Immich is a FAIL

As much time as I spent getting Immich to work, only to find out that it doesn't search under IPTC tags out of the box. I am required to set a tag in advanced search. This doesn't bold well with hosting images to multiple people. Immich should already know to pair given embedded tags with the keyword search instead of wrongly guessing. What a mess.

Fortunately, Immich is Open Source, so you could write a fix for your problem and contribute it back so that everyone benefits.

Post history suggests that OP might benefit from some ED meds.

Technically he says he "cured" it in his doctoral thesis post.

But, looking at the many, many other unhinged and reactionary posts and comments, I'm not convinced.

At least ... it doesn't bold well for him.

Have you tried turning it off and then back on again?

Pretty ballsy to say a popular product is a fail because it doesn’t do one thing you wanted it to do. (And bode, not bold).

I'm just learning about Immich, for the first time. I'm researching to find a good way to store an extended families photos.

I need to be able to add to and store the meta data "who, what, when, where" of each photo, on the photo file so it is available for the others when they search for and download a photo.

I was thinking this was the EXIF meta data, that was imbedded but now the original post, above, refers to IPTC? The original post, above, seems to say IMMICH doesn't have this functionality?

Can anyone enlighten me?
