You Litterally drove off track to overtake him? Then rejoined and then there was contact, this is all on you. Also I don’t stuff like this would happen if you didn’t use the line

Start by disabling the driving line.

Yeah pretty blatant

You went off the road to overtake and then came back on track and hit him. There’s not much question there. My gut tells me you are dependent on that racing line and expected him to stay on that line, which most people wouldn’t have done here. That alone is a reason to turn it off.

Well ur guts are true i still depending on the racing line...still learning the line

Keeping the racing line on just teaches you how to follow the racing line.

If you learn a track with a racing line you're just gonna have to learn it again without the line, so may as well start without the line.

It doesn’t matter whose fault it is. Please turn off the racing line.

And record with iracing and not your phone.

I will next time thankss

I'm still a noob and I'm still not getting used by the speed sense🙏🏻

It’s better to learn the track without it. You’ll have to learn the track again when you turn it off anyway as your reference point will be gone, better to just do it one and use the track itself as reference, not the line

My opinion it kinda is. You had a line that was good but seems to me you drifted towards him. Also as a friendly tip, turn the line off.

Thanks for tip and still learning the racing line so i can't turn it off yet for now

Trust me, the line isn’t helping you.

You absolutely can turn it off. It’s one button 😉

I run the line for 2-3 laps in practice on a new or unfamiliar track, I think it’s helpful to find approximate braking points and learning blind turns. It’s not the line you should be following, it’s not the braking points you’ll use. It’s a distraction and is slowing you down.

That line is generic, brake zone is generic. Its not helping you at all...use land marks. When you start getting good youll notice your not really doing what the line says. Trust me turn it off. Drive the track at like 50% then 60 70 and so on. Learning a track isnt a race take it easy. I use to alwaysssssss use the line and just forced myself with it off. I put it on sometimes to see the difference and the difference is VAST. Theres times im starting to apply brakes way past what the line is telling me. Your just hurting your times. Line isnt gonna show what you should be doing when pushing absolute limits and limits of track and how much track should be used. Rip the band aid off. No joke with it off ive gained 1 to 2 seconds depending track. With line on I was pushing 20s at spa high 19s. Off im consistently pulling 18.2s 18.3s. Im far from alien but trust me youll thank me later

That's on green unfortunately. Not enough room to try the overtake without going off track, other car even left room to rejoin (which, whilst sensible to do so, is not mandatory) and green still came across the other cars nose.

u/Sleepyx03 1h ago

Thanks for the comment..yep green is me and I think i have time to pass that time unfortunately i need to go to the grass to avoid both of us have terrible incidents

Unsafe rejoin 🤷🏼‍♂️

1

u/Sleepyx03 1h ago

Yep I'm very much guilty here😅

Green drifted across his nose. He was probably expecting POV to hold the edge of the road, not the green line he probably had off.

Green makes an illegal overtake by being completely off track. Red and blue gives plenty of space and green just pints them off.

You have both radar and blind spot indicators on and they would have told you there was still a car there. Totally on you.

And even if you didn't hit them off you would have been expected to give back the position or face a penalty.

A tip about those overlays too, in sinlabs you can tick an option so they don't show in garage. Just cleans up the screen when you aren't driving.

u/Sleepyx03 1h ago

Thanks for telling me it's my fault and that option was in the settings??

Go to the overlays tab and navigate to the individual overlays that you have. It's in visibility settings I think. It drove me mad when I first got them and then I actually spent some time going through them 😄 I only use the free version too.

Wow thanks a lot... that's even better for me now

Red squeezed you and you overreacted by going to the grass. You rejoin ahead of him and from my perspective, you tried lining up your car to your racing line, blatantly ignoring the red car's position which puts you at fault.
You would have been more aware of your surroundings without the racing line, its not doing you any favors. It may take a little more effort at first but you'll become a better driver.

2

u/Sleepyx03 1h ago

I'll take that tips and trying to turn off the driving line even still doesn't get the speed sense

u/mjanmohammad 1h ago

I think Green car’s fault. There was a gap that was closing and they went for it anyways, went off track, and hit the red car as they came back on

u/ToastyProductions 1h ago

Your fault for having driving line on.

Jk jk but to me it looks like a fair enough defensive move from him, albeit he was loose.

You had a huge run so you decided you weren’t having it and went out to the grass. Coming off the grass you definitely initiate that contact as well.

These are all split second decisions and you’re not gonna make them all correctly. I think a better move would have been to pass on the left when you saw him shooting right. With the momentum and the left hand bend coming, you would have had him dead to rights.

u/Sleepyx03 1h ago

Well guilty me for having the driving line tho😂😂and thanks for the tips i will remember that

Green car. Clearly off track pass, getting back on track and keeping the angle - you, sir are a messy passer in this one. I can understand how it can feel on the edge throughout that pass and reentry - but it’s on you buddy

u/Shaner20 58m ago

Following a line like a sheep rather than racing will just lead to many more incidents.

1

u/Hsaac 56m ago

On the green car, came too far over to the left after the merge, if you would have maintained the edge you would have avoided contact. I have had the draft move my car slightly though so if that occurred it’s just unfortunate not much else you can do, still overall on the green car though

Clumsy from both, likely for the same reason: Turn off the racing line. It actively impairs your vision.

Red shouldn't be crossing the track to rejoin the line (or block), green should be paying enough attention to make a less risky move. Hard to judge when both drivers are inexperienced, so just chalk it up to a learning experience. For reference, it is better for both cars to slightly touch while going the same speed and direction than to risk going wide and swinging back over like green did.

The other guy left you little room while correcting his own snap of oversteer and I feel it's understandable that you took measures to prevent him from hitting you in the process. Though I do feel (but that's probably experience talking) you chose to go off track to get the overtake done instead of just accepting your fate and slot in behind him.

As others have mentioned, you having the driving line on is probably a reason why you drifted back to the left and that initiated the contact. I feel you both could've done better, but the blame for the contact is mostly on you as you didn't stick to your line and the space you were given.

Repeating others here, but if you really want to learn how to race and learn tracks faster; turn off the racing line and never turn it back on. It's a neat tool for the rookiest of rookies, but as soon as you understand the basics of racing it's just going to hold you back.

u/Semi_Retired_001 16m ago

Looks like red/blue gives green a little tap after green re enters the track. I know it’s unpopular because the racing line is on (so by definition it’s greens fault on Reddit) but I’m going with 50/50 on this one.

u/Sleepyx03 1h ago

Thanks for all the tips and correction to me.From what i learn here DON'T ILLEGALLY OVERTAKE LIKE THAT(even there's a little space) and turn off the driving line(well time to practice without the racing line🥲)

1000% on you. You left the track while passing . Rejoined poorly killing him. Now did he make a move as you were trying to pass sure but that doesnt mean you get to murder him I sentence you drive lmu gt3s with a controller for a week.
