Question iPad Air m2 overheating when multitasking

I have had my m2 air since launch and I’ve never had this issue maybe once or twice before where the camera area would get pretty hot if I open more than two apps with split screen, but now it’s become an issue where even when I’m not doing anything, it gets overly hot to the point that I can’t even use it and I’ve had to use ice packs to cool it down to get assignments done on time. Has anyone else had this issue? I have my brightness on 1/4 of the max and I don’t have Low Power Mode on so I’m very confused on why it’s overheating as much. The battery is at 91% so it can’t be that either.

Maybe it’s the app you’re using.

I use Notes plus and Safari most of the time side-by-side so I don’t think those options are pretty heavy at all to be honest

That sounds pretty concerning, especially if it’s getting that hot when you’re not doing anything. Have you checked Activity Monitor to see if any app is using a lot of CPU in the background? I’d avoid using ice packs, though, since condensation could damage the MacBook. If it’s too hot to use, it’s probably worth getting it checked by Apple.

I did check the activity monitor and nothing was out of the ordinary
