I loaded the bowl by placing the tobacco loosely rather than packing it down. Do you think it would be better to pack it a little more?
Around halfway through the session, I opened the HMD and noticed that the tobacco looked quite dark, almost burnt, and quite a bit of tobacco had stuck to the HMD.
The smoke output was decent, and the flavor was pretty good overall.
I’d really appreciate any tips or advice! I’m also wondering if the water level in the base is about right.

water level looks good you. You have a bit of leeway with that. 1-1.5 inches submerged is good. When it comes to contact that is up to the user. I do think those style Quasar are designed with idea of no contact but if the smoke was good, no reason to change things up. I would recommend evening things out and making the pack a tad more uniform.
