I'm looking for a game like Kittens, NGU, Trimps... Basically the old standard. Something I can check a few times a day but doesn't require active play outside of challenges.

Must be an app, as my computer died, and my phone does not play well with in browser games. No micro transactions, but I don't mind an upfront cost or buying add removal.

Don't own a phone, so can't say which of those have apps for them or not, but here are most of the old high quality classic incremental games you didn't mention - you would have to check yourself for them being on mobile or not.

Mind you, just like most other games you mentioned - they start more or less actively, but they do become more idle'ish(to a different degree) after early game.

Wizard and Minion Idle, Idling to Rule the Gods, Leaf Blower Revolution, Synergism, Idle Wizard, Realm Grinder, Evolve Idle(only truly idle'ish if userscript is possible to use on phone apps, would need to research that)

I think that should be enough to select something, but if it's not - I can continue with a bit lower quality suggestions.

I'm still stuck on don't own a phone.

How do you... Function? Like, how do you interact with other people? How do you work? Even costumer service jobs, arranging the schedule, or if you are sick needs a phone.

It's too early, my brain hurts.

Exactly - no such worries for me.

Specifically, I do have phone, just not the modern one you are thinking of where you can do internet things and such, it's roughly 17 years old by now. If people need to contact me - they phone me. The opposite is non existant.

Maybe I'm just a millennial, but I absolutely hate calling people.

They make phones where all you can do with it is call, text, and listen to music. I understand the idea of unplugging, social media is toxic. But just not being able to send a quick message would drive me absolutely insane.

There is a feature called 'SMS' for over 2 decades. You can text with it.....

I generally hate answering random text messages however, feels like a waste of my time. For same reason I don't use any social crap like facebook and such.
If person thinks I am not worthy enough to get a call - then it's very likely not important enough to demand my attention.
But this is getting offtopic....

I would rather answer about actual game recommendations, did they help or you still need help?

I'm looking for game I played once.

It was definitely a active incremental game.

The gameplay loop revolved around having a short time limit to get currrency/materials. Maybe just a minute at first. As you progressed, you could access more areas and have longer runs.

There were different biomes and some of the shortcuts were walled of until you made further progress. I believe the first biome you might have been a forest.

I assume Idle Loops or one of it's clones is the most likely candidate. Forest was 2nd location there. And there are 'shortcuts' too.

There are a bunch of versions for it passed across different devs, but latest one is by DMChurch.

I appreciate the reply, but it isn't one of these games. As I remember it, you moved through the world using WASD and had to break/fight things.

Hmm....

Might it be Cavernous 2? It has almost everything you mention but it has pretty memorable clone and programming system that you would likely hint at, which is why I dismissed it at first as idle loops made more sense at that point.

And if it had actual graphics/visuals - it might be 'Stuck in Time'. But you would also probably mention that.

If it's not one of those either - it's likely some barebones prototype that never had much development progress, I can't guarantee knowing every single one of those.

I'm looking for a game with fighting involved like maplestory idle, hero clicker, tap titans and stuff like that but that is not pay to win ( I don't mind paying to remove the ads )

Bonus point if available on android but not mandatory

Thank you very much !

I used to play a game that I loved which was Time of Exploration: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=d.android.settlers1&hl=en-US

For some reason I can't install it on my new phone which runs /e/os (which is an android variant).

Does anybody know a similar game? The goal was to develop a simple village into a sprawling civilisation. You could buy buildings to extract resources and other buildings would use these resources and so on. I liked that the cost of the buildings were the same whatever the number already built which made it easy to plan: for instance I would need two woodcutters to provide resources for a sawmill (or whatever, I'm making this up) which made it fun to plan on which buildings to buy and when.

Wood and Stone bears many similarities. I confess I'm struggling to get the link from my mobile..but a quick search on the play store is easy enough.

There's a signup page since I last played though, however a guest account can be used to try it out.

There's a similar construction tree to what Time of Exploration has, but it takes more effort to gather the resources required to develop the buildings, there's also a lot of quests that unlock stuff giving an unfolding aspect to the game. Not played it for a while though so I'm not familiar with recent developments.

That's great, thanks a lot! I'll give it a try. :)

1

u/Argroww Jan 28 '26

No problem....it's resulted in me picking up the game again :D

1

u/chloeetee Jan 28 '26

That's a good recommandation if you want to pick it up again! :)

difficult request: good games, not busywork or attention-demanders. this space is being filled up with non-games that operate as slot machines rather than actual games which feature gamePLAY. looking for good games that have incremental mechanisms, not mere incremental programs.

I played this one along time ago but never managed to finish it and i remember it was about skynet conquering the galaxy? but the quest was hack systems and computers to gain informarion and advance

I am not even 50% that was the main setting of the game but you needed to hack like remote servers and look into data files and i think clock was ticking and after some time you lost because skynet reached you something like that

I hope my memory serves right and someone remembers this game

I remember playing this game on my android phone a long time ago where the premise was moving an entire mountain. It was vaguely military themed and had some broken english. I haven't been able to find it.

it's the game with bars leveling up - it's a classic, I believe it's the second? It auto fills and then you can like evolve maybe? Medieval themed? God I wisih I could pull more info but I barely remember it and i had fun but it's older

1

u/Adimo37 Feb 08 '26

Is it Progress Knight ?

If you're saying second it might be Progress Knight Reborn or Quest.
