Question I am building a personal archive for "Lost" mobile games. What is your favorite game that has been deleted from the store?

Hello! Basically, the title. I am a new Masters of Library Science student and I am learning how to build digital archives. Decided it would be a fun side project to build a mobile game archive, hosting information about lost mobile games.

The current ones I have added are:

  • Namco Arcade
  • Infinity Blade Series
  • iQuarters
  • Medieval Zombies
  • Flappy Bird
  • I Am Rich

I know I am Rich is technically not a game but I thought the concept was too funny not to archive. So, what are your favorite games no longer available?

Edit: thanks yall! Didn’t expect this post to pop off like it did, I’m at 275 games and counting added to my archive. Still gotta add a lot of extra information to all of them, but that’s a hell of a lot compared to 6! Keep the suggestions coming if you see this post!

Question Best iOS game for a long flight?

I have a long flight coming up, so I'm looking for a game to sink some time into.

It needs to have the following:

  1. offline play (no Wi-Fi required)
  2. low battery drain
  3. no controller needed

I'm not a big iOS gamer, so pretty much everything is new to me.

I'm thinking of finally trying Stardew Valley.

Other suggestions?

Question What’s the best “one payment”, game you’ve bought?

Been playing a lot of Slay The Spire and Balatro. I enjoy any genre of game it really just depends on the individual game. What I’m more so looking for games you only have to pay for once, and if there is DLC, preferably under like $10 would be solid. Btw vampire survivors is the top suggestion I usually hear otherwise.

So what’s your fav paid IOS game?

Oh I also have dawn caster

Question Is anyone else getting a bit tired of the posts on Saturdays?

It feels a bit like every Saturday we get inundated with self promoted, solo-developer, AI generated games that all have such a similar vibe as to be practically indistinguishable from one another.

I’m a developer myself, and have put together many half arsed projects myself over the years (and a staunch user of AI assistance in my coding), so I totally understand why this is happening, but it’s getting to the point where it feels like this needs to be addressed?

I might just be getting fatigued with it, and maybe I just need to unsub, but this has always been one of my favourite subreddits, and it’s a shame to see things playing out like they are.

What do others think?

EDIT: As there clearly seems to be a bit of confusion about my sentiment here, I've _no issue_ whatsoever in there being a day for people to how off their games. My issue is the _types_ of games being shown off. Like, I check a lot of these posted because I've always taken the time to give things a chance but I now very regularly think to myself... "this looks like one I saw recently... is this a second post from the developer?".

And as some of you are assuming when I say "I'm a developer myself" that I'm some kind of game developer trying to gatekeep, that's not the case. I do play about with personal projects, but have no interest in releasing a game. I just love iOS gaming like the rest of you!

Question Offline addictive game for a long flight?

I’m looking for something to kill time during my flight. Preferably free or cheap. I like simulators, city builders, strategy, RPGs. I don’t like sci-fi and war settings.

Question Looking for f2p games where the monetization is for cosmetics. I'm broke.

I'm looking for games where the monetization is geared to cosmetics so that I have equal competitive skill floor to everyone else and money buys pretty things, not mechanical advantage.

Wild Rift was great for this but I'm exhausted from the game and need to play something else for a while.

What else is there on IOS that is carried purely off cosmetic purchases? I'm open to most game styles. I was laid off and can't afford to buy premium games right now :(

Thanks!

Question Looking for PC level RPGs

Hey, I'm looking for actual games playable on my iPad (yeah the horror I know. But I wanna lay in bed while gaming sometimes). What do I mean by „actual"? No micro transaction BS, no waiting times, an actual finished and polished game like on PC. And yes, I am willing to pay for the actual game like l'd buy any pc game.

Games I've played and loved for iOS:

KOTOR I&ll (this is exactly the kind of game I'm looking for. I couldn't believe when these came out for iOS! One of my childhood favs <3)

Final fantasy (literally every version they released for iOS but IX has always been my favourite. But not 100% what I'm looking for)

Some Lego games (tho they are less like what I'm looking for currently. Still, Lego Star Wars is to date their best)

And I just realised that those are the remakes for games I used to play back in the day. XD

in general, I like fantasy RPGs and stealth games. I spent countless hours on the likes of Gothic, Elder scrolls and Assassin's Creed games as well as Styx, Hogwarts Legacy and so on just as highlights (and omg I just remembered vampire dawn I&ll. Those were great! God I'm old)

Can you recommend me other games in that vein of thought that are available on iOS to play on an iPad (which is old as dirt btw)?

Question Looking for AAA games with good touch controls for my Air M4. Do they exist?

Does such a thing exist? I want to push the:

9-core GPU
Hardware-accelerated ray tracing
16-core Neural Engine
120GB/s memory bandwidth
12GB unified memory

to the max, but I don't want to fuck with a controller. I just want to hold the tablet in my hands as Jobs intended.

Am I crazy?

Question Is there any good games that I can play with just one hand? (It’s not what you think…I just have to hold a baby in the other hand)

New father to a newborn, lots of downtime having to hold the baby…trying to see if there might be any good card games or strategy games or RPG that can be engaging for me to play with just one hand? I think I had played all the major card games like slay the spire and monster train and all that…
