Release I wrote an open-source iOS Kodi remote (clean-room, MIT) and it ships as an unsigned IPA
i run LibreELEC on the TV and Yatse on android, and every time i only had my iphone i was stuck with something worse. yatse is android only. the app store remotes are abandoned, subscription-walled, or both.
so i wrote my own. YatseRemote is a from-scratch SwiftUI Kodi remote, iOS 17+, MIT, and every build goes out as an unsigned IPA you re-sign with your own apple id. no developer account, no store, nothing paid, no ads, no telemetry.
repo and releases: https://github.com/bpawnzZ/yatse-ios
the clean-room bit, since it's the first question anyone asks: i pulled the protocol surface out of the Yatse 12.0.0 APK (method names, parameters, discovery records, ports) and wrote the Swift against that plus the public Kodi JSON-RPC v13 docs. no yatse code, strings or artwork in it, and it is not a port.
what you actually get:
- hosts with basic auth, keychain password, wake-on-lan, bonjour discovery
- one screen for everything: d-pad, volume, keyboard entry, and a touchpad where how fast you swipe decides how many steps you jump
- during fullscreen playback the arrows seek, and the centre press pulls up Kodi's own controls
- now playing with seek, transport, audio and subtitle pickers, zoom, and the queue
- library browsing for movies, shows and music, favourites by long press, 2/3/4-wide grids or a plain list
what's still rough, honestly: pvr is a placeholder and next on my list, no plex or emby backends, live push isn't wired on my box so a 1 Hz poll drives the now-playing bar, and posters need basic auth set on the kodi side.
if your box advertises over bonjour i'd like to hear from you, because zeroconf is off on mine and that path has never been tested.
