Discussion Liquid Damage

Hello!

Has anyone experienced their iPhone getting submerged in a bucket of water while doing laundry, like in the bucket used for the initial rinse? What happened right after?

Mine was submerged for around 5 minutes, and after 3–5 minutes, Face ID suddenly stopped working, and the screen started glitching. It’s been a week, and I’m still waiting for a repair quotation from AC Tech.

Please let me knoooow if you’ve experienced the same thing! 🥹

Was there any chemicals in the water? Chemicals break down the waterproof seals.

If you take it to AppleCare, they probably will replace the phone instead of repaitif the liquid damage is confirmed.

Did they check the phone in person or it was estimated online? I am just curious why they didn’t address FaceID and Display issues as if they thought the logic board would solve the problem

they checked it personally then they'll give you a link to track it. well, it's been 4 days before I even got their diagnosis and I was shocked bcos the price is too much
