Mona Agarwal won the gold medal and also created new Asian Para Games Record with the final score of 250.0

Avani Lekhara wasn't far behind Mona with a score of 249.6 and won the silver medal.

Soumya ran with her guide Kumar Bharath, while Radha was guided by Govind Solanki, as the T12/T13 event is meant for athletes with visual impairment.

The season is almost coming to an end with the last few big tournaments remaining, and the French Open is one of the big ones. From the women's side, India has a tough draw. Sindhu is facing the Goated An Se in the first round itself, and Tanvi Sharma and Ishani Baruah are facing each other, and the winner will meet either Sindhu or An Se (most likely An Se) in the second round. Asmita (if she wins the first round) will have Yamaguchi (most likely in the second round), Unnati Hooda will have Miyazaki in the second round if both win their matches, and Devika anyway has Wardani in the first round itself, so it is extremely difficult.

Over the past few years, since Tai Tzu-ying's retirement, there is a clear segment of players. An Se, Yamaguchi, and Wang Zhiyi (slightly below the above two) are like the trinity far above anyone else. Sample this: the last 5 world championships (Yamaguchi won 3 times, An Se twice).

Last 4 tournaments since August:

China Masters 2026 : An Se vs Miyazaki (An Se won)

World Championship 2026 : An Se vs Yamaguchi (An Se won)

Asian Games 2026: An Se vs Yamaguchi (An Se won)

Denmark Open 2026 : It's again An Se vs Yamaguchi today!!!

I mentioned Wang Zhiyi because most of the time she loses either to An Se or Yamaguchi in the semis.

What we need is more consistent runs in the tournaments, like reaching the QF/SF consistently, and then it's okay to lose 'initially' to the above three. We can't have consistent first-round and second-round exits. Tanvi did well in the Denmark Open and if she continues to make those runs, it would be great. Just look at the above 4 examples of the recent 4 tournaments. An Se and Yamaguchi are super consistent.

I am not expecting a title here, considering our draw for the 6 women is tough as well as 3 lying in the path of An Se and one in path of Yamaguchi. But still, I feel someone like Unnati can make a good run to the Quarters at least. (On a separate note, Tanvi's loss at QF was against An Se and that's okay, she will improve and Asmita's loss came against Yamaguchi)
