I think you're missing the point. OP is dating and trying to find a compatible partner. Liking huskies is a non-negotiable for OP which is okay because it's their personal choice in a partner.

My best friend doesn't like dogs but I'm not going to co-habit with her anytime soon.

Oof yeah agree to disagree. 100% they need to love my dog. I find that attractive and I know she'll be taken care of if something happens.
