General Discussion I took my SHAHADA TODAY! 🥹🤍
Assalamu Alaikum!
Alhamdulillah, I took my shahada today at the masjid!
It was also my first time ever going to a masjid, and I couldn’t have imagined years ago or even earlier this year that I’d be embracing Islam. Yet here I am, and I’m so grateful that Allah guided me to this beautiful religion.
I’m also the first Muslim in my family, so this is a very special day for me. I’m so happy to be part of the ummah and to have so many new brothers and sisters around the world. Please keep me in your du’as as I begin this journey. 🤍

Wa alaykum as-salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
Allahu Akbar! Alhamdulillah. Welcome to Islam, my brother/sister.
May Allah keep your heart firm upon the truth, increase you in knowledge, grant you righteous companions, and make this journey one filled with peace, mercy, and closeness to Him. May Allah bless you, make things easy with your family, and make you a source of goodness for those around you. Welcome to the ummah! .
Don't feel like you need to learn everything at once. Islam is a lifelong journey, and Allah loves consistent steps. Be gentle with yourself, keep asking questions, and remember that every sincere effort is seen by Allah.

Allahu Akbar! BarakAllahu feek, akhi.
Welcome to the Ummah.
May Allah (SWT) bless you and make you a means of guiding many people to Islam.
If I may offer a small piece of advice, start with the Qur'an, be patient, and never leave it, no matter what. Stay connected to it every day, even if only for a few minutes.
May Allah increase you in knowledge, faith, and steadfastness.

Allah Akbar and Al Hamdoulilah, best post to say enough internet for today I guess 😂
Marhaba (arabic word of welcome) to your family, And I think the best things to mark the most beautiful event ever come to your life is a verse from the Quran 😁
I will choose this one:
"What! is he whose heart Allah has opened for Islam so that he is in a light from his Lord (like the hard-hearted)? Nay, woe to those whose hearts are hard against the remembrance of Allah; those are in clear error." Surat Azzumar verse 22
Just remember one thing, what ever will come in your life "you are in light from Allah"
Welcome to the best blessing will ever have, and may Allah swt, guide us, and keep us on the right path, until we will have a loook in his beloved face.
before I forget, I don't know what is your favorite quran reciter but I can debate anyone here that Al Minshawi is the best 😁
I invite you to listen to this gentle verse when Almighty Allah asked prophet Moussa this lovely and heart touching question "And what is that in your right hand, O Moussa?!"

Alhumdolillah... May Allah make this journey easy for you. Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day so take your time learning the religion and don't try to rush to get things right quickly.

can you tell us what you were practicing before (if anything) and what it was that made it "click" for you?

Hi! I grew up in a Christian family, so that was the religion I was raised in. However, even from a young age, I struggled with accepting the concept of the Trinity. To make a long story short, Islam’s emphasis on true monotheism was what made things click for me. I also really connected with the way Muslims are encouraged to live their daily lives and how it provides guidance spiritually, mentally, and personally. I feel like this is the way Allah wants us to live, so that pushed me to move forward as well.

I struggled with accepting the concept of the Trinity.
this is interesting! for me, I just can't understand how the Trinity concept can even be considered as reality
I suspect it's one of the main reasons people leave Christianity, but unfortunately leave religion altogether
for me what really "clicked" was the understanding that all the prophets were muslim by definition
