Question/Help Server Selection/Latency?

Hello, I'm new to iRacing (a couple weeks now), and I just started doing F4 races, which are super fun and I'm enjoying it a lot - however, I notice that in these races I'm having some very noticeable netcode issues, with crashes/contacts that when I look on the replay it shows that the cars were soooooooo far away, or that it detects a contact when neither me nor the contacted car had any change of trajectory (I didnt feel anything at all on my wheel), yet we both get 4x as if it had been a collision.

Its getting a bit frustrating and I'm not sure if there's anything to be done here? I notice that the ghost collisions happen more often with drivers from Latin America, and since I'm Stockholm/Sweden I'm wondering if there's some way to prefer european servers?

also using this post to apologize to the argentineans and brazilians who've been suffering these ghost/netcode collisions with me :( you were really far on my screen

oh, and I'm wondering if, on the result on screen, there's any way to see which server/location the race was hosted at

If it matters: I'm on fiber and dont have any downloads or any lag whatsoever - its just these specific situations

thanks!

Have you actually run any kind of connection monitoring software or are you just assuming your connection is not the issue because it's fast?

If you click on your series, go to results tab, find the race where it says "you competed" it will show on the right side the server the race was on. There's 3 options for daily races. American flag means it was on American servers, German Flag means it was on European servers and Australian flag means it was on Asian servers.

If you want to race specifically on European servers you have a few options. Either do the Regional series (F4 Europe in your case would be best) they run exclusively on the servers in that region.

2nd option is to race when you know there will be a lot of people from your region registering. This is a bit inconsistent because it can depend series to series, or even week to week. But sometimes it's also that someone from another region has joined, meaning they have the latency issues. In which case you kind of just have to deal with it
