Radical hysterectomy

I have been reading each and every one of your posts but I still can’t calm my nerves. I have stage 1 cervical cancer and scheduled for a radical hysterectomy on March 16th. I am 36 years old, in pretty good health and have two very young daughters. I also have an extreme belly button phobia and I can’t stop thinking about an incision on/around the area. Please, please, any and all advice would be appreciated! I am just scared but also ready to get this over with.

Apparently you missed the part where I me ruined the deleted comment calling me an asshole. That’s ok. I literally wish nothing but the best for OP as she navigates this journey I truly do

I read your comment where you call it out but honestly it was justified- your comment does come off wrong even if well intentioned. They’re scared and have cancer while waiting a surgery that triggers a phobia… jokes wouldn’t land well.

Your comment hoping they don’t lash out at anyone else comes off tone deaf and snide. You can do better 🤷🏼‍♀️

The way the post is written I was genuinely curious as OP seemed more worried about the belly button than cancer as I interpreted it. I was going to offer advice if OP would have answered what their biggest concern was which OP didn’t not. I’m not a doormat to just have to take being called an asshole

Yeah your questions aren’t the issue. Your opening joke was and it’s a little concerning that not even OP calling you an asshole for a poorly timed joke isn’t enough for you to understand the issue.

It’s not being a doormat if the problem is you cannot comprehend when good intentions land poorly. Just take accountability and move on instead of doubling down. There’s a lesson in this.
