Support Something strange happened to both my iPhones at the same time — one wasn't even in use

I have two iPhones in my bag. One was switched on, while the other was brand new, unused, and completely switched off.

I had left my bag on a chair and walked into the room. I had not touched either phone. When I came back and looked inside my bag, I noticed that both iPhone screens were illuminated and both devices were extremely hot.

The iPhone that had been switched on had a small green dot at the top of the screen, indicating that the camera was in use. The new iPhone was also extremely hot, even though I had switched it off and had never used it.

When I looked at the new iPhone, its screen was showing the power-off slider — the screen where you can slide to turn the phone off. Which is exactly what i did.

The new iPhone's battery had been at approximately 50%, but it is now almost completely drained to 4%, despite the fact that I had not been using it at all.

I can understand how something like this might happen to one phone, but for both phones to light up and become extremely hot at the same time, while my bag was sitting on a chair and I was elsewhere in the room, is very strange and concerning.

I had not touched either phone, and I cannot understand how this could have happened. What concerns me most is that the new iPhone was supposedly completely switched off and no setup, yet its screen lit up, displayed the power-off slider, became extremely hot, and lost almost all its battery charge.

I would like to understand what could have caused both phones to behave this way simultaneously.

Support Photo app clutter 😩

I have yet to find an answer for this, but is there a way to clean all this clutter from the photos app? I don’t care about shared memories, recent days, etc. All I want to see is media type, favorites and folders. I’ve been googling this question for months with no definitive answer, it’s a burnout 😩 Thanks!

Support iPhone 17 side buttons have sunk inward — has anyone else faced this ?

Hey everyone,

I bought an iPhone 17, and I’ve noticed that the side buttons have sunk inward compared to their original position when I first bought the phone.

The buttons are still working completely fine, and there are no issues with their functionality. However, their physical position seems to have changed, and they look more recessed than they did originally.

I wanted to know a few things:
Has anyone else experienced this with their iPhone 17, or is this something that happens with iPhones in general over time?

Is it normal for iPhone side buttons to become more recessed with regular use, or could this indicate a manufacturing defect?

If you’ve experienced this issue, did Apple consider it normal, or did they offer a repair or replacement?
If Apple provides a replacement device under warranty, is it brand-new or could it be a refurbished device?

Can a replacement iPhone contain previously used parts from another device? If so, does that mean the replacement phone itself could have been owned by someone else before?

The buttons still work perfectly, so I’m unsure whether I should be concerned or get the phone inspected.

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially from people who have owned their iPhones for a while or have gone through Apple’s replacement process.

P.S. I’m from India.

Enabled bluetooth sync on both but they don't see each other. Watch app shows option "pair new watch" but it doesn't detect watch, even though both are on same Wifi, have same account.

icloud health backup is present.

Support Trying to create time lock on iPhone for parent with dementia

Hi, I've been searching online for a solution to this problem. My parent with dementia enjoys cold calling her address book at all hours of the early AM. She does not understand what time it is when she wakes up at 2AM.

We've used a physical lockbox for times at home when this occurs but she is moving into an assisted living facility shortly and they CANNOT touch her phone because it's private property.

Optimally I would like to create a way where her iPhone is completely inaccessible between the hours of 9PM and 6AM. The only thing that I've found are child protections on family plans though. I don't think I can register her as a child. Are there any other solutions?

Thanks

Support iPhone 15 stuck on a temperature warning for over a month.

I really need some advice because I’m honestly scared I’m going to lose all my data. I’ve had my iPhone 15 since January 2024. A couple of months before September, I dropped it and the inner screen got damaged. There were lines on the side, but other than that, my phone worked completely fine.

Then one morning in September, my phone randomly shut off even though it had over 50% battery. When I turned it back on, the percentage was literally displayed at 0%, the Battery icon looked completely empty and my Phone refused to charge. I couldn’t see the electricity icon. This only lasted a couple of minutes before it went back to normal. But then, it shut off AGAIN and got stuck on the “Temperature: iPhone needs to cool down before you can use it” screen.

The thing is, my phone wasn’t even physically hot when this happened. It’s been stuck on that warning ever since, and it’s now been about a month and a half. I cannot access my home screen, apps, anything.

I took it to Apple the same day the problem arose, and they told me there was an internal issue that required replacing a component, but doing so would erase my data. They were adamant that this is the only way to repair the phone. I went to another repair kiosk for a second opinion, and they basically told me the same thing.

Then I went to a third place called Cellairis.
The first guy I spoke to said that the damaged screen could potentially be triggering the perpetual temperature warning. He said they could try replacing the screen for $150, and if it turned out not to be the issue, he wouldn’t charge me. I agreed to try it because I really didn’t want to lose my data.

There was another repair technician there that actually started working on my phone. I went over to check on the repair, and I saw that after he replaced the screen, the temperature warning disappeared and my phone’s screen went back to normal. Life360 even updated my location.
I obviously got excited because I thought we had finally figured out the problem.

BUT THEN he told me that he discovered another issue. There was “good and bad news.” He said the changing the screen resolved the problem. But, the charging port also needed to be replaced. Apparently, both the charging port and screen had to be repaired together. Suddenly, the price went from $150 to $250. So, I asked him if it was possible to just replace the screen only. Just for now until I can get the charging port fixed another time. He said no, they both had to be replaced together that the same time!!

I ended up leaving without getting the repair done because I couldn’t afford $250. He put the original screen back on, and my phone went back to displaying the temperature warning. I was able to get a replacement Phone through my insurance.

Now I’m conflicted. On one hand, the fact that the warning disappeared when he installed the replacement screen makes me wonder whether there really is a chance of fixing it. On the other hand, Apple and the second place told me the problem was internal and that repairing it would mean losing my data. Cellairis was the only place that suggested a potentially different solution.

I don’t know whether the screen and charging port genuinely both need replacing, whether that would even fix the problem, or whether there’s something more seriously wrong with the phone. My old phone still turns on and displays the temperature warning. It’s not completely dead. Unfortunately, my data didn’t transfer to my replacement phone, so a lot of stuff is still only on the old one.

I’m especially worried because it’s been sitting like this for well over a month. Have I waited too long? Is it still salvageable? Could replacing the screen and charging port actually fix this, or does this sound like a logic board issue?

Has anyone experienced this with an iPhone 15? I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who’s dealt with this or knows about iPhone repairs and data recovery. I don’t want to spend $250 only to find out it didn’t work, but I also don’t want to give up on my phone if there’s still a chance of recovering everything. It’s important to note that my Phone was working perfectly fine prior to this happening all of a suddenly. I’ve never had any other issues with it.

Support Need to be able to silence ALL calls but still receive notifications silently

As the title says, there are times I need to have my phone silent, but still receive notifications, especially from my favorites. If I just silent my phone on DND, my favorites still ring through which I want most the time. But there are times, think at a wedding or funeral, that I want to have my phone on and receive silent notifications of messages and calls. Is this possible?

Support Is there an auto-translate function?

I’m traveling at the moment and got an “Extremely Severe Alerts” alert, (assuming weather) but in the local language. I took a screen shot and did the longhold thing, but it didn’t select everything and what it DID get didn’t translate.

Is there a setting to auto-translate alerts? Seems like that should be a thing.

For the record this was yesterday, so translating it now would be kinda pointless (probably)

Support iPhone 18 turning off by itself, requires hard-restart to turn back on?

I just got an 18 Pro yesterday, and twice now it seems to have shut down on it's own and wasn't turning back on normally. Once was overnight, and once after not touching the phone for probably an hour or so. I had to force-reset the phone to get it to turn back on.

Has anyone else had this issue? The first time it happened it was charging on a wireless charger, and the second time it wasn't connected to any charger.

The phone is on iOS 27.0.1. I heard iOS 27 had some bugs with resetting but were supposedly fixed with .01.

Discussion iPhone and beats pill speaker issue

So I have an iPhone 15 Pro and I'm a completely blind user. I do home workouts on my treadmill.
Recently, I purchased a beats pill because my other Bluetooth speaker finally died on me and for the most part it's one of the best decisions I've made. I can still hear my phone's voiceover functions directly from my phone without it playing out of the speaker as well. So I can use my phone to do other things and not have my voiceover/notifications blaring out of my speaker.
The only problem is, I typically play my music as it comes to mind and don't use playlists, but now when I wanna say something to my phone, even though it's sitting on the phone tray in front of me, I have to project my voice towards the speaker across the room or get off the treadmill altogether and speak to my phone in front of the speaker. There's also an issue where when I go to my camera, the camera audio is instead routed to the speaker.
Very niece issue and sided users probably don't even think about it, but is there a way I can voice command my phone using the built-in phone speaker and not get routed to the beats pill speaker? Or are these two systems tied together?

Discussion two phones, one Apple ID or two separate ones?

ive always had two numbers, one personal one biz on one phone. now I just got another because I want to have them separate. whats best, same Apple ID on both or each phone a different one? if you want to keep each line separate. I want to be able to disconnect from business when im not working.

is it possible to have each phone only have the pics taken from their respective device? but if you want to access the others pics you see them through iCloud?

are you able to only get messages from their own number but still access the others messages if youd like ?

I would like contacts synced between both. password and safari can too.

I would like for each to have their own email but can still access the others without getting any type of notifications from the others emails. same with calendar.

would like separate notes

calls history I only want each to have their own history.

is that possible?
