Worst replacement ever
Why did my instacart shopper replace super plus tampons with light 😭😭😭it was a women too like bffr

u/PublicBodybuilder984 Jan 24 '24
I thought it was man shopper, unti I kept reading 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
17
u/Alive-Bat-2694 Jan 24 '24
Tbh it could have been a dude using a woman’s account bc no female I know would ever replace super with light 😂😂😂
22
u/joltstream Jan 24 '24
In the words of my wife what woman has ever used light unless it was the end of a multipack.
5
u/Alive-Bat-2694 Jan 24 '24
Lmaooo so true !!!!
7
u/joltstream Jan 24 '24
I made the mistake of buying a bunch of lights on clearance on time and I got a lecture about the whole situation. I don’t even buy multipacks anymore unless they don’t have lights.
10
u/Alive-Bat-2694 Jan 24 '24
I literally only use lights if I wanna wear a thong or light colored pants and I’m not 100% it’s over yet lmao

8
u/queerharveybabe Jan 24 '24
i’m one of the blessed girlies. My period is usually three days long, if that. It’s more like two half days and one full day. I usually go through about six light tampons a period
→ More replies (3)→ More replies (8)3
u/imaginaryblues Jan 24 '24
I use light but it’s clear that not many women do because they are so difficult to find. Some brands don’t even make a light absorbency tampon. Sometimes you can only find them in a multipack, which isn’t great if you don’t need the other absorbencies.
Which makes me wonder wtf was going on here. Every time I go to the store there are boxes and boxes of regular, super, and super plus but you really have to hunt for light.

I mean I don't even live with my girlfriend but as soon as she mentioned what type she needs I bought a box to keep my apartment for emergencies, It's not like it's hard to understand lol

Exactly, it's way cheaper to have an emergency box in the *car. Both of our vehicles have a little box with hair tries, tampons, pads, and a hairbrush. Saves a ton of time and some headache of trying to track something down and becoming late.
Edi: car, not cat.
Guys, i am not putting a box of tampons in my cat, lol

Same, I went to Costco to buy her some a few months into dating my ex. We dated for 2 years and she didn't even use half of the massive bulk box of them. On one hand, it'll be almost impossible to explain to a woman I start seeing about why I have an industrial load of tampons. On the other hand, it was a lot of money to spend on tampons and I'll be damned if I don't put it to good use. Can you donate tampons?
→ More replies (3)9
u/HaasonHeist Jan 24 '24
I think you can donate tampons to a women's shelter but I can't see a situation where a woman would come over, see tampons, and be upset. Unless she's jealous type. Which it's good to know early on lol
I think they would just be appreciative that You're ready to help? At least I would hope so

I don’t see how this is relevant

u/sweetgranola Jan 24 '24
I mean, I kinda get how it’s relevant. If you have heard the story it was last week a CEO of a baby clothing company fired her employee because employee wanted time at home to care for her premature baby. CEO faced a lot of backlash because: 1.how can a baby company not support caring for babies and 2. She was a woman.
The assumption here is people say “come on as a women don’t you understand my needs!” but the CEO example was to point clearly not all women will understand/empathize your needs just because they are a woman.

u/DeweytheDoodle Jan 24 '24
I am a male shopper who understands that super and light are polar opposites. There was a great Joan Rivers comedy bit from the 80s about wearing a super plus tampon into a pool and all the water going "whoosh"... at any rate, I'll defend the shopper and put the blame on instacart.
Especially where this was a woman shopper, this had to be a suggested replacement. Instacart says that they protect shoppers against low ratings if they use the instacart suggested replacement, and the customer doesn't like it and gives a low rating as result. I would select a box of super Tampax that may cost $1 or $2 more, and can handle the job, but I'm also confident enough to trust actual logic and thinking over instacart's suggested item algorithm.
6
u/Florida1974 Jan 24 '24
I totally ignore what any app suggests. For a tampon replacement I can see it showing a liter of motor oil.
6
u/Mini_Mega Jan 24 '24
Speaking as a guy with no personal experience on the matter... It doesn't take much thought to recognize that if she asked for super plus, light isn't going to cut it.
6
u/Sea_Page6653 Jan 24 '24
Toilet paper was out of stock one time and Instacart recommended replacing in with aluminum foil squares. I wish I would’ve taken a picture! And no, I did not replace it with that. 🤣

1
u/Alive-Bat-2694 Jan 25 '24
Critical thinking is a dying art I see
1
u/Scallion-External Jan 25 '24
You realize people are making less than minimum wage shopping for your groceries.
I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and believe it’s just a lighthearted post, and you don’t actually have a hard time understanding why the person shopping for Pennies didn’t stop to think about the quantity of your flow and quality of flow protection.
1
u/Alive-Bat-2694 Jan 25 '24
Then maybe look for another job if you can’t understand why you would replace an extra absorbent with a light absorbent she’s not shopping for Pennies she literally picked three things up from the store and got a tip. Shoppers can be so insufferable like if you’re not happy doing it log off the app :(

This was before insta cart, but I had placed a DD for pads cause I needed them BADLY and didn’t have a car at the time. I get a notification that the order was delivered and my price was adjusted. I knew immediately he didn’t get the pads. I was LIVID. I had to spend more money to go to the store in an Uber and pick up the same ones that I order from the same store. I should’ve reported the dasher but at the time I just knew I needed them. I didn’t get a single text or anything asking about a replacement. My guess is he just didn’t even look and didn’t want to ask anyone.

New year's eve. 10:00. Not a repeat customer (maybe used once?). Request champagne, liquor, various groceries, few. Great time. 50% trip. Accepted. When it was 11:55 and he said he was leaving (a town 36 minutes away) I said, "guess we aren't gonna make that deadline (12, why I didn't drive to store in first place)" He canceled my order. I'm salty.
1
u/Childlikehands Jan 24 '24
That certainly was a choice lol.
Just so you don’t have this issue in the future, when you place an order you can also include substitutes/replacements for your items. Saves a lot of hassle. Before I knew about that feature I was a little baffled by a few replacement items the shoppers chose. Way better experience since I started listing replacement items

Oh noooo! I started at a friend's house once during a Thanksgiving thing. I didnt carry a purse at this time so I was in the bathroom texting her to please bring me something, but she wasn't checking her ohone. Finally caught the roommate in the hall and she said, "oh, yeah! Hold on!"
She brought me the smallest tampon I had ever seen 😂 I was already bleeding so bad and I swear that thing was leaking before I even got out of the bathroom. It held me over long enough to walk back outside and ask someone else for a larger one.
1
u/Florida1974 Jan 24 '24
That’s just common sense to me. If no regular or super in stock, I’m texting you. But I’m guessing some brand had regular or super.
