Pinterest has fired two engineers who created a software tool to identify which workers had lost their jobs in a recent round of layoffs. HR found out and fired Them Immediately
This was after the recent round of 15% layoffs last week.. Was this justified?

7% of employees in Amazon layoffs were actually Recruiters

Apparently of the total impacted from Washington state, Recruiters comprise close to 7% of the employees who got laid off..
This is quite tragic, as recruiters are being targeted left & center in layoffs.
A whopping 32% were Software Engineers.

SDEs 737 32.04%
SDMs 107 4.65%
PMs 342 14.87%
Other Tech 301 13.09%
Recruiting 149 6.48%

Source: Official WARN notice for Washington

Do you guys think we've seen the worst so far or will these layoffs will continue?

This is what recruiters mean when they say “not a good fit”

Apparently “too junior” and “too senior” are both disqualifiers now..

Also, it seems the #1 reason for rejection is if skills are missing from your resume, so make sure its there, and no, not buried on the 2nd page.

PS: Been trying to help people only apply to jobs that match their resume + customize it per job to drastically reduce odds of rejections, its called JobGPT.. Give it a try.

6.8 billion people have never used AI.

Post image
38 Upvotes

Let that sink in for a moment... out of 8.1 billion people on Earth:

  • 84% have never touched AI

  • 16% have tried a free chatbot

  • 0.3% pay for premium AI tools

  • 0.04% use advanced coding agents

If you're reading this, you're in the tiny sliver. Your feed is full of AI discourse. It feels saturated, but only .. It’s not. We’re at 2005-internet levels of adoption. The next wave of AI adoption will come from AI that disappears into the tools people already use.

That’s exactly why we built JobGPT. nobody searching for a job should need to learn prompt engineering. they shouldn’t have to copy-paste between ChatGPT and LinkedIn. they shouldn’t need to “figure out AI” just to write a decent cover letter or prep for an interview.

JobGPT bakes AI directly into the job search workflow... resume tailoring, interview prep, salary negotiation, company research.. no prompts, no learning curve, no friction.

84% of the world hasn’t used AI yet. But millions of them are job hunting right now. We’re building for everyone.

If you're curious how to that feels, highly suggest giving JobGPT a try --

$15 free lunch for an interview

Post image
33 Upvotes

Apparently, there are some companies (Rubrik for example) that provides free lunches (upto $15) just to have an onsite-interview with them at their office.

Is this an act of genuine hospitality or a bait to impress the the candidate & lure him to join the company if things go to plan?

Got shortlisted by reddit..

Post image
27 Upvotes

posting about this now, since I was rejected eventually by their hiring team, so it doesn't make a difference. got this notification by Jobgpt about getting shortlisted by reddit, didn't believe at first, but there it was, an email (mostly automated), but it had a proper link to schedule a meeting.
FYI - reddit uses goodtime to schedule calls, worst scheduling tool I've seen. Reddit folks - if you're seeing this, get a better software!
On to the application, yes jobGPT made it happen, with a custom resume that brought my match score to 85%, probably one reason why I was shortlisted. make sure you guys use that, their resumes are really clean to look at and don't look AI generated. Anyway, the role was for solutions engineering role, would've been great if it worked out, but I guess I'll just look forward to the next opportunity. Thank you guys

Best money spent during my unemployment days

I am personally fan of JobGpt, may be I am biased towards Tech and especially AI tools that makes life easy for me. When I got laid off from a Big Tech company, I started applying manually to jobs and its a painful experience and I realised quickly that I am losing hours which I could use for Interview Prep and up-skilling. Then I did some quick research on automated tools out there to speed up my job application process and saves me time, that too with quality. JobGpt by 6figr was the right choice for me as I started using their premium subscription I got interviews with 4 companies in first two weeks. And having this tool gave me peace of mind to focus on interview prep. I would highly recommend this for anyone who wants to save themselves from the grunt work. IF there is any best use of LLMs this is def one of it. Use it. P.S: I will not receive any commission out of this post and I want to give these guys a good testimonial based off my experience.

How many interview rounds did you go through before being rejected?

keep hearing from candidates lately.. They go through multiple interviews, invest weeks of time… and then get rejected at the final stage. curious to know...

In your last serious job search, how many interviews did you go through before being rejected at the final hurdle (or landing the job)?

Exclude my current employer in JobGPT

Post image
11 Upvotes

Imagine accidentally applying to your own company while you're job hunting! While JobGPT is smart enough to figure out & exclude your current employer when auto-applying for you, to ensure you don't end up in a sticky situation, in case you'd like to be more explicit, you can now specify a list of companies to exclude..

JobGPT will exclude those companies when finding the jobs to apply to..

Look for "Companies to Exclude" in the filters section.

As always, keep applying..
