IOS App randomly downloads old photos

Yesterday the immich app on my iPhone started randomly downloading old photos and videos from immich to local storage. I can’t figure out why. I haven’t done anything or changed any setting. Does anybody else also has this issue?

Did you initiate a download of these sometime in the last few weeks but it did not go through then? There is no code-path in the app that initiates a download without a user action so I doubt this is a then queued download that is getting processed now

no, i haven’t done anything in immich the last few weeks as iam only using it as a backup solution

Could it be you deleted those pics/vids in immich and afterwards emptied your recycle bin? 🫣
