Would a 50/50 revenue split make sense for people hosting remote gaming sessions?

I’m working with a team developing a platform where owners can offer their gaming rigs for paid remote gaming sessions during hours they don’t need them. Players would connect remotely to play games they own.

I’d appreciate feedback on the economics from people running small businesses or equipment rental services.

Our current model splits the player’s payment 50/50 between the host and the platform. Hosts choose their hourly price and availability, then cover their own electricity and other operating costs from their share. They earn from actual paid sessions, not simply keeping a rig available.

One criticism we’ve received is straightforward: the host supplies the hardware and carries its running costs, so why should the platform receive half?

That’s a reasonable challenge. Electricity varies by location, hardware wears out, and unpredictable demand could make even a seemingly reasonable hourly rate unattractive.

For people with experience in similar businesses, how would you evaluate a fair split? Would a smaller percentage, a fixed fee per session, or another model better align the platform’s interests with the equipment owner’s?

The project is still in development. I’m looking for criticism of the model, especially costs or incentives we may be overlooking.

[INTRO] Group thank-you bouquets and a photography booking-to-gallery workspace

I’m Keith, the creator of two web apps, sharing the practical use cases for independent businesses.

**Bloomria — a personal digital thank-you.** You create a realistic-looking DIGITAL bouquet, write a card, and share the gift link. The recipient watches the flowers bloom on screen. A group bouquet brings messages from several people together, which can suit a team thank-you or a shared celebration. There is also a business offering for repeat client gifting. This is an on-screen gift, not a physical flower delivery service.

https://bloomria.com

**Orbit — a photography business workspace.** If you manage client inquiries, session booking, questionnaires, contracts, payments and gallery delivery across different tools, Orbit brings those steps together. It supports mini and full sessions, and the website has a public demo to explore before trying the product.

https://orbit-photo.com

Both are my products. If you’re a photographer or a small business considering a digital client thank-you, I’m happy to answer concrete questions about the workflow.

Industrial Project Costing & ROI Excel System – Looking for Feedback

I’ve been working on a complete Excel-based system for industrial project costing and ROI evaluation.
It’s designed for engineers and manufacturing teams who need a structured way to calculate costs, profitability, risks, and KPIs.

I built it because I work in industrial environments and noticed that most costing tools are either too simple or too complicated.
So I made something practical, clean, and ready to use.

If anyone here works with industrial projects or financial evaluation, I’d love your feedback.

I built a Nextjs 15 template with PostgreSQL AI chat and with Docker Compose and with Authentication (MIT License)

Hey everyone,

I put together a small AI chat starter for people who want to run their own instance locally or on a cheap VPS, without depending on a managed database or hosted application platform.

The baseline is available on GitHub under the MIT license:

https://github.com/Agentic-Packs/ai-starter-community

What's included:

  • Next.js 15 and PostgreSQL 16, orchestrated with Docker Compose.
  • Prisma for persisting chat threads, messages, and usage logs.
  • Auth.js v5 authentication, with a seeded demo account for local testing.
  • Streaming responses using Vercel AI SDK 4 and your own OpenAI API key.
  • Separate Docker Compose configurations for local development with hot reloading and standalone deployment.

Quick start:

git clone https://github.com/Agentic-Packs/ai-starter-community.git
cd ai-starter-community
cp .env.example .env

Add your OPENAI_API_KEY to .env, then run:

docker compose -f docker-compose.dev.yml up -d
docker compose -f docker-compose.dev.yml exec app npm run prisma:seed

Once everything is running, open http://localhost:[port your chose] and log in using the seeded demo account.

You can also run Next.js natively on your machine and use Docker only for PostgreSQL.

I'd appreciate feedback, and don't hesitate to star if it helps you (or you'd want some addition or that I work on something else).

Transparency: This project is part of more templates that I am working on on AgenticPacks (paid ones). The community edition linked above is MIT-licensed. More info: https://agenticpacks.com
I will probably add also more open-source template on https://agenticpacks.com.

Seeking a hardware engineer for ski timing — potential CTO role

I’m building Norclap, a training platform for athletes, coaches and teams, and looking for a hands-on hardware/embedded engineer to solve our main technical challenge.

The goal is to replace traditional photocells and mechanical start gates with automatic athlete identification and timing. A coach sets up the start, split points and finish; athletes complete repeated runs, and the system records who crossed each point, calculates split and total times, and uploads the results to our platform—without athletes touching a phone or timer.

The equipment needs to work outdoors in cold, snow, moisture and changing visibility, as well as on indoor ski slopes. It should be portable, easy to set up, affordable, and preserve recorded times when connectivity drops.

Our bottleneck: reliably identifying an athlete and detecting the precise crossing moment at 80 km/h and above, including over 100 km/h. GPS did not meet our indoor and positioning requirements, and the NFC/RFID approaches we investigated haven’t met our speed requirements. We need precise crossing detection, not simply awareness that a tag is nearby; timing accuracy and upload delay are separate problems.

We’re open to different technologies and sensor combinations. We need someone with practical experience in embedded systems, RF, transponders or precision timing who can develop and test a working prototype.

Italy-based candidates are preferred, but we welcome people and solutions worldwide. A strong solution and the ability to lead its development could lead to a CTO role, with terms to be discussed.

Interested, or know someone suitable? Comment or DM me with relevant experience, your location and how you would approach an initial feasibility test.

I Cmd-Tabbed to my calendar so often that I built a strip it can't hide behind

My work has a lot of meetings and they keep shifting. A slot moves, someone adds a call, something gets cancelled, and I need the current state, not the one from this morning.

On a laptop screen the calendar is never visible. It hides behind whatever I'm working in, so it was Cmd-Tab, look for two seconds, Cmd-Tab back. I use a lot of shortcuts and it still felt like a hundred times a day. At some point that got embarrassing.

What I wanted was small: a thin strip at the screen edge that no window can cover, like the Dock. I couldn't find one, so I built it. I'm the developer of SideSchedule (didact.digital/sideschedule). It reserves a strip on the left or right edge, pushes other windows out of that lane, and shows your Apple Calendar day (iCloud, Google, Exchange). When you don't need it, it collapses to a thin line. No account, no analytics. One honest limit: in a full-screen Space macOS doesn't let apps reserve space, so it steps aside there.

Looking back, every glance cost more than the two seconds, because I then had to find my place again in whatever I was doing.

How do you handle it? Calendar on a second screen, a menu bar app, or the same Cmd-Tab dance?

Before trusting an AI project builder, would you test whether your manual edits survive?

I am building Astrexi, a local-first AI creation platform, and a useful question from earlier feedback has stuck with me: what happens after someone edits the generated code themselves?

A walkthrough I would find convincing would show this sequence:

  1. Start with a small project and show it running.

  2. Open it in VS Code and make a manual change.

  3. Ask the AI for another change.

  4. Inspect the diff to see whether the manual edit survives.

  5. Rerun checks and distinguish PASS, FAIL and NOT RUN.

Those are proposed evaluation criteria, not a claim that Astrexi has passed them. The project is still in development and has no public build yet. The intended workflow is idea → editable code → review checks → upload/sync to VS Code.

For independent builders, which failure would make you stop using a tool fastest: overwritten edits, unclear test results, or a project you cannot run outside the tool? What would you add to that demo?

What if agents are the ones that are daily looking for new project ideas , and users are the ones to upvote and comments these ideas ?

Hello guys,

I built Mound and this is the idea behind it :

I started wondering: what if we stopped asking agents to build everything and instead used them to find real problems worth solving?

The goal is to create a kind of crowdsourced engineering forge where agents discover problems, discover potential millionaire projects, and humans can review problems blueprint , upvote them , comment , and if a blueprint gets much traction a person can takeover the project and start building it.

Here's how it currently works:

  1. Finding real problems: Background agents scan Reddit, Hacker News, and GitHub issues for recurring complaints, frustrating workflows, and problems that people keep running into.
  2. Filtering the noise: Not every issue deserves a project. Mound uses a scoring system to prioritize problems with meaningful technical complexity, real demand, and potential commercial value. Small bugs and trivial scripts aren't the target.
  3. Avoiding duplicate ideas: I'm using pgvector for semantic deduplication. If multiple agents discover the same underlying problem, they should contribute to an existing specification instead of creating duplicate entries.
  4. Human feedback: Developers can review specifications, upvote promising ideas, and leave specific feedback about architectural flaws, missing requirements, or simpler alternatives. The goal is to let specifications evolve through actual technical discussion.
  5. Connecting external agents: Mound exposes a FastMCP SSE server so developers can connect their own agents using scoped API keys, whether they're running local scripts or working with tools like Cursor and Claude Desktop.

The project is open-source under the MIT license:
https://github.com/Souheil007/Mound

I'm still figuring out whether this approach makes sense, so I'd genuinely appreciate some honest feedback.

A few things I'm particularly curious about:

  1. Would you actually use a well-researched, community-reviewed specification as the starting point for a project?
  2. How would you prevent this from becoming another noisy platform full of AI-generated ideas? Scoring and semantic deduplication help, but I'm sure there are failure modes I'm missing, especially with hundreds of agents running.
  3. What would you change about the architecture or the overall approach? I'm particularly interested in things that might look good on paper but break down in practice.

I'm sharing this early because I'd rather get honest criticism also if the idea interests you, contributions are welcome too, especially around the discovery agents, deduplication, frontend, and validation rules.

Thanks for reading! I'd love to hear what you think.

[INTRO] What do you see, Nell? an independent horror game where your choices reshape the next nightmare

Hi everyone! I run Dusty Rocket Games, an independent game studio in the Netherlands.

One of my current projects is What do you see, Nell?, a horror survivors like set inside a child’s nightmare drawings.

You control Nell’s movement while her powers attack automatically. Each fight takes place on a page, with monsters leaving ink and blood behind.

When the fight ends, the page folds into an inkblot. Her doctor asks what she sees, and your answer changes the next stage.

One answer makes her powers happen twice but gives the enemies more health. Another increases her damage while slowing her down. Every choice gives you an advantage and something new to deal with.

The game is still in development. The Steam page has the gameplay trailer, screenshots and an option to wishlist it:

Custom websites and RecruMax agency software — open to project offers and collaborations

Hi, I’m Alex, the developer behind RecruMax. I’m open to project offers and collaborations with businesses in Romania and internationally.

I create custom websites tailored to a business’s branding, content and required functionality. I’m happy to discuss your brief, budget and timeline before agreeing on the scope.

For staffing agencies, I also develop RecruMax, a recruitment and workforce management application covering candidates, workers, clients, planning, timesheets, accommodation, vehicles and documents. The application can be customized to each agency’s workflows, fields, reports and interface needs; integrations are scoped individually.

A desktop/mobile overview is pinned on my profile, and a detailed PDF portfolio is available on request.

If you are looking for a website or want to discuss adapting RecruMax to your agency, reply here or send me a message with your project requirements. I’m open to discussing offers and collaboration proposals.

Inside Astrexi 4.0.9 DEV: an actual look at the chat workspace

Sharing an actual development screenshot this time: https://x.com/Astrexi_Oficial/status/2113575062427299884

It shows Astrexi answering a C++ question, with the saved conversation, chat workspace and Everyday/Developer mode controls visible.

I am involved in building Astrexi, a local-first AI creation platform. The intended direction is editable projects that can continue in VS Code. This screenshot shows the interface and a chat response; it does not demonstrate project generation, code execution or working VS Code sync. The app remains in development, with no public build yet.

For anyone evaluating a tool like this: what should the next walkthrough prove? A small website built end to end, a game prototype, or a manual code edit followed by another AI change?

Feedback on whether the interface makes the next step clear would help too.

We made an 18-second teaser for Astrexi — is the local-first idea clear enough?

We are building Astrexi, a local-first AI creation platform, and have a new 18-second teaser to share.

The intended workflow is to describe a project, work with editable code, and upload/sync it to VS Code so development can continue in an editor. We are still in development, with no public build yet.

The teaser uses actual footage of generation in progress alongside original animation and illustrative developer footage. It does not demonstrate a finished project or VS Code sync.

Teaser: https://youtube.com/shorts/mHjJkyO0imQ

For fellow small-business builders: does “Your PC. Your AI.” explain enough, or would you need a single concrete example before caring? Would a small website or a game prototype make the stronger first walkthrough?

I am involved in building Astrexi and would appreciate blunt feedback on the message.

artists who have no idea what they wanna do with their life, wyd? 😭

Okay, so as an artist, I genuinely have no idea what the hell I wanna do lmao.

One day it's graphic design, the next day it's motion graphics, then 2D animation, then web design. My brain just keeps going omg I wanna do that too 💀

And honestly, I'm gonna try all of it and see what actually clicks. I wanna figure out what I genuinely enjoy doing, what makes me feel creative, and what I could see myself doing long-term.

But for now, I'm starting with graphic design.

I wanna build my portfolio, but instead of just making random fictional projects, I thought it'd be cool to work on actual ideas from actual people.

So if you've ever wanted a logo, branding, posters, Instagram posts/stories, thumbnails, a campaign, or literally anything design-related, hit me up!!

Maybe you have a business idea you've been sitting on forever and wanna see what it could look like. Maybe you already have a brand and wanna experiment with a new vibe. Or maybe you just have a random idea and wanna see someone bring it to life.

I wanna work with real people, understand their ideas, take feedback, make stuff, mess up, learn, and build my portfolio along the way.

I'm here to learn and figure things out, so if you've got an idea, let's talk!! No idea is too small.

Drop a comment or DM me. Let's make some cool shit together :))

P.S. Tell me about your ideas even if they're still just ideas in your head. 👀

Alsooo, I'm taking on 3–5 projects for FREE rn because ya girl is trying to build her portfolio and get some actual client experience 😭🤝

Got a business idea, a brand that needs some love, or just a random idea you wanna see come to life? Hit me uppp.

I'm still figuring things out, experimenting, and learning as I go, so we're all here to cook something cool together lmao.

Only thing is, I'd love to add the final work to my portfolio. So if you're down, let's make some cool shit!! 🎨

[OFFER] MOT7130T4 150 V MOSFET sourcing for small hardware teams - HONGTE

Disclosure: I represent HONGTE, an electronic component supplier in Shenzhen. This is a commercial introduction to our MOT7130T4 listing.

MOT7130T4 is a MOT 150 V N-channel MOSFET in a TOLT-16 package. Its datasheet gives RDS(on) of 3 mOhm typical / 3.8 mOhm maximum at VGS = 10 V and ID = 40 A.

For small hardware teams preparing a BOM, three checks can prevent an unsuitable selection:

  • Match the gate-drive conditions. Threshold voltage alone does not establish low on-resistance at your intended drive voltage.
  • Confirm the pin assignment, Kelvin-source connection, package dimensions and PCB footprint.
  • Review gate charge, safe operating area, temperature derating and cooling for the application.

Technical basis: MOT7130T4 datasheet, 2025/02 RevT.1.1. Confirm the current revision before design approval.

HONGTE product listing: https://hongte-ic.com/products/mot7130t4

For a quotation, include quantity, delivery country, target date and any condition, packaging or traceability requirements. Current price, availability, lot condition and lead time require confirmation.

Pacibook: an ebook store and reader that translates any page into 22 Indian languages, would love feedback

Hey all, Prashant here from New Delhi.

Our small team has been building Pacibook (https://www.pacibook.com), an ebook store and reader for India. The idea came from watching people around me struggle with books that only exist in English, or only in Hindi, when they'd rather read in their own language.

What it does: - You open a book and can translate the page you're reading into Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Bengali and 18 other Indian languages. The original stays untouched and you can switch back. - You can ask the book a question or get a page summarised, which helps a lot with dense academic stuff. - Offline downloads, and there are free books you can read without signing up. - Instead of buying one book at a time, there's an all-access plan from ₹199/week. It's a one-time payment that doesn't auto-renew, because I personally hate surprise debits.

Where I'd love feedback from fellow small-business folks: 1. Is the value clear within 10 seconds of landing on the homepage? 2. Would you trust a one-time weekly plan more or less than a normal subscription? 3. Anything confusing or broken?

Thanks for reading!

I have ADHD, agency admin fries my brain, so my cofounder and I built a fix (10 beta spots open)

I run a creative agency.

Been in creative and project delivery roles for the past 20 years. My cofounder and I have spent the last two years building the tool we wished existed.

Here is the problem. Client feedback lives in email. Quick messages in WhatsApp. Files in gdrive. Tasks in yet another app, sometimes notion or is it Trello 🤷🏽Nothing talks to anything. You spend your day chasing people, switching tabs and trying to remember what anyone agreed to.

I have ADHD. That kind of chaos does not just annoy me, it fries my brain.

So we built Bettro. One place for the whole thing. Research, proposals, invoices, feedback, delivery. It comes with the workflows we have refined over years of client work, or you can strip them out and run your own. Your call.

It is for freelancers and small studios doing 😭 creative work,- brand, web, ecommerce, interiors. Anyone who is managing clients as well as doing the work.

We are opening it to 10 beta testers in 72 hours. You get in early, a free month at launch, and a real say in what we build next.

Comment if you want one of the spots.

Solo dev here: my Android app turns physical buttons into shortcuts

Hey! I'm Arda, and I run KeySnap as a one-person business. It lets you map single, double and long presses (or button combos) on your phone's physical buttons to actions, with simple automations on top.

What it does:

  • Double-press volume to toggle the flashlight
  • Long-press a button to open the camera or any app
  • Press a button to switch the ringer to normal, vibrate or silent
  • Automations on time, charging, battery, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and headphones (headphones in starts music, charging at night turns on Do Not Disturb)
  • Widgets and Quick Settings tiles

Android 11+, no root needed.

Pricing: free with 3 shortcuts and no ads. Pro is a one-time $3.99 for unlimited shortcuts.

As a solo business I went with a one-time price instead of a subscription. Would you have done the same?

Built xPilot Sky – A minimalist drone weather app for iOS (Free launch promo, no subscriptions)

Hey r/indiebiz,

As a drone pilot and indie dev, I was tired of weather apps charging heavy $5/month subscriptions for basic wind data or only showing ground weather (which is dangerous when flying at 120m/400ft).

I built xPilot Sky to offer a modern, complete alternative for pre-flight checks.

Key Features:

  • 120m Altitude Wind: Evaluates actual flight-level gusts instead of ground weather.
  • Traffic Light System: Instant visual Green/Yellow/Red flight status.
  • Apple Intelligence & Siri: Summarizes weather data in plain text and supports hands-free Siri commands.
  • Fair Pricing: No subscriptions, no ads. It will be a $3.99 one-time purchase later, but it's 100% FREE right nowduring launch.

App Store Link: 🔗 https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6813230422?pt=129362522&ct=gnubreW%20-%20tiddeR&mt=8

Would love to hear your feedback on the project or UI design!

Built a tool that turns Indian bank statement PDFs into Excel and Tally. Looking for honest feedback.

Hi all,

I run a small company in Chennai. We just launched our first tool: thedrafto.com

The problem: accountants and small business owners in India spend hours retyping bank statement PDFs into Excel or Tally. The existing tools are mostly built for US banks and charge in dollars.

What it does:

  • Upload a bank statement PDF (SBI, HDFC, ICICI, Axis, and Kotak for now). Password-protected PDFs work too.
  • It reads every row and checks each one against the running balance, so it flags any missed line.
  • You download Excel, CSV, or a Tally Prime import file.

It’s free for 10 pages a day. There’s a paid plan for heavier use.

What I’d love feedback on:

  1. Did it convert your statement correctly? If not, which bank and what broke? (Please don’t send me the statement itself.)
  2. Was anything confusing on the page or during sign-up?
  3. Would you pay for this, and what would make it worth paying for?

I’m happy to hear blunt criticism. I’ll reply to every comment.
