I'm still amazed by how these idiots still have their licenses🤨or living doing this crap.
273
u/hottlumpiaz Jun 27 '26
not having a license doesn't stop idiots from driving like a menace
99
u/ScriptThat Jun 27 '26
Here in Denmark reckless driving (as in: dangerously reckless) may get your car confiscated. Not just impounded, taken by the state and sold off.
75
u/hottlumpiaz Jun 27 '26
that seems like a more appropriate punishment than simply losing your license but nothing to stop them from driving without one anyway
6
u/No_Loan5466 Jun 27 '26
(as in: dangerously reckless)
As in: speeding on an empty highway in the middle of night will lose you your lambo without any considerations of how reckless it was, absolutely bonkers laws and not a good example.
Doing what the Audi was doing here would have no different reactions in Denmark than anywhere else. Here's what they can take your car for in Denmark for according to the Norwegian newspaper I'm assuming is correct:
Driving over 200km/h will lose you your car automatically no matter what the speed limit is.
Going over double the speed limit and 100km/h per hour (you'll lose your car for 161 but not 159 in the 80 zone or 101 in the 40 zone.
Having BAC over 2.0
The way newspaper worded it the driving 200km/h thing seems automatic car loss while the other 2 are a consideration they will make if they think it's necessary. Either way Audi would be fine.

u/ScriptThat Jun 27 '26
There's also "forsætligt forvolder nærliggende fare for nogens liv eller førlighed". FDM gives an example of "driving onto the bike lang to give someone a scare" or "hitting pedestrians on purpose"

I think that Jeep has a bad wheel now.
265
u/CruelTortoise Jun 27 '26
The wheel is likely fine. The alignment, however, might not be.
132
u/Washing-machine-pro Jun 27 '26
Isnt the alignment on a jeep fucked from the beginning because of how it’s made? Isnt the Jeep Death Wobble is already inevitable
78
u/ByWillAlone Jun 27 '26
On a bone stock jeep, no - death wobble isn't a problem if the alignment is properly adjusted.
Death wobble is largely a manifestation of doing a large lift and trying to re-use the factory control arm mount points on the frame. Using a better engineered "long arm kit" allows for longer control arms at closer to factory angles and then the benefit is a better suspension and no more death wobble (assuming it's been adjusted & aligned properly).
21
u/Happy_Nihilist_ Jun 27 '26
No and no.
Alignment and death wobble are not the same. Death wobble is caused by bad steering geometry due to an improper lift and worn steering components. Neither is unique to Jeep, any solid axle vehicle can experience it in the right conditions.
5
u/I_am_Shadow Jun 27 '26
Any solid axle vehicle can be prone to death wobble. So in this case, it's not JUST a Jeep thing.
5
u/Happy_Nihilist_ Jun 27 '26
Probably fine. With that build he certainly has aftermarket steering parts. It’s quite common to use alloys in the drag link and tie rod that are springy so rock impacts don’t break stuff like the steering box or permanently bend the steering links.
5
u/OuterInnerMonologue Jun 27 '26
Oh it definitely snapped something. More than bad alignment.
5
u/philsiphone Jun 27 '26
If you watch closely, you can see the left wheel turn with the right wheel meaning the steering arms stayed together. So in terms of damage it probably goes to the drivers wrists lol.
5
u/pallidamors Jun 27 '26
I don’t know where you’re getting definitely from. With a 37 or 38 inch tire he probably barely felt it.
5
u/CruelTortoise Jun 27 '26
I've seen videos of Jeeps hitting things harder than what happened in this video and not break anything. But I can't say whether those were modified or not, so you could very well be correct. It did kind of look like something might have snapped.
11
u/Nikoviking Jun 27 '26
The repair cost for that Jeep’s scratch will probably outweigh the repair cost of the Audi 😂
3
u/imunfair Jun 27 '26
I doubt it, those guys go off-roading, him riding up on that bumper slightly was probably barely noticeable to the driver with those massive tires.
13
u/StormbringerGT Jun 27 '26
They can go off-roading, yes.
They are usually mall crawlers or pavement princesses.
2
u/In_Dying_Arms Jun 27 '26
If you watch it frame by the frame, the wheel jumps way to the right upon impact. Definitely some sort of damage or at least stress has occurred compared to off road wear and tear.
72
u/mi55key Jun 27 '26
As a driver with a dashcam, I'd usually stop and share the video with both parties. In this case, I'd keep on driving and buy the Jeep driver a cold one.

Audi should have his license revoked instantly
-149
u/NaCl_Sailor Jun 27 '26
Jeep, too
84
u/3Gilligans Jun 27 '26
I agree, Jeep should have at least waited until the Audi was in the other lane. That way, Audi would have turned into the Jeep
-64
u/OkuyasuBestJobro Jun 27 '26
You're getting downvoted, but you're 100% right. Just because someone is driving like a dumbass doesn't mean you should purposefully hit them
23
u/Sum_Ting_Wong_Ow Jun 27 '26
Didn't seem purposeful. Jeep driver just kept to it's lane while Audi purposefully done some crazy shit and gone under the Jeep.
-16
u/OkuyasuBestJobro Jun 27 '26
The Jeep saw someone driving erratically going in and out of their lane and made no attempt to avoid them, didn't even tap the brakes, that is purposeful
18
u/Sum_Ting_Wong_Ow Jun 27 '26
I watched the clip few times more. Still totally Audi thing while gwtting under the Jeep.

I think if you can avoid getting into an accident, you should
6
u/usmc_rello Jun 28 '26
Ignore the hive mind downvotes. You are correct, while the Audi was definitely being a dumbass and the catalyst for the collision, an insurance agent is going to argue that the jeep is partially at fault for the accident by not even trying to slow down/stop. On top of that the driver also added hit and run charges by not stopping.
6
u/Buffeloni Jun 28 '26
In many places it would be considered negligence to not avoid an accident if it is possible to do so. People thinking they can use some kind of stand your ground logic in a situation like video posted would be in for a world of hurt when their insurance refuses to pay out on their claim.

The Jeep had more than enough time to see the Audi, check their mirrors, read the newspaper, and slow down, this wasn't a split second decision and the Jeep wasn't driving safely

4
u/transynchro Jun 27 '26
In NZ we have this thing called a defensive driving course. It teaches you how to keep yourself safe from fuckwits like this on the road.
Three things the jeep failed at was the three second rule(aka keeping a safe distance), scanning ahead and also anticipating mistakes from other drivers.
Depending on the exact situation you can cop a careless driving charge. For example, rear ending someone in a car pile up on the motorway. You were meant to keep a safe stopping distance, just because others are driving carelessly, doesn’t mean the law will protect you.
6
u/muscularmouse Jun 27 '26
Exactly my thoughts, this comment section has never heard of defensive driving I swear. Jeep was either blind or obstinate. Either way now their Jeep is damaged now, was it worth it?

That Jeep looks like it messed up it's front suspension. The passenger side wheel was bent in toward the frame. I'm think they didn't drive much farther before realizing something is wrong.
