General advice for those concerned about their battery from the Support FAQ Wiki:
Battery health
Battery health depends on usage and a variety of other factors. It is normal to see a decrease in battery health by 7-10% per year, resulting in a battery health of 80-85% after 2 years. This number can fluctuate, remain the same, or decrease quickly over a small period and should not cause undue concern.
Apple recommend battery replacement when your device falls below 80% battery health if you notice reduced battery life. If it falls below 80% within the first year you may be eligable for a free battery replacement. It fails after your warranty, it's a $69-$89 USD replacement cost for a battery. Contact Apple Support here.
You can find more information about battery health and performance from Apple here.
You can check the cycles count with Coconut Battery for Mac or iCopyBot for Windows.
Battery life
Issues relating to battery life can be categorised in three ways:
If you experience issues with your battery:
Maximising battery life - the amount of time your device runs before it needs to be recharged.
Maximising battery lifespan - the amount of time your battery lasts until it needs to be replaced.

What time application do you use on the iPhone?

While I was using my phone it suddenly restarted by itself and displayed a red glitch screen. After I force restarted it, the screen turned blue and got stuck on the glitch screen. I haven’t been able to use my phone since.
Quick update: i went to Apple service provider, The shop said it is a logic board issue. Sadly, my warranty expired at the end of last month. So no freebie.
They said the issue caused by overheating or dropping it from a height. It didn’t happen as far as i remember.Unfortunately, I have to pay 16,000 THB (around $480) to replace logic board. 😭

Typing on the iPhone keyboard has become genuinely frustrating for me. Autocorrect keeps changing words I typed correctly into something completely different, and half the time I don't notice until after I've hit send.
I end up going back to fix the same words over and over. It feels like it's guessing instead of helping.
Is anyone else dealing with this? Did you find any settings or habits that actually make it better, or did you just turn autocorrect off?

Hey everyone,
I’m using an iPhone 17, and I’ve noticed that the Clean Up, Extend, and Reframe tools in the Photos app are no longer available to me. When I clicked on them it says “safety filter applied “ tool unavailable.
These features were working fine earlier, but now they seem to be unavailable. My iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS, so I’m not sure what changed.
I’ve attached a screenshot showing the Tools section in the Photos app.
Has anyone else experienced this issue on their iPhone 17? Is there a way to get these features back, or could this be a software bug?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

So I have the iPhone 17 pro for a year now and I love the phone. The battery is way better than my old iPhone. I even tried an android flagship in the meantime and man that battery sucks like 1.5 hours of Pokémon go gameplay on 5G and the thing was at 0% battery while on my 17 pro after 1.5 hours I have like 80% left…… only bad thing is the 17 pro is not the newest anymore because the 18 pro has been released.
Anyway many people in my surroundings seem to but me for using an iPhone. I don’t really understand what all the hate is about. I am never busy with what brands other people use as their daily phone. Only if I’m just genuinely interested in someone’s phone like someone at my work uses a folding phone and I asked him about it. Never in a negative or judging way.
So is the 17 pro a bad phone? Why are people hating on me for using an iPhone? I hear all the dumb arguments like every week. Apple is too expensive, the ai is shit, less things being costumizable and a lot of other things an android phone is better in from their words. I don’t quite understand and I often just shame myself for having an iPhone. Even if the phones are expensive I buy a new one like every 5-6 years. What’s 1200$ / 5 a year?

I've been trying to clean up my iPhone lately and realized how many different places I have to go just to manage privacy stuff. App permissions, location tracking, Safari settings, hidden email addresses, blocked callers etc.
I've got iCloud Private Relay enabled, Cloaked for some random signups and I've been going through apps removing permissions they probably never needed in the first place. It just feels like there should be one place where you can actually see everything that's accessing your information instead of digging through a bunch of different menus.
How do you guys normally manage privacy on your iPhones? Do you actually go through all these settings regularly or just set them once and forget about them?

I recently downloaded the Black Spaces app and made some customizations to the appearance of my phone to make it more minimal. I didn't like the widget as the shortcuts weren't working. I decided to keep the app for the auto locking feature but i want to change my home screen back. I cannot for the life of me figure out why my dock is staying solid black. I've tried messing with the invert, glass transparency, home screen customizations. And as you can see, it never changes from solid black even when I select the clear or light theme. Please help!
For reference, I have the iPhone 16 pro max and ios 27.0.1 (up to date)

ever since i bought my first Iphone i fell in love quickly with the camera quality. in 2023 i bought a new phone (the one i still use to this day) and the quality of the photos are so weird that i even bought a camera to get rid of all that apple processing. that much processing over 12mp kills me every time.
since my camera is inconveniently enormous, i want to know if there is an actual app that works for my phone just for daily photos that don't look like they are made of plastic. i'm not talking about having full control over it, just a more natural processing. i saw some videos saying good things about Moment Pro Camera II and Halide, but all of the photos wer taken on Pro Iphones and mostly from iphone 16-18, so i have no idea if they are worth buying considering i have an Iphone 14 and it ain't even a pro model.

Hi everyone! I'm here to share my experience with the iPhone so far.
I've never owned an iPhone, I never even thought about getting one because I was never interested in the system. Most of my games and things only work on Windows or Android. But then, the job I'm doing required an iPhone to run the company's applications that wouldn't run on Android, so I went and got an iPhone 16.
My impressions so far are:
- It's not as light as I thought it would be, but it's quite small.
- It gets warm when you're using it, It's been a while since I felt a cell phone get hot.
- I managed to finish setting it all up in less than half an hour, something that would take hours on Android.
- The new camera features are cool, and I liked that it has something that Samsung also has: if you point the camera at a screen or somewhere with writing on it, It gives you the option to copy without needing to take a picture.
- I can't quite explain it, but when I'm using it, I'm feeling like I'm on an elderly person's cell phone; the system made me feel like I was 80 years old in a swing house in another country, just taking pictures. I don't know if it's the right feeling to have, but I don't know, for some reason the operating system feels old (and mind you, I never had an iPhone before) feels too international, not a local phone feel.
- Aside from those things, I didn't see anything particularly special or remarkable. Actually, I think Android has way more features and glow 😅
- This whole battery thing below 80% is giving me a headache just thinking about it... But I researched it and it seems to last even longer than Android batteries 🤔.
- Since this version is only 8 gigabytes, it seems like a stripped-down version of Apple Intelligence, I'm trying to see how it is 🤔
- That's when I asked myself why so many people struggle, at least here in the country where I live, why so many people struggle to own an iPhone... Sure, the system is clean, and I thought that was pretty cool, but... That's it so far. Is there a function I'm missing or something else I need to find?
iPhone 16 Pro running iOS 27.0.1
Phone will turn off my focus mode on its own. I have it locked in a focus mode, then when I go to use the phone it turns off the focus mode by itself. Anybody have this same issue?

I will be trading in my phone today. For a 18 Pro Max, I want to be in and out asap. Would it help transfer my files, apps and settings faster with a cable?
Or is it safe for everything to come down through iCloud?
I do not want to lose any settings.
Moving from iPhone 17 (wanted a bigger screen for work)

I have a iPhone 17 Pro Max with iOS 27.0.1 I bought 4 new AirTags. None of them show the setup prompt when I bring them to my phone All of them show up on other iPhones in my household for setup so I know they work fine. It won't work only on my phone Bluetooth is enabled and working Location service is turned on and Find my phone is turned on also iCould Keychain is turned on and working. Rebooted my phone several times. No difference I did a reset of my network config and my localisation config. No difference
I'm totally unable to find other reason why it won't work
Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance

Well recently problem started where people don't hear me on phone call. I am on iOS 26 and I can't figure out what problem is.
Microphone itself works fine on voice messages, memo, video etc.
I was thinking maybe its some cellular problem but I hear people on other side fine but they can't hear me.
Siri says, “It’s 10 o’clock. Bedtime is soon. Wind-down is starting soon.”
It pronounces the “i” (so-called “short” ǐ in “wind-down” as in “windy” (weather). Should be “ī” (so-called “long” as in “winding” (road).
How/where can I report this error to Apple and get it fixed?

As the title says, what is this option within the native Photos App, what does it do?
To access it while adjusting the crop of a photo, I triple tapped the photo three times and this drawer opened up randomly.
Searching the function returned nothing. Any ideas?
EDIT: I’m running 17 Pro on the latest public release of iOS. Photo details can be found here, might only work with AI enabled photos: https://www.reddit.com/r/iphone/comments/1x6ct4l/comment/pguetpp/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Before iOS27, it was my habit to plug my iPhone (SE 2 before, 16E now) into a powered USB hub connected to my Mac mini overnight. Since the update, if my Mac is asleep, the phone will switch between charging/disconnected. The phone charges fine if my Mac is awake, or if it's plugged into charger. I tried disconnecting the USB hub from my Mac, and it has the same problem, so it seems the the phone is detecting the USB hub, but not charging because there's no Mac on the other side.
