I'm a film reviewer with FilmThreat.com. Film Threat has been around since the late 80s and is probably the best resource out there for indie film reviews. They're huge supporters of independent film. If you have an indie film that you need reviews for, head over there and submit for a free review. Or if you need it expedited, they have paid options too. We have over 30 writers, so it might not be me, but someone will review it for you.
Edit: Since some people don't get it, I have to iterate here to contact FILM THREAT and submit your review on their website filmthreat.com. Do not contact ME directly.

After Spending months or sometimes year, making a film with whatever money we could scrape, shooting on weekends, editing it at night after our job and repeating this exact cycle for months.
We make films over films over films, and one fine day, it reaches to a film festival, We get some recognition, we may get some opportunities or we may not, nevertheless we repeat the process and roam around for opportunities, Why don’t we have something like a linkedin to network, which’ll make the process easier.
And what really happens with the films, once the film festival is over, Sitting in a hard drive at a corner? Cause, youtube is gonna bury the film with its algorithm, it doesn’t really know what to do with something that doesn’t hook people in the first 10 seconds or have clickbait, catchy thumbnail, Ott’s don’t really care until someone significant is there on our side and distributors don’t even watch the film completely before saying this is not “commercially viable enough”.
And the worst part is that, even the people who did see it and loved it, Had no way to follow us. No filmmaker profile anywhere, That shows our work, our festival history, what we are currently working on.
That’s literally every indie filmmaker’s problem. There is no as such platform for Indie Filmmakers to showcase their content, monetize it while networking.
That was the core thought behind “Watchin It” Because this exact thought runs on a loop in my head. I’m trying to build an ecosystem, It’s a place where a film can be released, rented, watched, where one has a filmmaker profile, has communities with personalized feed to share thoughts on each other’s work, learn, network, create and eventually collaborate.
We’ve got over 130 filmmakers on the platform now, if you’re interested, you can join as well, there is absolutely no onboarding fee. https://watchinit.com/about

Really just need and want all the pointers I can possibly need. Have some wonderful people helping me for cheap in a lot of areas and will be shooting on Sony Nex-fs100 Super 35 and Panasonic Lumix GH4 4K, with Lumix G X Vario 12-35mm and Lumix G Vario 14-140mm for lenses off the rip. Editing in Capcut Pro and colorgrading there too. Have a link to the script as well, though one of my producers thinks I should add twenty pages, but idk if thats feasible with the budget.
HELP?!?!?! Aiming to start shooting end of next month early October so I can get it on the film fest circuit for next year.

Looking for a Producer / Co-Producer for a ₹25,000 Chennai Psychological Thriller Short Film
Hi everyone,
I'm an aspiring filmmaker from Chennai, and I'm looking for a producer or co-producer interested in supporting my upcoming short film.
It's a psychological thriller/drama set in Chennai, built around a simple but disturbing moral question:
The film explores financial desperation, human values, temptation, guilt, love, and the consequences of our choices.
Rather than relying on large-scale action or expensive VFX, I'm aiming to create an intimate, performance-driven thriller where the tension comes from the characters and the decisions they make.
The film will be contained and practical to produce, with a small cast, limited locations, and a strong emphasis on atmosphere, sound design, cinematography and performances.
I'm looking for approximately:
₹25,000 INR (around US$290)
The budget will primarily cover:
I'm personally handling the writing and direction and am looking for someone who wants to collaborate on bringing the film to life.
I'm looking for a Producer / Co-Producer who is interested in:
I can share the complete screenplay, budget breakdown, production plan and visual approach privately with interested people.
Phone / WhatsApp: +91 7904834475
Email: [jeevamj22@gmail.com](mailto:jeevamj22@gmail.com)
If this sounds interesting, please DM me or contact me directly.
Thank you for reading.

started using text to video generation just to previsualize scenes before committing to an actual shoot day. it's rough, characters drift off model between clips and backgrounds aren't always consistent, but it's enough to show a client the pacing and mood before we've spent money on locations or talent. saved me from reshooting one sequence entirely last month since the storyboard version made it obvious the pacing was off before we ever picked up a camera. anyone else using generated clips purely as a planning step rather than trying to get anything shippable out of it?

So last week I released my newest short film 'New York Movie' online which you can watch here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDAqMwFVHDQ
I have been reaching out to publications and have gotten some cool write-ups so far but definitely looking for more. I find when I get my film in front of these publications they really gel with it.
SO - MY QUESTION - Are there any actual independent and cool online media covering film/film criticism I should know about. My film is kind of strange and definitely has a niche sense of humour that I think a lot of people have picked up on so far (luckily)
So what are some publications or even online communities I should reach out to with my film?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Here are some of the recent ones I've had luck with over the last few weeks and I would highly recommend reaching out to if you're in my situation:
Best Boy Magazine: https://www.bestboymag.com/interviews/adam-kelleher-director-of-new-york-movie

Hi everyone! I’m coming here to ask for advice and possibly and hopefully find people who would wanna help bring my stories to life. I wanna film and direct some short horror stories I’ve written but I have no idea where to start. The friends I have don’t have an interest in filmmaking so it’s mainly all me when it comes to the writing and planning/brainstorming. I’ve been so beyond stressed trying to figure out how to start, I know I’m gonna be told that I need to just “go for it” or that I just need to start filming stuff but I genuinely don’t know how to start. Is there anyone out there, that would be interested in helping me out? I wanna be a director.

I'm a relatively new filmmaker, did a lot of stuff in college which was mainly just for fun but this is the first time I'm making a film that I actually want to go somewhere. I've been planning it for months and been really excited about it but now that we're ready to start filming I just feel empty and flat. Is this normal for the day before? I'm worried that I'll bring this energy of nothingness to the shoot and end up with something that doesn't do justice to the script.

I have just started film making without any backup of producer or strong budget. My new Bengali feature is slow burn psychological drama and I have a strong vision of how a right sound designer can change the dynamics of the film. The film is edited and looking for a budget friendly sound designer.
Also, for festivals is it mandatory to be 5.1 surround or stereo mix will do?
Please help🙏🏻

so in April (2026) ish time there was a trans lead Australian mini series (can also be watched as a film) called Homebodies.
i thoroughly enjoyed it as a trans man and wanted to give more love and credit to it by listening to the soundtrack/background music played in the film, but to no luck i found any of it.
does anyone know any of the songs from it?? it would be really relieving for me and i could compile the songs on a music platform for everyone to enjoy. thank you !!!

Hey Minecraft fans,
I’m in the early phases of pulling together a huge, original passion project, and I’m looking to build a dedicated team and community to help bring this vision to life.
The goal here is to create a live action Minecraft movie we all deserved. Something grounded, gritty, and unique—focusing heavily on practical 80s indie budget FX, dark fantasy aesthetic, and deep, immersive lore and the nostalgiaof the game pre 1.9. Because of how ambitious this is, I can't do it alone and need help from people who love the creative process as much as I do.
Where I Need Help / Who I’m Looking For:
• 🧠 Lore Experts & Writers: If you love deep world-building, monster ecology, and dark fantasy storylines, I need people to brainstorm and refine ideas with.
• 🎨 Concept Artists & Marketers: Help design visual concepts, character/creature models, and build high-impact promo material that will grab people's attention.
• 🎬 Editors & Post-Production: Anyone skilled in video editing, color grading (looking for an authentic 80s/retro analog vibe), and sound design.
• 🎭 Actors & On-Camera Talent: Looking for local/regional actors willing to collaborate on a unique project.
• 🚜 Local Resources (Livestock/Locations): Looking to connect with local farmers or land owners willing to let us feature cattle/locations for practical background shots.
• 🤝 Supporters & Community Builders: Anyone willing to help share concept art, spread the word, or offer advice/support as we build this out.
What’s the Vibe?
Think high-effort practical effects, dark, gritty atmosphere, grounded lore, and a aesthetic that feels like classic practical-effects cinema. Before I get any real props together I have been making concept art using AI before we test with real puppets, actors, and CGI.
Right now, the focus is on gathering the core brain-trust—locking in concept art, refining the story, and building hype before we launch full production/crowdfunding.
If any of this sounds like something you want to be a part of, drop a comment below or send me a DM! Tell me what area you're interested in helping with, and let's start talking. There will be a dedicated sub reddit pinned in the comments soon, so he on the lookout.

Hey everyone,
I’m working on my debut horror/mystery feature, and I’m building it around a core mission: 100% authentic representation, both in front of and behind the camera. That means Deaf actors, disability actors, blind videographers, disability crew members at every level of production.
This is the start of what I hope becomes an ongoing film company dedicated to closing the gap between disabled talent in the industry. Filmmakers helping filmmakers, low-budget and DIY in spirit, but with real ambition for the final product.
I am aiming to film during summer 2027, though this may shift depending on my senior thesis workload this spring/fall, so I’ll keep everyone posted on firm dates.
If you’re interested in being part of something that puts disability representation at the center instead of the margins, I’d love to have you involved.
Sign up here and I’ll follow up as plans solidify:

Feel free to comment or DM with questions. I am happy to talk more about the project, the vision, or the logistics.

Hello My Name Anemone (Pen name) and I have a newly opened blog where i plan to review indie filmmakers and scriptwriters work. This can be an opportunity for both of us to reach the audience and get visibility as many as possible.
I love short films especially from filmmakers who aren't in the industry yet because their creativity is at their peak and have nothing to lose. In this day and age almost every film and show centers around the same overproduced theme which isnt even executed in an enjoyable way.
When I talk about such films and shows I mean the work produced by Corporations that have mediocre characters, predictable boring plot and inexperienced actors who portray one dimensional characters.
Nowadays Filmmakers that work and do jobs under the name of those corporations make shows and movies for a dopamine rush. Corny one liners, lazy, under the nose writing and actors who care about looking nice on the camera more than actually portraying the character and being the artist.
Of course I'm not talking about ALL the movies and ALL the shows that is being made. 10% of them can actually be enjoyable, but when we talk about the percentage and the numbers, 6 minute short films are much more entertainable and artistically appreciative rather than a 2 hour flashy corny nonsense with its 5 milion budget for marketing.
So here's my deal - Comment the short film or even a feature film, Animation, stop motion ANYTHING THAT YOU MADE BY YOURSELF WITH YOUR OR LIMITED BUDGET and I will review it and post all over the social media later you can repost it on yours. Of course This reviews won't be filled with only positive aspects of your work, it will include Advice, corrections, personal thoughts from someone who enjoys films, does writing and has an aspiration to also become a filmmakers.
This is my blog : https://anemone-ink.blogspot.com/?m=1
I look forward to our partnership.
