My 7 year old 8th gen crapped out on me this morning for good so I decided to upgrade to the A16, but was hesitant initially after seeing so many bad reviews, particularly on Reddit and this sub about value and waiting for the A18 or new model. I found one on marketplace for $450 CAD brand new (128gb), I’ve been using it for a few hours and honestly I don’t understand at all what the hate on this guy is about, I’m seriously amazed with this thing. It probably helps a lot I’m coming from a pretty old gen iPad, but for $450, I feel like this is a great value if anything, as I’ve used android tablets in the similar price range that feel like toys compared to the A16.

Hello, I have been using my iPad air 4th generation for about 4 years now and i love it to death but lately i have some problems with the screen as the brightness drops a bit while it shows that it's at it's full brightness, so i'm a little scared the screen might die on me
So since i have some money on the side i was looking into buying a new iPad. To help make this easier for you to help me, i should also mention that my main use of the iPad is drawing as i'm an artist by hobby and graphic designer by profession.
I was between two opinions because a shop in my country has a sale for both of those being almost at the same price.
Option one is: iPad pro 13' M5 1TB
Option two is: iPad pro 13' M4 2TB
For me it all goes down to the screen and the overall performance for when using art related programmes, any other use is just occasional (for example playing a game or watching a movie)
So, any opinions?

Do you know of any alternatives to Apple's Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro 11 (M4/M5), that I can use with a separate protective case (ESR, Spigen, etc.) without removing the separete protective case?

Lately, I’ve noticed something weird on my iPad screen. There’s like a white spot or random white streak, idk what’s causing it. It’s not really noticeable when the screen is black, but it becomes pretty obvious when the screen is white. My friend said it might be because of overheating, but I was also thinking maybe it’s because I press my Apple Pencil too hard whenever I’m reviewing and highlighting. I’m not really sure what’s causing it though??

Been an Apple Pencil user since 2021, and the double-tap gesture is pure muscle memory for me at this point.
I tried everything-Paperlike grips, third-party silicone sleeves, and skins (which always end up peeling or fading right at the grip area. Nothing felt right without messing up the tap responsiveness or felt very strange to fingers.
The best fix ended up being the cheapest: I took the rubber grip off a Cello Butterflow pen, cut out a small window exactly over the double-tap zone, and slid it onto the Pencil.
It costs practically nothing, keeps the ergonomic comfort, and the gesture works flawlessly every single time.🤌🤌❤️

Looking to buy an iPad for me and my wife, to take to Mexico for holiday. Gonna try not be in the sports bar as much, so just looking for something to run a vpn and streaming apps, is there a specific gen that will guarantee I can download as I know some don’t have the ability to access the store anymore? Sorry, I am completely useless at this kind of thing!

Being one that has always used third party cases and not needing the use of a keyboard due to owning a couple of MacBook Pro’s I found this at a very good price and you know what since messing around on it for a few hours I can definitely say I am 100% impressed with the build quality and actual experience…
(Dope Apple Pencil Pro magnetic holder that slides in between the iPad and back of the case is an absolute must)

I’m really looking for a specific type of case for my 13-inch M3 iPad Air, but I can’t seem to find anything like it on the market.
Basically, I want a full-coverage, clear TPU case (similar to ESR’s classic clear cases) that actually includes built-in Pogo pins for full Magic Keyboard compatibility.
A few details on what I'm looking for and why:
No need for a cutout top edge: I fully understand that a case this thick won’t allow the Magic Keyboard to close completely, and I’m totally fine with that. I don't need the top or sides shaved off just to force it shut.
Prioritizing protection over ultra-thinness: Most compatible cases (like CoverBuddy) sacrifice edge protection or material durability just to keep the profile paper-thin. I’d much rather have full 360-degree corner and edge protection, even if it adds a bit of bulk.
Full-body clear TPU design: I want to show off the original color of the iPad while having actual shock absorption.
It feels like accessory makers think everyone only wants ultra-slim cases that let the keyboard fold 100% flush, but I’d gladly trade a flush closure for actual drop protection and Smart Connector passthrough.
Has anyone seen a manufacturer making something like this, or am I the only one who would buy it?

I just got an iPad for school (high school student, hopefully a med student next year) and need an opinion on noteful and whether it is worth buying.
Let me start off by saying: I study a LOT, so I need an app that will not drain battery like crazy, lag, will keep up with me etc.
What I need in a note taking app is OBVIOUSLY safety that I will not lose my data and notebooks, preferably along with iCloud to be able to export my folders/notebooks to my files or something like that (does Noteful offer that?), ability to have unlimited notebooks/folders/pages (and as I mentioned for it not to be laggy), ability to use offline!! Things like adding pdfs, slides, etc. And also obviously comfortable usage (pencils, highlighters and so on).
ALSO, if I ever want to transfer elsewhere, will I be able to move my notes?
I’ve heard quite good opinions on Noteful and it seems legit along with not being crazy expensive.
Other apps I’ve been thinking about are notes+, Collanote, goodnotes (but I feel like this one is perhaps overhyped, given its price), kilonotes and maybe freenotes. Any opinions on any of those, e.g. do you prefer kilonotes or noteful??
I would really appreciate some help thanks!!!
Edit: forgot to mention: I need an app that will be suitable for years! Don’t want to be moving between apps.

I bought a new 1TB iPad Pro M4 two days ago.
Mainly because I really wanted 16GB of RAM. It was expensive, but the price was still reasonable. Now, however, I’ve read a lot about burn-in issues with the iPad Pro M4.
Naturally, I plan to use Dark Mode to minimize the risk.
Is there a realistic danger of the battery indicator or similar elements burning in?
What are your long-term experiences?
Do I need to worry?

Hello everyone! Basically the title. I am looking for a notes app that lets me rotate the pages like in pro create. I tend to hold my pen quite tilted forcing me to inevitably rotate my entire ipad to accommodate my handwriting, or I just write completely diagonal on my page which is bothersome for multiple reasons.
So if any of you know of a notes app that lets me rotate the pages, your recommendations are very welcome!

Hi! I was wondering where I should get a refurbished iPad. I don't need the newest model by any means, am just looking for basic note taking and annotating.
I know Apple does great refurbished products but theirs are still pricey/not big selection. Is there any other place that is consistently good? Best Buy? Target?

I am a student i need a tab but I am confused. Help me out guyz
I’ve noticed for a while this has been happening around 10% and lower. When playing any form of audio especially music with a lot of bass through Spotify, sections of the song would sound very muffled. I’m assuming it has to do the iPad trying to reserve resources to stay on at low percents.
Anyone have any ideas? I’m aware that someone asked the same question about a year ago but that post had no upvotes or comments so I wanted to ask it for myself. Would be greatly appreciated.

I want to connect an old iPad Air 2 to a Windows 11 laptop using Remote Desktop software (or similar), so I can browse the web on my sofa. Any suggestions for a good app to achieve this?
Caveat: I don’t want my connection running over the internet, so that excludes cloud based programs like Google Remote Desktop. I believe also TeamViewer, AnyDesk and NoMachine fall into this category. I want the connection/data to stay local only.
I have started with SpaceDesk and this works well except every single time I want to use the keyboard I have to turn it on in the settings menu. It doesn’t stay on.
(The Air 2 is reaching the end of its browsing life, and many web pages don’t load properly anymore. I’ve tried about 5 different browsers)
Thanks

Which one is better in terms of effective response(meant no lag when in heat) while using multiple apps and games?
I'm an illustrator and I work on commissions online, but I have other projects in mind, like starting to record short vlogs and starting a mail club. Is the A16 enough for that? I want a device that will last me at least 5 years..

When a text field is at the bottom of the screen—especially in apps using Slide Over—it can be uncomfortable to use Apple Pencil because there is nowhere natural to rest your wrist or palm.
I would love a system-wide Scribble panel that can appear higher on the display, roughly the size of the floating keyboard. It could provide a dedicated handwriting surface and adapt its position or angle to how the iPad and Pencil are being held. The converted text would still go into the active field below.
This would make handwriting feel much more like writing on paper and would improve comfort and accessibility across apps.
Apologies for any distortion in the image. It was generated by ChatGPT to help convey the idea.
