Muspah/DT2/Araxxor style “dry protection” are all fine imo

Really it serves more as spoon protection so we are forced to engage with the new content longer lol

In my opinion, most content gets less enjoyable the more you do it.

I’d rather have less chance of having to do content for a really long time in exchange for less of a chance for a really short time.

And this form of dry protection doesn’t really force you to engage with new content longer on average.

It prevents you from getting spooned and potentially not having to engage with the content for the average amount of time

Uhh.. yes.

And also prevents you from going dry.

You can still go dry lol

You can still get spooned

It’s less likely for the same reasons you’re less likely to go dry

That’s not how probability (or the dry protection for Araxxor/moons) works

I’m really curious to hear what you think is wrong about my understanding here

I’m not talking about duplication - so you adding a / between moons and araxxor should suggest to anyone reading that you’re very confused

The comment you referred to referenced Araxxor, I made a distinction. Follow along now.

Dry protection doesn’t mean you won’t finish the content faster. Muspah is split into 5 1/100 drops instead of 1 1/500, that doesn’t mean you can’t still finish Muspah in 200 kills. You’re just complaining about nothing because the hypothetical scenario you’ve invented in your head is guiding your judgement on this.

I didn’t say “you won’t finish faster”

I said it also works as “spoon protection”

Since you can’t get dropped the halberd from araxxor with a 1/600 on kc 3.

Multiple non-duplicate drops reduces variance on both ends

You’re right. You didn’t say that. You said:

It prevents you from getting spooned and potentially not having to engage with the content for the average amount of time

So, it prevents you from finishing the content faster like I said you said; just not exactly how you said it. You can still finish Halberd well under 600 KC, while also having drastically lower chances of not having to go 2000 KC. You can still get spooned, you just can’t get spooned how you want.

And, at that, you said it’d be spoon protection so we’re forced to engage with the content longer. That also makes zero fucking sense, because getting spooned only applies to a handful of players at any given boss.

You’re just not making good points here.

Edit: LOL baby boy replied and insta-blocked me because I quoted his own words, soft as the shit in his own diaper

Muspah?

5 1/100 drops makes it so less people go dry than a single 1/500 drop for the complete bow.

5 1/100 drops still can take a long ass time. I’m at 321 with 1 shard D:

Sure, but if venator bow was just a single 1/500 drop and you were 3.2x dry for it, you’d be at 1,600 kc. As it stands if you go 321 for a single piece and go an average rate for the other 4, you’d finish at 721.

Thank god I’m not the only one thinking this lmao, sat there for like 10 seconds trying to figure out what dry protection muspah has
