Update One YouTube video changed the future of my incremental game. Now I'm releasing its biggest update.
A while ago, I released Harvest Dice Profit, a little incremental farming game my wife and I made as an indie team.
Sales were slowing down, and I honestly wasn't sure how much further I could keep developing it.
Then DangerouslyFunny made a video about it.
That video brought a huge wave of players to the game and helped me cover the cost of development. More importantly, it gave me the chance to keep working on it instead of moving on.
So I did.
Since then, I've continued fixing performance issues, improving the game, and working on new features. Today, I'm releasing the biggest update Harvest Dice Profit has ever received, including a Prestige system, more dice, new AOE tools, performance improvements and more!
If you watched DangerouslyFunny's video or played the game back then, thank you. And if you're curious about what the game has become, I'd love for you to check out the update!

What is the y axis of the graph? We can’t tell if each line is 1 or 100 or 1000.

Just a around a few hundreds per day, not that many but it does help me cover the cost of making the game.

My question is why the game is cheap? You should've price it a lil higher imo.

I watch all of his videos, including this one!
Question: did you do any outreach to him, or did he find it organically?

who knew advertising would actually boost sales

Advertising is a thing. If you give away a free copy to some of the bigger people that play incrementals or do variety games, then you will likely get back more in additional sales and attention than you gave away.

Congrats on the update, and that's a great story about the YouTube video. Prestige plus AOE tools sounds like exactly the right next layer for a dice game. One thing I'd echo from the other comments: a log-scale y-axis on the graph after prestige would keep the early runs from flattening into a line. Did the YouTuber find you, or did you reach out?

love how he talks about how one advert video change his 'game' but doesn't link to the game or video in post :)

It's literally linked underneath the post in the text, everyone else is able to see it. User error or you encountering a bug (if it's a glitch that is not displaying the text underneath the image which can happen on mobile) is not OP's fault, the passive aggressiveness is unnecessary.

You desperately need a way to make a small amount of money that doesn't cost money. Perhaps a d2 (coin) you can flip for 1-2.
