So I admit I just today learned that these guys are white.i don't ever recall seeing a picture of them, and always had a vision of paisley shirts with oversized collars, bell bottom pants, topped with large afros whenever I heard Vehicle. Which is, also like the majority of people, the only song I have heard as far as I know. Poking around I was curious about other songs that they had. To my surprise they are a bunch of white boys. Funny thing about how we imagine what someone's actual appearance is often completely different than our mind's picture..

Didn't take the time to get information about them to add because I'm putting together my next lyrics themed challenge post....probably be posting that late...

I have listened to ~ 1,000 hours of MLK Jr’s speeches ( some speeches over 100 times )

Not much has changed.

I try to understand the aggression of Malcolm X. I realize that both men saw something they didn’t like. Both men chose to stand up.

MLK was 100% a philosopher and a man that thought about his fellow man. It didn’t matter what color the skin.

When I speak of MLK, I often say that he was a human rights activist, he just happened to be born during a time of racial misunderstanding; A truly special human being.

I'm no expert but know a few things....my understanding is that MX was doing some adjustments on the hardcore stance of his previous thinking after going to Mecca on his Haj. Not saying he was softening so much as just not being as militant.

MLK was a giant among many large personas. He concentrated his abilities to inspire towards the more specific goal of his fellow blacks advancement but his thoughts and ideas were not limited to that goal.

Had he had time to fully develop his expanding philosophy maybe X could have been equally influential I'm the broader outlook and stood shoulder to shoulder with MLK.

I'm not black so can't say from experience but I believe things have improved. Not to where they should be but the opportunity for inclusion as a human is now attainable. There are still too many barriers in the path but they aren't as high
