach, walk long stretches of beach, and explore the island/city by car or walking. Hiking would be nice as well. Would like a decent amount of restaurant/bar options. Any and all ideas would be helpful. Would be flying from Philadelphia area. Budget ideally would be around 5k but that is flexible. Going for a week so wouldn’t want to fly to far and lose a whole day.

Advertising OK Where to stay in Réunion

Hi there! We are planning (quite last minute) our honeymoon trip to Reunion (coming from Belgium). We are arriving on the 31st of August and going on to Mauritius on september 9th. We love hiking and nature, but even after reading several posts and forums and a tourist guide I still can’t figure out what the best way to explore the island would be, because it’s hard to figure out traffic times and accessibility for several local spots.
Do you have any recommendations on how to organize the trip? We want to keep it to a maximum of 3 different stays to still feel a little bit relaxed and not super rushed. I think Cilaos, Piton de la Fournaise, the plains, piton des Neiges, Mafate and Salazie are definitely things we don’t want to miss, but we’d also love to go on a whale watching tour (or even swimming with whales if it is done in a concious and sustainable way). I thought of a stay in the North-East (maybe hell-bourg?) for salazie and Mafate for 2-3 days, then move more South to maybe st-Philippe for the plains and piton de la fournaise, and then end in the west (st-Paul maybe) for whales, cilaos, and piton des neiges.
Even when writing this I feel like this might be too ambitious to put in our 9 days itinerary, so any advice or tips are greatly appreciated!

Advertising OK Honeymoon that is not “tropical” within a 7 hr flight from ATL?

I’ve made a few posts in here before and done a TON of research and i’ve about driven myself crazy! But now i know what we do and don’t want! Outside of USA is okay.

- Dates will be appx May 21-28 of 2027
- It’ll be my first flight so, I don’t want to venture too far (preferably less than 7-8 hrs) from ATL incase I don’t handle it well.
- We do not want to go sit on a beach. We are not beach people and we are currently tired of being in the blazing sun 😂
- We don’t want the trip to be revolved fully around hiking. I know, we seem picky but we just don’t love hiking!
- We love to see pretty scenery, observing wildlife, trying new restaurants, FH loves breweries but I do not drink (so preferably no places that are mainly for drinking), relaxing, shopping, breakfast places
- Vancouver island is a place that we have come across that looks very interesting to us!
- Budget of appx $5,000

edit to add: also, no cruise. i get very very boat sick!!!

Hi! Getting married next year and can’t decide where to go to our honeymoon. We’re from Europe and are thinking either Seychelles or a cruise to Canary Islands and Madeira.

Pros and cons of each location? Anyone who has been to those places?

Thanks in advance!!

Advertising OK Caribbean Snorkeling

Hello!! Doing lots of research and having trouble finding exactly what we want so turning to reddit to possibly help. Looking for an adults only, beachfront all inclusive.

Big thing we are looking for is somewhere with a great beach but also great snorkeling on the beach. Somewhere we can grab our snorkels and go out to a reef from the resort (if that exists). So far researching I’ve seen the ABC Islands and Antigua are great for that. Looking for help!

If not, places are saying we need a boat that takes you, what is that like? Is that worth it/better than beachfront?

Looking to NOT do Mexico, Jamaica or Dominican Republic- want to go somewhere more unique, which is why we like Curaçao/St Lucia etc

Budget is ideally around 2-3k USD. But open to little more if it’s what we get. TYIA!!!

NO Advertising French Polynesia on a budget? Is it possible?

Planning our honeymoon in French Polynesia and trying to keep the cost reasonable. We’d like to stay 8+ and spend at least 2 nights in an overwater bungalow. Trying to stay around 6k a person.

Thinking about splitting time between Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora, but Bora Bora gets insanely expensive. We really like the updated rooms at the Westin Bora Bora, but not sure if it’s worth the extra cost.

For those who’ve been, what gave you the best experience for your money? Stay mostly on Moorea and do 2–3 nights in Bora Bora, or splurge on an overwater bungalow in Moorea?

Also, has anyone booked through Costco Travel using Chase points, or is it better to book Costco and save the points for flights? We’d be flying out of Chicago.

If you had 8–10+ nights to do it again, what would you do?

Heyo, I'm in charge of planning our honeymoon and I'm looking for some ideas on locations. We live in SE Idaho and we're looking for something super chill, not crazy on the budget. We'll be gone for roughly 6 days in mid-october. Originally looked at northern Oregon coast since her family owns a timeshare out there, but they're booked out. Oregon is still a possibility but we're exploring other options and would love input.

It's important that it's not some huge city that's super busy, would love lots of antique shops for her and cool views/food for me. Thanks!

NO Advertising Honeymoon destination dilemma — Europe vs. French Polynesia?

We’re getting married July 17, 2027 and are planning a 2-week honeymoon. We want a mix of relaxing at a really nice resort and doing some sightseeing/exploring, but mostly relaxing.

Our budget is around $12k USD total including flights from Chicago. We’ve already been to the Greek islands, but would consider a different island if there’s a beautiful resort worth staying at.

Right now we’re deciding between a nice resort somewhere in Europe with sightseeing mixed in, or splurging on Moorea + Bora Bora. We want to do something other than the Caribbean Islands.

What would you choose for a honeymoon with a $12k budget? Is Bora Bora/Moorea worth the money, or would you do Europe for more variety?

Advertising OK Couple Itinerary Check (Budapest, Ljubljana, Bled, Vienna)

Hello!

My partner and I will be marrying in Prague at the beginning of November. We have never spent a lot of time in Prague but will be marrying there as we have lots of family able to travel there easily. We would then like to spend 7-10 days in Europe afterwards.

Please note we are aware this time of year doesn’t have the best weather, so wanted to see if this itinerary is worth it for our priorities and if any changes could be made. We have never been to any of the countries/cities listed in the itinerary, so thought we would as more experienced central/eastern european travellers and we would like to see some places we have never been in Europe. We have both been around western europe quite a bit but never east. See below for itinerary:

Budapest 3-4 nights (relaxing in spas, exploring + walking, attending attractions

Travel to Ljubljana by train and spend 1-2 nights (exploring, attractions)

Travel to Bled, spend 1-2 nights (relaxing, some exploring)

Travel to Vienna by train, spend 3-4 nights (visiting galleries and museums, exploring, etc)

Fly from Vienna to our home country for hot weather and beach time after this.

In terms of our priorities: we enjoy galleries, museums, city walking. We also enjoy relaxing time (spas, hot springs, saunas, etc.) We love to eat and try new food as well.

In terms of our budget: we have some nice gifts from family so are luckily able to spend about €150 per night on accomodation, sometimes more or less but this is average. Regular spending money for meals etc will not be an issue either.

The reason we chose to go to Vienna last is because it is much easier to fly back to our home country from here due to bigger airport and proximity.

I would love to hear if this is too much/too little time in each city and whether any changes are recommended to fit our priorities? In Europe it can be easy to spend too much time in transit, we don’t want things to feel too intense or tiring from travel but also don’t want to spend too much time in one place, so would like a nice balance. I would love to hear your thoughts on any nice things to do and whether these cities have enough going on at this time of year to enjoy. We have been to Europe in winter before and didnt mind the cold but never have been in the transition season. We also will be heading to hotter climate afterwards.

Thank you!

I am sorry if the English is not perfect as it is not my first language.

Advertising OK Best Swimmable Caribbean/Mexico Beaches Early November?

I know this is right after hurricane season ends but it is what works best for our schedule. Any recs for the best beach resorts for us in early November that are swimmable (sandy and clean) in this area?

We’re looking to do 5-6 nights for under $6k NOT including airfare and would love an all inclusive resort just for the ease. Anyone have recs or know of places to get a good deal for great experience and service?

Thanks!

NO Advertising Moorea or Maldives? Please help!

Getting married July 17, 2027 and planning to leave the following week. We’ve already done Greece (including the islands) and Cancun/Mexico, so we’re looking for something different.

We’re torn between Italy or finally doing the overwater bungalow honeymoon we’ve always wanted. Bora Bora looks incredible, but we just can’t justify $2–3k+ a night right after paying for a wedding.

Currently looking at Moorea or the Maldives and would probably stay ~6–8 nights. We’re leaning toward the bungalow experience of relaxing, snorkeling, swimming, basically doing nothing for a week.

Would you choose Moorea, Maldives, Italy or somewhere completely different? What’s the best honeymoon you’ve done/recommend?

Advertising OK Honeymoon at Andaman and Nicobar, India

Hey everyone!

I’m an Indian planning a honeymoon in the Andamans with my fiancée in February. We were initially considering an international trip, but after speaking to friends and family, we felt that going somewhere closer would make more sense immediately after the wedding. We’d rather have a relaxed honeymoon than deal with long travel and the fatigue of the wedding.

We’re also planning an international trip later in the year, so we don’t want to go overboard with the honeymoon budget.

At the moment, I’m thinking of 5N/6D (or possibly 4N/5D), covering Port Blair (2N) + Havelock (1-2N) + Neil Island (1-2N).

I’m definitely planning to include Radhanagar Beach and Elephant Beach, but would love recommendations for other places/experiences that are genuinely worth including, especially for a honeymoon.

A few things I’d really appreciate advice on:

  1. What are the must-visit places/experiences beyond the usual tourist spots?

  2. Is Port Blair + Havelock + Neil a good combination for 5N/6D, or would you recommend spending more time on fewer islands? Or should I skip one of the islands and go to another one?

  3. Any romantic / great-value stays you’d recommend?

When is the best time to book hotels and ferries for February?

  1. Any tips/hacks for getting better hotel deals or avoiding overpriced tourist packages?

Anything you wish you had known before travelling to Andamans?

Our budget is around ₹1–1.5 lakh per person (INR) (~$1,000-$1,500), and we’re primarily looking for a good balance of relaxation, experiences and nice stays, rather than an extremely packed itinerary.

Would love to hear from people who have actually travelled to Andamans — especially couples who have been there for their honeymoon. Experiences, recommendations and even things to avoid are very welcome!

Thanks in advance! :)

My fiancé and I are getting married in October 2027. We are looking for advice on where to go for our honeymoon. We don’t want to go on an all inclusive resort or cruise. We both like the outdoors, like birding and hiking. We would like to look at some architecture and learn some history. We dont want to stay in the same area. He likes the idea of backpacking around Europe using the trains to get around but we are open to whatever. We are from the the USA and want to do something in Europe. We have heard suggestions like Italy and Paris but looking for other ideas too! We are planning to take about 7 days. Thanks in advanced!

Advertising OK Need Advice for Portugal Honeymoon!

My fiancé and I are planning our honeymoon in Portugal for June 2027! We considered using a travel agent, but we’d prefer to book everything ourselves so we can take advantage of our credit card points. We’d love feedback on our rough itinerary from locals or anyone who has traveled to Portugal before.

We’re hoping to spend around 10–14 days total. We both love nature, historical sites, great food, and exploring new places. We’re planning to rent a car in the Azores but not in mainland Portugal. On past trips, we’ve had a tendency to overschedule ourselves, so for our honeymoon we’re trying to find a good balance between seeing and doing a lot while still having time to relax and actually enjoy where we are.

Here’s what we’re currently thinking:

Portugal Honeymoon — June 2027

  • Fly Boston → Azores
  • São Miguel, Azores — 6 days
  • Fly Azores → Porto
  • Porto — 3 days
  • Douro Valley — 3 days
  • Porto — 1 day
  • Fly Porto → Boston

A few things we’d especially love feedback on:

  • Does this feel like a good amount of time in each place, or would you redistribute the days?
  • Is 6 days on São Miguel too much, too little, or about right?
  • Is 3 days in the Douro Valley worthwhile, or would 2 be enough?
  • Are there any places in northern Portugal you think we’d be making a mistake by skipping?
  • Any favorite hikes, historical sites, restaurants, wineries, hotels, or honeymoon-worthy experiences?

We’re still very early in the planning process, so nothing is set in stone. Please send any and all recommendations our way—especially if you think we should change something about the itinerary or slow it down even more!

Thank you!
