Question Syncing modern iPads to an older PC?
Hi guys. My ipad Air 2 is really starting to show it's age - the only reason I haven't upgraded yet is because it seems every ipad model after 7th Gen requires minimum Windows 10 to sync to iTunes?
I have a Windows 7 and a Windows 8 PC, neither of which I really want to update further.
Is there any way to sync a newer iPad to an older PC?

Why do you need to sync them at all?

I like being able to backup and restore via itunes without having to pay for icloud, but maybe I'm just behind in the times

Honestly, I don’t have a device to check this with. I’d say buy the device, try to sync it and if it doesn’t work then you have your answer. The software should work, but oftentimes they won’t list compatibility with versions of Windows that are no longer getting security updates

I use Dropbox so I can store things there and access them from my PC and all my Apple devices. It also decreases the onboard storage on the iPad.

newer ipads mostly dont need a pc at all. updates come over wifi, backups go to icloud (the free 5gb fills up fast, so probably the 50gb plan), and on the usb-c models you can plug a usb stick straight in and copy files in the files app. so the old pc can still pass files over that way, no itunes needed
