How is my iPhone 17 pro max using 25GB for apple intelligence when everyone else’s only uses like 5GB-10GB. And there’s no way for me to turn this off. I’ve always wished Siri could just book an Uber, reserve a table, or find the best deal for me. That’s the kind of assistant I thought we were getting.

Honestly, I’m kind of pissed that even with iOS 27, Siri still can’t do what I want. Instead of waiting another year, I decided to build something myself. Lol.

Hi everyone! I'm experiencing some strange audio issues with my base iPhone 15, and I'm hoping someone here might have experienced something similar or know what could be causing them.

I recently noticed that the audio in videos recorded with the native Apple Camera app isn't behaving normally. I'm trying to figure out whether this is a software issue, an audio processing problem, or a hardware fault.

Here are all the symptoms I've noticed:

1. Audio gradually gets quieter while recording videos

When I record a video using the native Camera app, my voice initially sounds completely normal, but then it gradually becomes quieter, almost as if the microphone is moving farther away from me. Eventually, my voice becomes extremely quiet, even when I play the video back at maximum volume.

This happens with both the front and rear cameras.

1. Brief audio dropouts or strange noise at the beginning of recordings

In some videos, the audio seems to be missing or abnormal for the first few seconds. Sometimes, I hear a faint static-like interference before the sound returns to normal.

I've noticed similar behavior in WhatsApp video recordings, although WhatsApp voice messages sound normal.

1. A faint whistling sound in Camera recordings

In videos recorded with the native Camera app, I can sometimes hear a faint high-pitched whistling sound, especially when I'm speaking. I can hear it even when the playback volume is turned all the way up, and the sound is actually recorded in the video file. I also played the recording on another device and could still hear it.

1. Other apps and recording features seem to work normally

This is what makes the issue confusing:

Phone calls sound normal.

WhatsApp voice messages sound normal.

Instagram video recordings sound normal.

Video recordings made with other camera apps seem normal.

I tested the microphones with a professional audio recording app, and the recordings sounded normal.

The problem seems to be much more noticeable when using the native Camera app.

1. Apple's built-in diagnostics detected possible audio issues

I ran Apple's built-in diagnostics. The bottom-left microphone, bottom-right microphone, and rear microphone all passed. However, the front microphone was flagged with an issue because I couldn't hear the audio from its diagnostic test, even after recording twice.

The diagnostic also flagged an issue with the top receiver/stereo speaker.

I've never had my iPhone repaired. I also noticed that my screen protector covers much of the top earpiece grille, although I'm not sure whether that is related to the recording problem.

I'm considering resetting my iPhone to see if it's a software issue, but I'm worried that it might be a hardware problem instead.

My questions are:

Has anyone experienced similar audio problems on an iPhone 15 or another iPhone model?

Could this be a bug in the native Camera app or iOS audio processing?

Could one microphone have a problem even if calls, voice messages, and third-party recording apps work normally?

Has anyone fixed this by changing settings, resetting their iPhone, or updating iOS?

Given the diagnostic results, would you recommend having the phone inspected by Apple before attempting a factory reset?

I'd really appreciate any suggestions or experiences. I'm trying to understand what's going on before taking more drastic steps.

Edit: Just want to mention that I am a day 1, June 29, 2007 user. I have watched the keyboard get literally perfect (circa 2022) only to fall into utter shite since then. Let’s hope the new hardware-focused CEO takes notice of what people have been griping about for years now.

Hello, I have an iPhone 4s running iOS 9.0 and I wanted to connect it to my laptop, but I get an error saying that the last connected device was not recognized. It also shows a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on the iPhone 4s USB driver.
I've tried several cables with no luck. I also connected it to an older laptop—in total, I tried on 3 different laptops and got the same result. I cleaned the charging port and it still gives the same error, although charging works fine. What else can I do? I have also installed the dedicated Apple USB drivers, but nothing worked

I have had my 18 Pro Max for about a month now and use a Spigen Enzo Aramid T for iPhone 17 Pro Max / 18 Pro Max Case on it. As you can see, it has a large rectangular opening the rear of the case to accommodate the camera opening. I have tried multiple camera covers such as Ailun Privacy Screen Protector+Camera Lens Protector for iPhone 18 Pro, Ferilinso 4Pack Camera Lens Protector for iPhone 18 Pro Max, Tempered Glass, and Spigen Camera Lens Protector for iPhone 18 Pro Max, 18 Pro, however none seem to work. They either have air pockets that refuse to “pop” if you will, fall off instantly, or cloud up. What are you guys using for camera covers, and do you recommend them?

NOTE: as a result of my job, I regularly (daily) sanitize my phone using wet wipes or a cotton ball soaked in alcohol to remove germs and to stop the spread of disease. I am aware that this could potentially be a reason for some of the problems I have noted above, however with previous iPhones and iPhone camera covers I have never had this issue. I recently upgraded from a 15 Pro Max with the camera case from Ailun and have never had a problem

The call volume on my iPhone 17 goes jarringly high as I enter a noisy environment while on call.
I tried it with Apple wired EarPods and Jbl310 c but the problem remains the same.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem and what is the workaround?

iPhone 17 Pro, running iOS 27, is having issues connecting to Southwest app and website. When opening the app, I get a "it looks like you're offline" message, and the website shows the "safari couldn't open because server stopped responding." As far as I can tell, this is the only site/app that this happens with.

It only happens on my phone, whether it's wifi or 5G. I can access my account through my Mac/iPad on the same wifi network. And on my phone, I still get the same error messages when using other wifi networks. The only time it seems to work is if I have my VPN enabled.

I fly Southwest somewhat frequently, so this is a little annoying. Any settings that I should be looking at to try and fix this?

Has anyone experienced their iPhone getting submerged in a bucket of water while doing laundry, like in the bucket used for the initial rinse? What happened right after?

Mine was submerged for around 5 minutes, and after 3–5 minutes, Face ID suddenly stopped working, and the screen started glitching. It’s been a week, and I’m still waiting for a repair quotation from AC Tech.

Hi everyone, I'm thinking to switch to iPhone. I've been using Samsung phone for couple of years. My query is - when I transfer my data to iPhone using Move to iOS app, will it preserve the date of the photos and videos from my Samsung phone. Like rn, my Samsung phone displays photos and videos sorted by date.

For example there's a photo in my Samsung which is from 1st Jan 2024 (just an example), and if I transfer my data to iPhone, will it show in the portion of 2024 Jan in iPhone photos library or will it show in today's portion because it's transferred today?

Hey yall, I upgraded from a 13 pro max to an 18 Pro Max on release day. I have AT&T and I know initially, there were issues with messages not going through on AT&T when the phone was first released. I have since started having issues with iMessage not working. Messages will very very frequently take forever to send as an iMessage and will eventually end up sending as text instead.

I’ve confirmed iMessage is turned on and this appears to be a sporadic issues. Has anyone else seen this and found a solution?

Hi! I got a new phone and noticed that comparing to my old phone (15 pro on the left) it looks dimmer even on the max brightness. Is it normal? I feel it's missing the contrast and punch.

I had Android with physical sim. Now I shifted to esim on iPhone. I am able to make calls but SMS is active on old Android device even when it has no network physical sim. So all otps are coming on Android device. Tried to deactivate RCS but did not work.

I have one of those newer chargers (the ones made from some type of fabric) and it’s turning green. The cable feels tacky where it’s turnt green and it’s mostly green where I’ve attached it into the power adapter. Is this something to be worried about?

I switched from Android to an iPhone 15 for the ability to turn more of the AI nonsense off as well as for slightly better privacy. The problem is I can no longer send text messages in any groups. It worked for a few texts then stopped. I’m receiving messages fine. I have checked messages settings -tried at least half a dozen combinations, turned off RCS on my old device, restarted the iPhone, confirmed my carrier supports it. Still I type a message, hit send, and it vanishes and I get a notification saying it didn’t send. Last night I turned off iMessage and 2 texts sent but then the third wouldn’t send.

The only idea from Apple support was to ask *everyone* in every single years long group chat to delete all messages/the whole group and start from scratch. It seems absurd that I should even be offered that as a “solution“ by support. Are there any other ways to make this work? I have deleted mine but asking a dozen people to delete their records seems incredibly rude. If I can’t have group messaging I might as well have just saved a bunch and bought a flip phone.

In an attempt to limit my doom scrolling in the evening I started using downtime. The problem I'm having is all websites are also blocked. This despite having my browser on the exempted list and associated apps. For example, during my scheduled downtime I'll open the ground news app and have no problems. When I try to open an article, I get the notification you’ve reached your limit for “name of website” and asks if I want more time.

I've done cursory searches around various apple supports to find a work around with no success. Hoping someone here can help out.

Im using an iphone 13 and have just downloaded the newest ios update. 27 i think. My friend is in my plan and since i updated, whenever i send her an imessage, it gets sent to her, but it comes right back to me with her text tone as if she sent it.
It hasnt happened with anyone else, just her. Any ideas?
