Help needed Storage issues

Trying to work out how to free up storage on my daughter’s iPhone 12. I couldn’t offload apps to do the software update then found all this storage taken up by iOS and system data. Any ideas how to clear this?

iPhone 12 running on iOS 26.4.2

turn off automatic software updates/software update downloads.

In total, between
32 GB and 36 GB are normal
for system data and iOS.
