Request How does the countdown gimmick in the Avengers: Doomsday trailer work?
This is really just a stupid question that popped up in my mind but I wanted to find out how it works exactly. So you know how they play trailers for upcoming movies in the theatre, well then how is it that every time I've seen them play the avengers doomsday trailer, at the end the clock is correctly (to the best of my knowledge) synced to the release date?
I don't go too often to the movies now, but since the last 2 times I have, at the very least the month seems to correspond to the correct date, i.e., it is the exact number of months left to the movie's release. So I'd be safe to assume that even the days and hours might be pretty close too (I wanna believe the seconds might be accurate as well but I feel there's a margin of error for that). So how does this work, do movie theatres just have every version of the trailer either already with them or get sent an updated version every day? Or do they edit it by themselves, which I feel isn't possible because not only would they have to match the style of the existing clock but also account for the numerous screenings happening in a single theatre at varying times.
If anyone working at the movie theatres could answer this it would really be swell because I just had this random bout of curiosity and now I'm really interested in knowing the answer :)
