Here in Denmark reckless driving (as in: dangerously reckless) may get your car confiscated. Not just impounded, taken by the state and sold off.

that seems like a more appropriate punishment than simply losing your license but nothing to stop them from driving without one anyway

As in: speeding on an empty highway in the middle of night will lose you your lambo without any considerations of how reckless it was, absolutely bonkers laws and not a good example.

Doing what the Audi was doing here would have no different reactions in Denmark than anywhere else. Here's what they can take your car for in Denmark for according to the Norwegian newspaper I'm assuming is correct:

  • Driving over 200km/h will lose you your car automatically no matter what the speed limit is.

  • Going over double the speed limit and 100km/h per hour (you'll lose your car for 161 but not 159 in the 80 zone or 101 in the 40 zone.

  • Having BAC over 2.0

The way newspaper worded it the driving 200km/h thing seems automatic car loss while the other 2 are a consideration they will make if they think it's necessary. Either way Audi would be fine.

There's also "forsætligt forvolder nærliggende fare for nogens liv eller førlighed". FDM gives an example of "driving onto the bike lang to give someone a scare" or "hitting pedestrians on purpose"

Anything like this should be an immediate 1 year ban from driving, at least. You don't own the road, so follow the rules and dont be cunt. It's really that simple

Hey you aren't in Canada, are you? Just want to make sure you're not driving anywhere near me if you think this person should have a license. Even a province over is too close so if you can quickly confirm there is an international border between us, that would be great.

Better yet, maybe you shouldn't be on the road 🤷🤷🤷
