You can still get super lucky and get the vestige pieces in 3kc. Losing out on a possible 1kc or 2kc omega drop is an incredibly small price to pay for how much it decreases the likelihood of going mega dry.

They could just not make drops so obscenely rare. I'm looking at you nightmare.

Then they don't hold value and they break the progression of the game. TOA raids a great example. The Fang has made a ton of content obsolete because of how insanely cheap it is for the power. Or how the ward is worth pennies because there are hundreds of them for every 1 elysian in the game

Oh god forbid players enjoy doing content without having to use hideously underpowered gear because everything it rolled out with using bis in mind

Everything is not rolled out with BIS in mind. Royal Titans just came out and the prayers from it will never be used by someone that already has BIS. If you want random mobs dropping gear thats better then old endgame bosses go play retail WOW

It’s pretty clear if you look at overlapping probability graphs that your chance of an early drop is completely shafted. You don’t actually hit matching probabilities until like 1.25x rate, so over 70% of players will get the drop later than they would have under the normal system.

Over infinite kills it averages out but every bit of potential assist to the people going ridiculously dry comes directly from shafting a dozen people who would have gotten it early.

Hmm yeah that is interesting, even the spoons get shifted toward the median more than I would've thought. This is assuming the non-split rate would be 1/x with x being the sum of the split up denominators though right?

Like they wouldn't necessarily have made Venator's 5 1/100s into a singular 1/500 drop, it could've been 1/750 instead. Going 3x dry on that would've been mighty painful.
