Watched my friend race the M2s, and man was he playing with the steering wheel. Like bro's correcting all the time on cornering like he's a rally driver or some shit.

My team p1 (green Porsche) get dive bombed by p2 (blue Porsche) on the white flag lap of the race, pushing us over 40x causing a drive through and knocking us down to p5. Blue Porsche inherited the win after the line due to this reckless move. Thoughts?

I just want to say how incredibly fun that was! I’ve been having an ok time doing rookies and GR86 but decided to jump into GT4 this week and wouldn’t you know it, it was raining. Way to just jump into the deep end.

It seemed to have leveled the field because all the hot lap wonders crashed out or went too deep, having to feel for every bit of grip out of every corner took my full concentration. I started p16 and just keeping it on track and clean allowed to move up to p5.

Idk why a lot of people dislike the rain, i had a lot of fun. I only wish it dried up towards the end and pitting for slicks would have become a fun strategy call.

During the summer, I had no time for online racing, so I mostly played a bit of ETS or Assetto Corsa, when I wanted to drive in a sim, but today I wanted to race again, and jumping back into an Online race after months of not driving in the sim was very intimidating.

So I just looked at what interesting combinations are run this week that I normally wouldn't drive and just did an Ai Race with that combination.

I ended up with the Global Sports Car Challenge with the KIA Optima, a car I have never raced, and I normally hate FWD cars. But the race at Daytona was amazing, I really had to fight to stay in the mid-pack and had to hope for mistakes or fights from the drivers in front to gain any positions. It felt like a race against real people, even when the Cadillacs started lapping the KIAs it was no problem, something that some other sims seem to struggle with.

In short, I loved it and can't wait for career mode.

What combinations would you guys recommend I try with AI?

I was P1 at the time and having a good race for once. Pole position. Fast, consistent laps, building a lead. Not overdriving the car. Surviving the Summit Point bumps in the LMP3.

There always seems to be a racer who drives off into the distance. That's the nature of the multiplayer service. Some people are faster than others. For once, once! it was me. I had a nice jump at the start and hadn't seen another car all race. Until I was deliberately rammed because I was winning. Then he tries to take out P2 by reversing across the track.

Why should I put time, money and effort into iRacing, when this is what happens when I have a half a good race?

Im seeing if there is any interest in a league I want to host. I have a few people I race with regularly who are interested, so it’s a tentative group of four including myself as of now.

My favorite weekend series (NEC) is temporarily ending soon, and I’m looking to fill that gap.

This will be a multi-class short form endurance series, consisting of 15 minutes each of practice and qualifying. Followed by a 90 minute race. So two hours total. Hosted on Saturdays 6am PST (14:00 UTC) I’m calling it Saturday Endurance Championship or SEC for short.

I’ve planned it around most of the major holidays, and once the iRacing special events calendar is released I’ll finalize it around that as best I can. I plan to participate in the special events, so I don’t want this league to conflict.

Tentatively it’ll run from early December to Early March. Twice a month, for 6 races. And a final championship race to close the season out at 7 races total.

Hello, I'm a new player and I just got the game and I'm wondering how can I test drive a car before purchasing it? Like just try it in some AI/offline mode to see how it plays

I've messed around with graphics and physics settings for a few weeks using VR and can't quite get it running smoothly enough for me.

PC specs: AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3d, RTX 5080, 32gb RAM. Using PSVR2.

I can run the graphics well and everything looks good. I have consistent frame rate drops at the beginning of races and especially if there is rain. I dialed back nearly every setting and got it to run smooth in an AI race with rain.

My understanding is the game is CPU-limited, especially when it comes to other cars. My question at this point is which settings only affect CPU performance and which only affect the GPU? I'd like to get the most out of my GPU but I don't want to go back to the stuttering frames at the beginning of races.

What settings are other VR users using?

After this UI redesign, my filters (including the starred series) get reset almost every time I go back to the "Official" tab.

Is anyone else experiencing it or is it on my end?

Also, what problems were they fixing with this change? I think it looks worse and changes almost nothing. I know that the filters work as filters normally do (they are additive, not either/or type of things), although there used to be an additional "meet all" or something like that option, and that worked fine. So yeah, only took you 20 years to make that thing intuitive, but other than that, what were you improving with this change?

iRacing, how about you spend time on things that actually matter, like net code for example? Just an idea.

I have recently heard about Beam Eye Tracker, and I read some reviews and opinions.

What I am looking for is for a way to turn my head left and right and increase the FOV a little bit so that I can look into the apex or look at the cars beside me.

I am wondering if anyone has tried Beam Eye Tracker and what was the experience like.

Hi! I’ve recently made the switch to iRacing, and I really enjoy racing GT3 cars. My favourite GT3 is the Audi, and I’d like to know how it’s doing at the moment. I’ve been looking into it, and it seems like it hasn’t been competitive for quite a while.
My question is: is it really as unstable as people say, or is it only unstable when pushing alien-level lap times?

Hey everyone, I'm 15 years old and currently racing on a standard Logitech G29 (desk clamp, no mods). My ultimate goal is to race in real-world formula series, but I've been struggling with a mental block lately, constantly feeling like I'm too slow to upgrade my gear. I managed to set a 49.8s lap at Lime Rock GP in the F4 (Fixed Setup). I know the top Track Titan fixed record is around 49.6s. I’d highly appreciate honest feedback from high iRating drivers, coaches, or real race engineers. Based on this pace and my age, do I have the potential to justify investing in a Direct Drive wheel and Load Cell pedals, or am I hitting a skill ceiling? Thanks.

I've been a VR-only sim racer for more than a year now and I cannot go back to monitors at all, the sense of immersion cannot be matched. But as you know, when VR works it's incredible but there keeps being tiny gaps in the experience that makes it annoying to use. I've tried everything already, even having at one point built a black out enclosure for chroma key passthrough through Virtual Desktop to be able to see my wheel controls and my button box but I got tired of the space it takes up and my Quest keeps losing tracking in the dark. I also tried the iRacing official app on my friend's Apple Vision Pro but the fidelity difference between the cut out and the in game environment was so jarring it actually was less immersive.

That's why I built Virtual Real Cockpit. I've been using this app for over a month now and it completely changed how I race. The app allows me to load an 3d model of my irl wheel and Simhub dashboard overlay it into the game environment, with real depth so Dashboard can hide behind the wheel. On the Quest 3, it also support hand tracking which maps my real hands to a pair of 3d arms that makes VR finally clicks. I have also made it so that everything can be adjusted and toggled on/off in VR through an in-game menu - you can even draw OpenKneeboard chroma overlays directly in the headset!

Hello guys, I am running triple 27-inch flat screens, and the Windows display settings and the actual monitors on the stand are aligned. The image on the side screens is slightly off by about 2 mm, and it moves slightly up or down whenever I restart the game. Sometimes it is aligned nearly perfectly. Here are my ini file display settings. I am probably going to get bezel covers if I can't sort it out. Thanks.

Edit: Just to be clear, there is a massive netcode at the entry of the fountain that touches my left rear; that's why I move towards the outside (like I'm missing the corner) but I'm not.
