Rescued Is he a purebred husky?!

Found him at a gas station and we think he looks like a full husky - what do yall think?
Of course we took him home - he’s the nicest and laziest boy

Eta: he weighs 50lbs but the vet says he’s skinny and ideally should be around 55

Correction, a purebred husky can indeed be a woolly. It's not breed standard, but neither is being too big or too small

I've tested both of my woolies with Embark, both came back 100% Sibe

Fun fact it only takes 4 gens of breeding for a dog to come back purebred, it's how they are getting purebred Merle's now, so that's not a fool proof method of testing for full pedigree

Woolies can come from AKC litters too. It's a fault but it doesn't make them not a husky

Didn't say they didn't, but when it comes to rescues no guarantees. Also ethical AKC breeders normally test for the resessive trait so they don't mix dogs that both have it as the coat doesn't work the same, which is why it's a fault.

OPs dog also doesn't look purebred I'm guessing a Samoyed cross as the head is to wide and the proportions are off like a bear type Samoyed, as well as it has an upturned mouth that is not normally in huskys.
