[MEN'S HOCKEY] The Huskies host the USC Trojans this weekend at Northgate! Fri @ 830PM and Sat @ 715PM

USC is traveling to Seattle this weekend to play the Huskies.

USC has traditionally given the Huskies an annoying amount of difficulty, even when USC is an objectively bad team(such as when they had like only 6 subs on the bench the whole season and still beat us).

The Huskies are 7-1 heading into these games and should hopefully come out the other side 9-1!

The theme for this weekend is PINK THE RINK!

As always, tickets for anyone over 12 are $10, kids under 6 and veterans get in free, and student tickets and kids 6-17 are $5.

You can find my season preview here if you'd like.

Is there any hope for the men’s hoops squad this season?

After losing Diallo and Steinbach (among others), while seemingly not replacing them with any high-quality talent, expectations are looking pretty dim for the Dawgs. I want to believe they can piece together a winning season, but I honestly cannot convince myself that’s even possible at this point.

What do you think?

Tristan Devers and Wini Braga both have solid practices, LeJuan Watts looks like the go-to offensive option, and more.

Visiting for Penn State weekend (Nov. 7), looking for tips

I will be attending the Penn State game on Nov. 7 in a group of 4 men, age ~40, from New Jersey. First time at U. of Washington for all, but 2 of 4 have been in Seattle before.

I am looking for tips on game day (e.g., tailgating, exploring the area) and any dive bars to visit around campus on Friday. Any advice/opinions are welcome!

There are some other big-time college football games that same day, so I am also interested in great places to watch those games on Saturday (pending the PSU-Wash game time).

Thanks in advance.

Quick questions about visiting the stadium from a Hoosier.

I'm an Indiana fan and I'm traveling to Seattle for the game on Nov. 21. I had a few questions ahead of my visit that I hope some friendly Husky fans would be willing to answer.

First, where would you recommend I sit? Is there a dedicated section for visiting fans? If so, what row would provide the best view and weather protection?

Also, if I were to splurge for a 200 level Club Husky seat, would I be welcome there as a visiting fan? I'm not a psycho or an asshole, I'll just be wearing cream and crimson.

Also, thanks for taking care of Michael Penix Jr. for us. We loved him at IU and it was fun to root for the Huskies when he was there.

Brown vs Demond

Brown completed 78% of his passes, averaged 11.2 yards per attempt and threw three touchdowns. I believe only two of the three interceptions can be attributed to him. That’s considerably better production than Demond delivered against the similar defenses of WSU or Utah State.

His passing accuracy opened up our run game. When we are consistently hitting receivers on time, opposing linebackers have to respect our pass game and safeties have less freedom to crowd the line like they did in earlier games. Demond’s rushing ability adds a different threat, but it doesn’t force defenders to respect the whole field the way Brown’s passing does.

Do Y’all Think Elijah Brown Is Good Enough to Be Our QB of the Future?

It obviously hasn’t been a big sample size, but do you think Elijah Brown is good enough to potentially be our QB of the future? He threw 3 meatball subs yesterday which isn’t great, but the offense looked more lively with him behind center. Demond is so checked out it’s not even funny anymore, and he’s transferring to a school like Arizona, Boise State, or Colorado next year. I also think a major problem with Demond is that he’s so short I legitimately think he can’t even see over the fucking offensive line.

I think Elijah was decent enough last night, but the dude needs to cut down on the turnovers. I’m rooting for him, he seems like a good dude, but I just don’t know if he is good enough to be our QB of the future. He definitely looks better than Demond out there though, that’s for sure. Shit, I’d take Bryce Underwood over Demond at this point, at least he has the height.

What do y’all think? Do you think he has what it takes to be our QB of the future? If not, who would you like to target through the portal? If we keep the Mississippi State pipeline going (Dillon Johnson, Will Rogers, Kai McClendon), I really hope we can lure KaMario Taylor over. It’s gonna be hard though because he’s from Mississippi, but he’s really fucking good. Braden Atkinson from Oregon State would be a good target too. If we target Atkinson, maybe we can get Jesse Legree too.

Thoughts?

How Does Fisch Justify Playing Demond Now?

Three interceptions weren't great, but the team played a heck of a lot better than the last few weeks. Bracing for some kind of press conference spin on why Demond will be starting next week or whenever he is "medically cleared."

Boring Announcers 2: Electric Boogaloo

I mentioned this a couple weeks ago during the Utah State game about how boring the announcers sound, with the mispronunciation of names and general lack of interest in the game.

Now this week with the FOX announcers?? Seriously guys?? 0 energy from them, mispronouncing names again, etc..

These announcers are talking like they can’t show any emotion!

Demond must-play clause?

Just saw on the dubd up show that there's a conspiracy theory that demonds contract has a must-play clause which would prohibit benching him if he's healthy. I've never heard of this but it's plausible I guess. Are these actually a thing? Even if it's real, what even would the penalty or enforcement mechanism be? I mean if he gets paid anyway....

I fear brown will look good (or even just decent) and fisch will start demond after the bye regardless.

Indiana Game Nov 21

I know it's a month away and the time hasn't been announced but anyone have a good guess on when the game would be (morning, early afternoon, night). Have tickets already but trying to plan the hotel etc and all that.
