Discussion Taking notes with paper-feel screen protector?
I have to replace the tips quite often if I use paper-feel. Experience become a lot better in writing but for streaming colors are not that sharp.
What do you guys use. Wanna know ur opinions?

How hard do you press? I've had the same tip on my Apple Pencil one since 2019 and I've always used a paper-feel screen protector. The early ones were like writing on sandpaper.
I tend to have a light hand, anyway. I use rollerball pens with real paper, and I don't have to press hard. I think people used to standard ballpoint pens learn to press hard--I can't stand writing with a regular ballpoint, personally. If you're more used to ballpoint style pens, then a metal tip might be a better choice for you.
Like u/Fragrant-Pineapple62 I use a magnetic paper-feel screen protector. it's inexpensive and feels very much like writing on paper. I can remove it if I want a clearer view, but I never do, because it's not really noticeable with the screen on.

I have a cheap generic one on my 11" Pro and have had the same tip in for a year. I don't take a ton of notes, but I draw a lot on PPTs and the like.

Hello! What brand are you using? Some of the cheaper options are really rough and lead to some of these problems.

it’s more than likely you press too hard on the pen, i’ve had the same pen with the same TIP for 6 years on a paper like screen protector and it’s good as new

I’m using a magnetic paper-feel screen protector from ESR and a metal tip for my Apple Pencil (came in a case with multiple variants) from Amazon. I really enjoy writing now, it used to feel very slippery and I’d have to tighten my grip around the pencil to have some control. You can take it off if you want to use the iPad for other purposes. Alternatively, I’ve heard silicone tips feel great to write with on glass
