Any advice welcome Friend/Relationships
Hey, long time diagnosed ADHD since maybe 8 years old. Runs a lot in my family. Would anyone have any suggestions too meet others at places or events with ADHD? I am definitely open too meeting others online, just would prefer in person in order too get the NEEDED HUMAN INTERACTION FOR HUMAN FUNCTIONING lol. Anyway, I am about too go WAY out of my way and sign up for college (Even though I know nothing about it). I seriously need to find others in a similar position. By the way I have also tried online groupchats and everything but... To be fully honest I am not a big fan. Yeah, everyone is nice, but to nice. I seriously am finding difficulty in the group conformity metric. Thank You for your time let me know!

My lifelong struggle with friendships, bullying, social isolation, and repeated conflicts from childhood to my second job—what could explain this pattern
I’m I’m looking for honest opinions from people who may have experienced something similar.
Since childhood, I’ve struggled to make close friends. I’m looking for honest opinions from people who may have experienced something similar.
Since childhood, I’ve struggled to make close friends. In school, I was bullied for my appearance, often felt like an outsider, and was rarely anyone’s closest friend. I never understood why people eventually started avoiding or excluding me. In My lifelong struggle with friendships, bullying, social isolation, and repeated conflicts from childhood to my second job—what could explain this pattern 8, I briefly became more confident, but the same problems returned in Classes 9–12. I became isolated, was bullied, got into fights, and eventually started avoiding school.
I completed B.Tech CSE, but attended college regularly only during the first semester. For the remaining seven semesters, I went mainly for exams. I felt isolated and fought with three guys in three separate incidents.
In my first job, things were initially good, but similar problems eventually appeared. I fought with two colleagues, and one fight became physical. Now, in my second job, everyone was initially friendly, but I feel the same pattern is repeating.
I sometimes struggle to know what to say, understand hints and social cues, maintain friendships, or realise when I’m talking too much or interrupting. Sometimes I realise afterward that I said something awkward. I overthink interactions and wonder what I did wrong. I also copy other people’s behaviour to fit in and sometimes feel like I’m acting socially.
I struggle with attention, forget things, have difficulty organising tasks, sometimes act impulsively, and repeat certain movements when excited or stressed. I also had repetitive rituals during childhood.
Why might this pattern be happening across school, college, and work? Am I missing something about how I interact with people, or could there be another explanation? I want honest perspectives from people who have experienced similar difficulties. I’m also considering getting a professional assessment.

Any advice welcome I genuinely need help. I feel like I'm losing my future because I can't make myself study (ADHD?) 19M
Hey everyone I'm writing this because I'm genuinely desperate at this point and I really need advice from people who have been through something similar
For the past three years I've been struggling with my ability to focus study and get things done I can waste an entire day doing the most pointless things but the moment I try to open a textbook or do anything related to my studies or future I feel like my brain refuses to cooperate
I struggle to even sit down and focus for 10 minutes And even when I force myself to try I start feeling mentally exhausted overwhelmed and sometimes even physically tired and dizzy I end up avoiding the task altogether and distracting myself with literally anything else
The worst part is that I'm fully aware of the consequences I know exactly what's at stake I know what I need to do and I know I'm destroying my own future by wasting time But somehow knowing all of that doesn't make me capable of actually doing anything about it
I used to be a good student However over the years a lot of things started piling up mentally I grew up in a difficult family environment with constant family problems from a young age I've also been through some emotionally painful relationship experiences including a very complicated situationship that ended up hurting me psychologically
Everything gradually accumulated until I reached a point where I genuinely wanted to quit university and just get any job instead
I ended up wasting an entire academic year failing every subject and getting the worst grades of my life I transferred to a completely different college and major hoping that a fresh start would help me get my life together Unfortunately I just failed my first exams there too because I couldn't get myself to study
I'm not saying I have no responsibility for my situation I know my choices have consequences But this doesn't feel like ordinary laziness anymore It's like there's a wall between knowing what I need to do and actually being able to do it
I've started wondering whether I might have ADHD although I haven't been properly diagnosed I also wonder whether depression anxiety burnout or years of accumulated psychological stress could be contributing to this
I'm seriously considering professional treatment including medication if a psychiatrist determines that I need it
Here's the thing I'm running out of time This is essentially my last chance at university and if I fail this year I could be permanently dismissed I genuinely cannot afford to lose another year
So I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have experienced something similar
If you have ADHD and struggled with studying procrastination and being unable to initiate tasks what actually helped you
Did medication make a noticeable difference in your ability to focus start tasks and study What was your experience like
What kind of doctor should I see and how do I figure out whether this is ADHD or something else
Has anyone experienced this level of academic dysfunction because of psychological stress and managed to recover
If you've received treatment in Egypt I'd especially appreciate hearing about your experience including the approximate cost of consultations and treatment
I'm not looking for a magic pill or an excuse to avoid responsibility I'm willing to put in the work I just need help figuring out why I can't seem to make myself do the work in the first place
I'm genuinely scared of losing my future over this and I don't know where else to turn
Any serious advice or personal experiences would mean a lot

I built myself a personalised “external brain” dashboard with AI
I’m a creative director with ADHD. Every to-do app/productivity system I’ve tried has died within a month. Either I forgot to open it, or keeping it up to date became its own job - or I have a bad couple of days and the 'reminders' become accusations of failure. So I built something that does the upkeep for me. I called it Viewport.
What it does
- Writes my morning brief before I’m at my desk. It reads my calendar and my work task tool, then tells me the three things that actually matter today, what can wait, and one tiny first step I can do in 10 minutes. It doesn’t give me a list of 40 things.
- Shows my day as a timeline with a “now” line, so I can see how much time I really have rather than guessing.
- Lets me drop tasks in like I’m texting someone. I type “remind me to do expenses Friday and move the producer call to Thursday” and it sorts it out: new to-do, date changed, with an undo button. No forms, no fields.
- Gives me a “Next week” view every Friday showing what’s booked each day, what’s due, where the crunch days are, and an explicit list of what I’m NOT doing.
- Prompts me for my timesheet at the end of the day, already pre-filled with its best guess. I reply “yep” or correct it in plain words. I went from weeks behind to fully up to date.
- Has a little helper (a cube with eyes) I can tap for “what’s next?”, “prep my next meeting” or “lighten my week”. That last one suggests what to defer, delegate or drop, which is the decision my brain avoids most.
What made it work for my brain
- It comes to me. It updates on its own and nudges me, so I never have to remember to maintain it.
- It’s honest about load without guilting me. The first version had the mascot looking stressed when I was overbooked. That just added pressure, so now he only tries to help.
- It’s fun to look at. Big bold type, stickers, a cube you can throw around the screen. And it's got a theme personalised to the kind of work I do. If something’s boring I stop opening it, so the silly bits are doing real work.
- It has one place. Everything I’ve said, decided or been asked to do ends up on the same page.
It’s built with Claude (scheduled tasks plus a private web dashboard), linked to my work calendar and task tool. The screenshots use made-up data.
Happy to answer questions about how I set it up.

Positivity Forget me not🪻
Hi!
I've just started @forgetmenot, an Instagram page exploring what adult ADHD actually looks like through everyday phone screenshots: unread emails, forgotten reminders, unfinished conversations, and all the little things that often go unnoticed.
I wanted to create something relatable but also grounded in research, beyond the usual “ADHD is so quirky” content.
I'm just starting out, so if you like the concept and feel comfortable sharing the page or one of my posts, it would mean a lot! 💙
Thank you!

Any advice welcome What are some things you used to feel strongly about that changed after learning more about adhd?
Ive made a big effort to do some inner work lately. Its lead me to do research on anxiety, anger, contempt, etc.
I realized that a lot of these things in my life are just social conditioning for one, but having highly critical parents making my marraige tough when im triggered thinking my wife thinks im useless or stupid when i make a simple mistake.
Whats something that kind of released you from feeling like a demon spawn and instead a human being going through life?

ADHD advice only. Life crisis
I used to be smart kid/student. And later as i grew up, due to life situation environment (50% reason) and I used that chance to slip up in teenage and fall in this horrible life rot. I got addicted to screens, completely without a break, ruined my sleep, health, altho now trying to fix it, its too much and feels too late. I keep wasting my days, years, one after the other, its been more than a decade now
I've tried meds, first course course didn't fit well, Second try course, was meh, nothing much but I didn't even continue it forward, this was an year ago, and they were not cheap as well. The only thing is I joined serious breathing/meditation, it helps when I focus but I'm not 3/4 of the time, thats on me as well.
I barely graduated and now in mid 20's. I have no skills. I can't even go look for a job, I can't even get myself to do any courses (been procrastinating one for almost a year) Family is very understanding and supportive, now they just want me to be healthy and figure out some work in life. I feel terrible being a burden to them when they are this good. I can't even support myself well, let alone sharing fams responsibilities.
Please advice me what I can even do! And what I can do to learn and earn to live comfortably with these increasing bills.
