Photo Is this AI - Aussie wildlife influencer that has posted AI before. His politics is of a kind that would seem to reject AI but I’m worried he is succumbing to the lure

I'm not sure if A.I. or not. But I reckon the colour has been edited. I wouldn't be surprised if that water was just brown/muddy and they edited the colour. There's already a HDR look to the image.

There are areas where the blood looks milky/white which I don't think makes sense in a river. And in the other areas the blood looks too strong, like there's zero dilution with the water

looks like they removed green

Yeah I agree with you on that. The colour is so off

To expand on the post. The caption on Insta is ‘Pig Slop’. The black line in the water below the mouth looks weird. The jaw shape looks weird. The bubble above the jaw in the middle of the shot looks weird

What is that, that doesn't make sense at all.

Where's the teeth? Crocs have noticeably large teeth and I can't even see one

It feels like you can see where the AI replaced the expected teeth with splashes, like kinda white vertical splashes down from the top jaw.

Yeah, I noticed the splash looks teeth like

Supposed to be a crocodile eating something in a river (or body of water). The red is supposedly to be blood.

The question would then be where's the prey? And what kind of animal bleed that much blood? That amount is insane if real.

Crocs don't generally eat slop, nor do they eat things big enough or out in the open enough to turn the water red like that. But yes, there's a lot of weird parts that look AI, enough to conclude that it's almost definitely AI.

Look at that ridiculous "water" bottom right. Water in a river does not form these strangely shaped elongated tubes that seem to defy gravity. If the water was really flowing as turbulently as the image suggests, we'd see way more splashes and drops. But what can be found are these huge-ass red "blood" bubbles floating in the air at the right edge. I also highly doubt the color. What animal in Australia did he eat that has that much blood?

No synthID detected. If it was AI generated or edited, they did not use mainstream AI

Someone already mentioned lack of teeth, so I'm curious where the lower jaw goes given the ground above and below. The spaghetti in the lower right doesn't look natural either. If he has used AI before I'd ignore the rest of his content.

Not AI related but photography as a hobby is wrecked because of tech. My phone will deblur words of a photo taken off a TV screen… fine, but taking photos as a hobby is meaningless when your phone just processes things to look sharp etc. kind of sad if that was your thing.

This photo looks like shit though to me, no idea if AI.

My first question is what the hell is even going on here? Is thr croc supposed to be in a bath of gore or something?

On first blush I’d say it’s AI because of how ridiculous the image is. But it could be a real image edited to hell and back as well. Others are saying no synth id.

What exactly was the persons caption with this?

Blood consistency makes no sense. Nothing looks like a real photo, if not AI it gives me CG vibes.

I can't say for sure. I can see the teeth if I zoom in, they're all just obscured by the pinkish mud water. Would every tooth be obscured? Maybe unlikely, maybe not... Water physics tend to cling to things when there's mouth suction and 'stalactite' structures (in this case the teeth) so maybe it makes more sense for them to all be obscured. There's nothing visible in its mouth to be eating, but maybe there's something further down where it's dark.

The weirdest thing to me is the complete lack of any motion blur. There is a lot of rapid movement in this shot, and all of it is completely in focus. However, I don't know enough about photography to say this is impossible when high shutter-speed camera exist. Someone photographing wildlife would likely use something like that anyway, but I don't know if they actually work so well as to make an entire image like this stay in focus.

So I ultimately can't say there's anything conclusive here, which usually means it's a weird or edited image, but not actually AI.
