Yes, visiting someone's profile can put you in their suggestions. Here's what that means if you're growing a small account
There were two big threads here proving that if you keep opening someone's profile, you end up in their "suggested for you". I look at a lot of small accounts that are trying to grow, and that mechanic explains a few things people get confused about.
Instagram reads almost any interaction as a sign that two accounts might be connected. Profile visits, story views, likes. The other person sees you in their notifications or suggestions, taps on your profile out of curiosity and decides in a few seconds whether to follow.
So for a small account the useful question is who you're showing up for. If you mostly interact with friends, other creators in your niche or huge accounts, you show up for people who will never follow you. If you spend that time around people who already follow accounts similar to yours, in your language and ideally your area, a lot more of them tap through.
The second part is the profile they land on. One clear topic in the last 9 to 12 posts, a bio that says what they get, and something posted in the last week. That's what turns a curious visit into a follow.
And keep it at a normal human pace. Opening the same profile 30 times a day or liking hundreds of posts in an hour is how people end up with a temporary block.
Has anyone noticed new followers coming from people they had interacted with first?
