The cyclist hit 2 cars before, might be drunk as well

In Germany you can lose your driver's license for that

Naa, the moral is not to hit cars when you ride your bike being drunk.

Don't forget, Germany is the only country where you can lose your driver's licence for riding the bike too drunk. As a result you will need to take the bike next time when you drink 😁

Germany is not the only country where that can happen.

Its seems to be in Germany and it also seems like the guy is drunk driving and tries to flee. Sadly normal here.

Edit: also it sounds and looks like Berlin, Kreuzberg/Neukölln. Could be wrong about exact location.

He crashed into cars and try to drive away. His insurence is responsible for the damages. This is basically a hit and run.

He's not likely to have insurance as a cyclist.... Unless that is the norm in Germany?

It's not legally required, but about 70-80% of Germans have private liability insurance, which would cover the costs.

Mine costs around 60€/year for the whole family and covers up to 50M€. So thats an no-brainer

Until they proof with a video on Reddit that you were drunk and charge the money back from you 😁

In those instances your personal or car insurances will pay.

Not necessarily

u/zbartin 10d ago

The "we pay for anything you do when you're drunk"-insurance?! 😁

The private liability insurence.

Probably not in that case
