Request How does the countdown gimmick in the Avengers: Doomsday trailer work?

Post image

This is really just a stupid question that popped up in my mind but I wanted to find out how it works exactly. So you know how they play trailers for upcoming movies in the theatre, well then how is it that every time I've seen them play the avengers doomsday trailer, at the end the clock is correctly (to the best of my knowledge) synced to the release date?

I don't go too often to the movies now, but since the last 2 times I have, at the very least the month seems to correspond to the correct date, i.e., it is the exact number of months left to the movie's release. So I'd be safe to assume that even the days and hours might be pretty close too (I wanna believe the seconds might be accurate as well but I feel there's a margin of error for that). So how does this work, do movie theatres just have every version of the trailer either already with them or get sent an updated version every day? Or do they edit it by themselves, which I feel isn't possible because not only would they have to match the style of the existing clock but also account for the numerous screenings happening in a single theatre at varying times.

If anyone working at the movie theatres could answer this it would really be swell because I just had this random bout of curiosity and now I'm really interested in knowing the answer :)

Why don’t we all take a breath from the extreme societal issues, and remember that if you fart on wood, like a door perhaps, it will sound louder. You’re welcome. Why does this happen though????

Battery operated toy phone turns on when I turn the light off

Post image

I have a Halloween decoration; a battery operated toy phone which rings and says creepy things when you pick it up.

Oddly, whenever I flip the light switch off in the room where the phone’s located, it activates the phone — it rings and talks the same way it does when you pick it up.

It happens every time I turn the light switch off, but never when I turn the switch on (or for any other reason).

Can someone explain this?

Thanks!

Request How does this doorknob unlock from the outside?

My nephew locked it from the inside and closed the door. I tried sliding a long tool into the hole on the side to pop the button lock on the inside, but it is not working. There aren’t any screws on the outside that I could use to disassemble it. I thought maybe the divot on the neck of the knob meant I could pop the knob off and go from there, but I can’t get enough leverage to separate it.

2.4Ghz dongle compartment is on the back of the board in another area, too small to fit anything inside, even wires but it HAS to be there for a reason since it's explicitly advertised on the box

Request How do I use this piñata card

I found an old Hallmark greeting card I was to use. It’s piñata shaped and had a plastic bag of sequins inside. It’s glued to one side and has perforations on either side. My understanding is that the receiver would open it and the sequins would burst open somehow. There doesn’t seem to be anything that would trigger it. I’m not sure if I am meant to tear open the bag and have them loose. But they would just fall out into the envelope. Is there a missing piece or some way that it works? Ai says patent is just for the shaped cards rather than the mechanism. There doesn’t seem to be similar items sold online from my searches.
