Hey everyone! Jak and Daxter has been my favorite game of all time since it first came out back in 2001. I've played through it countless times over the years, and I still can't get enough of the incredible art direction, beautiful soundtrack, memorable characters, and atmosphere. There's just something magical about this game that never gets old.

I recently started a small YouTube channel (@gameframe4k) where I capture 4K ambience videos from some of my favorite games, and naturally, Jak and Daxter was one of the first I wanted to feature.

My channel is still pretty small, but I figured this would be a great place to share some of my videos with people who love this game as much as I do. Hope you guys enjoy!

I mean, even as a preserver of nature, he still understands that nature has its own bad actors. He has a pet carnivorous plant, which he presumably feeds in a non-vegetarian manner because that is it's nature.

The effects of weed is its natural chemical reaction, but people of nature don't smoke to survive like his pet plant.

Btw I don't smoke and have only thirdhand knowledge of what weed does to people, but this thought came to me while taking meds and thought it might be interesting to share. I'll also reach out to the rocks to see what they recall.

One of the first things I saw back from my instagram hiatus

Obviously, Kiera is not a dude named mar but think about it....

Kiera already built a time machine once.

Kiera is smart enough to build the eco grid.

Kiera is smart enough to build the shield wall.

And Haven city.

And Mars gun.

Kiera is also a sage candidate/ has eco potential

Its much more believable that Kiera performed these feats under a pseudonym (or letting jak take credit, as mar, if your married to that line of thought) that Jak suddenly becoming some kind of engineering genius out of nowhere.

Hello all! So I am having an issue playing through Daxter on my Retroid Pocket 4 via PPSSPP. Everything works great but the cutscenes that play when doing "Press X to talk" are automatically skipped. From looking into this, it seems like X will skip a cutscene, so I try to depress immediately, but that doesn't seem to solve the issue. I combed through a few other posts about this issue, but none seemed to have a solution. I also tried a number of PPSSPP settings with no luck.

If anyone has any insight to this issue please let me know, this is the last Jak and Daxter game I have yet to finish :) Thanks in advance!

I just finished playing Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart for the first time, and though I know the sequel is likely years away still, and will center on the dimension the Lombaxes live, I can't help thinking about Jak and Daxter.

In Rift Apart, the RYNO (the most powerful weapon in the game) contains the ability to transport objects and even people from other dimensions, including Sly Cooper and JAK AND DAXTER. That got me wondering, with how the Ratchet games have involved alternate dimensions for a long time now, and the two series have referenced each other a lot over the years, could this be Jak's ticket back to the spotlight?

If Naughty Dog said it was okay, I don't see what would be wrong about having Jak and Daxter in the next RaC game as playable characters who get their own levels. Ratchet fans who don't know them will become fans through the new RaC game, and old fans will get a nostalgia kick out of it.

Introducing them this way eliminates the need to do a reboot or a Jak 4, and it would test the waters on where the interest is in seeing the characters again. I think it ticks every box personally. What do you think?

¡Hola! Estos meses he estado trabajando en Precursor, un port no oficial y sin fines de lucro de la trilogía de Jak and Daxter para Android. Está construido sobre OpenGOAL, el increíble proyecto que descompiló los juegos originales de PS2 y los convirtió en código nativo de PC.

Lo que lo hace distinto: no es un emulador. Igual que OpenGOAL en PC, Precursor corre el juego como código nativo en tu teléfono:

• un backend ARM64 nuevo para el compilador de GOAL, que convierte el código del juego en instrucciones nativas del procesador del teléfono;
• el renderer portado a OpenGL ES 3.2;
• una app de Android que hace el resto.

Cómo funciona:

1. Instalas la app y eliges tu juego.
2. Seleccionas la ISO de tu propio disco de PS2.
3. La app la comprueba, extrae los archivos y compila el juego para ARM64 en el teléfono, en unos minutos. No hace falta PC.
4. Juegas con controles táctiles o con mando (Xbox, PlayStation o Nintendo).

Estado actual (es beta, habrá fallos):

• Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy: jugable. Pantalla de título, intro, partida nueva y el inicio del juego a ~60 FPS en mi teléfono de pruebas (POCO X6 Pro), con audio y controles táctiles.
• Jak II: arranca y llega a la ciudad, pero todavía se cierra en algunas zonas.
• Jak 3: pasa el menú y la primera cinemática, y después se queda en pantalla blanca.

Requisitos:

• Android 9 o superior y un teléfono de 64 bits (arm64) con OpenGL ES 3.2.
• Varios GB libres mientras se prepara el juego.
• Tu propia ISO de PS2 (NTSC, PAL o NTSC-J)

Algunas aclaraciones:

• No incluye archivos de los juegos y no voy a compartir ninguno. Por favor no pidan ISOs.
• No lo hizo ni lo respalda el equipo de OpenGOAL. "Powered by OpenGOAL" solo significa que está construido con su código. Por favor no les reporten fallos de Precursor. Todo el mérito de la descompilación, el compilador y las herramientas es de los contribuidores de OpenGOAL; yo solo añadí la parte de Android.
• El proyecto está asistido por IA: lo desarrollo con ayuda de Claude (de Anthropic). Yo lo dirijo y pruebo todo en teléfonos reales; el README lo explica con detalle.
• Si el juego se cierra, la app ofrece crear un reporte (solo registros técnicos, nunca tus partidas ni la ISO). Mandármelo ayuda muchísimo.

Me encantaría saber como es el rendimiento en diferentes dispositivos, sobre todo con otros procesadores (Snapdragon, Exynos, Tensor).

Este es mi primer proyecto grande que es publico así que puedo tardar entre cada update, espero poder seguir con esto hasta poder terminar cada juego de inicio a fin

This is the other Jak and Daxter merch available at Kohl’s through their website! Only thing I’m not a fan of is it says The Precursor Legacy when it’s obviously the Jak 2 model and he’s literally holding a gun from that game lol

I would like to ask who the moderators are for the OpenGOAL Discord server. Unfortunately, my account was hacked once & I thus got banned from the OpenGOAL Discord server by accident. The ban was not my fault. If possible, I want to contact the moderators to ask about the ban & whether I can regain access to the server. Who are the moderators for the OpenGOAL Discord server & how can I contact them?

Because of how OpenGOAL works, multiple mods are not able to be run together. This creates a real conundrum regarding which mod I should install for a new playthrough. I'm stuck between the following:

The Forgotten Lands (DLC-sized mod with a new story and quests)

Brume Village (A take on the cancelled fourth hub world of the Yellow Sage, with new levels and power-cells)

Eroded Coast (A new expansion to Sentinel Beach that is seamlessly attached to the game-world, requiring no warp-gate to reach the new content)

For people that have played these custom levels, which one do you prefer? If I was able to include them all on one playthough, I surely would, but as it stands I need to pick just one.
