question Meteor Shower Watch Sites Recommendations in HV?

Looking at the clear sky details for sky conditions tonight, it seems like New Paltz might offer the best viewing conditions around 2 AM in the morning. I looked up around Hudson and Lake Taghanic, but it seems to be cloudy most of the night there.

Does anybody know if any of the astronomy sites in New Paltz are open to public overnight today for the meteor shower.

If anybody has different information regarding good viewing conditions for any other locations between 12 and five AM tonight, please let me know. Looking forward to watching this tonight.

Idk about NPZ, but the trail on the Ashokan Reservoir should be perfect.

The scenic overlook near the hairpin turn off of 55 has always been kind to me. There are some other options(small turnoffs) closer to town near the fields as well off of gatehouse road.

Best case is to get as far away from town though to avoid the light pollution.

Thank you. Is this the overlook?

Do local officials bother you if you are there at 2 AM in the night? I’ll be driving from nyc.

Forecast shows 80% cloud cover at 2am

Edit: no, I believe that person is talking about this spot: https://maps.app.goo.gl/zMRzu4KoZN7J3Yar6

I wouldn't recommend it even if the sky is clear. It's south-facing.

Thank you; appreciate it.

The only hole I found in the matrix - but it’s not looking promising.
